“NOT value for money”

Written on: 14/09/2013

I was extremely disappointed with the value for money. Tickets are expensive, food is poor and extremely expensive and there appears to be more shops than rides. On top of that, you purchase a parking ticket which they check before you leave the car park. As if they haven't taken enough of your money. If I had felt I had received value for money I would not have been so disgruntled about the demand for my parking ticket as I left. When it was time to eat we ordered at the restaurant in the… Read Full Review

“5 hours queueing for 10 minutes of rides”

Written on: 09/09/2013

Firstly, the children seemed to enjoy it, and we have to remember that is the main reason most people go to Legoland. However, even with vouchers to allow adults to enter free, it cost us well over £100 for our three children to enter. We arrived at opening time and left at closing time. With time for lunch we managed to get on just 4 rides throughout the day. These all involved queuing for around an hour in order to get what seemed like 1 - 3 minutes on a ride. They charge an extra £3 for… Read Full Review

“Great if you like Queuing”

Written on: 03/09/2013 by vaux (1 review written)

Really if you like paying a lot of money to stand in queues all day then this is for you. This was the worst day at a theme park out for us, we came all the way from Cornwall. After recently visiting Flambards I asked my 5 year old daughter "Whats best Flambards or Legoland?", she replied Flambards enough said. The rides were not a lot better, and the fact we had to wait around 60 minutes for a ride that lasted less than 5 was totally pathetic. Maybe it was our fault for going in August… Read Full Review

“Pathetic rip off. Waste of time.”

Written on: 29/08/2013 by brosgidi (1 review written)

From Enfield, took over two hours to get to the park. Then a queue of over one hour to get tickets in the heat. Despite having vouchers worth £99, still paid £70 for two adults and two kids. Then another hour and ten minutes queue to get on the first ride. For every ride, there was at least an hour queue, meaning we could only go on three rides for the whole 7 hours we were there. And these were mediocre 2-3 minutes rides. It was just ridiculous. Queues for everything - food, toilets… Read Full Review

“Oh dear.........”

Written on: 26/08/2013

If you can go during school term time, bring your own picnic and do not pay anywhere near the full price for a ticket, then maybe it's worth a shot. Otherwise, it's a disappointing nightmare. The rides are, frankly, pathetic. For example - the dinosaur "safari" - queue for an hour for a ride lasting 2 minutes past some plastic brick creatures. What museaum did they get these things from and how have they managed to stay open for so long? This is a classic example of greedy park owners… Read Full Review

“Never Ever Go To Legoland .... Ever!”

Written on: 23/08/2013 by wendy3kids (1 review written)

This was definitely the worst place I have ever been charged a fortune to go in. The owners are plain greedy. The allow far too many people in at once which diminishes everyone's experience. The place didn't even have enough benches to sit on. Something it could definitely do with. After queuing for an average of 1.5 hours for each ride and then queuing an hour to get put of the place just added insult to injury. There are no positive comments I can make about the place. Food was ridiculously… Read Full Review

I agree! We spent 10hrs in the place and only managed to get on 7 rides! After queuing for 1hr 40mins for the log flume and then finally got near the from to only have to continue waiting whilst the people who had paid even more money for the Qbot to get on before us. My 5 year old son was very excited about going to the new splash valley water park but when we got there I have never experienced such a terrifying time! There were far too many children and adults in this part of the park that it was just dangerous. Due to the sheer amount if people we lost our son at least 3 times so we had to come away! It was also only supervised by one young girl who clearly could not control the children that kept climbing on things. I think what topped it off was visiting the 4D cinema only to find out that it was actually only 2D. The whole place is a rip off!
It's certainly not a place that I would visit again and it's such a shame as my son really loves his lego!

“Queue.queue...queue”

Written on: 14/08/2013 by oggiedoggie (2 reviews written)

legoland...oh dear. Their response to the queues...it is summer. Not an excuse...too many people for not enough rides. Their way in resolving a problem seems to build bigger queuing aisles for each ride and try to extort more money with a queue-bot, ....our experience today(Wednesday) 7hours 5 rides. Waiting for 90mins on 2of them and most were an hour wait. It's not a great experience when a 5 year old is keen to go on a ride but can no longer face another long queue.......great experience?… Read Full Review

“Don't bother!”

Written on: 13/08/2013

Well where do I start?! Firstly this place is way overpriced for nothing more than un-thrilling boring rides that you have to queue for up to an hour and a half to go on. We were at the park from 10am to 6pm and only managed to get on 5 rides all of which were over in a flash. If queuing for the rides wasn't bad enough there were queues for everything - drinks, food even a 20 minute queue for the toilet! There were far to many people in the park, pathways were difficult to access and we kept… Read Full Review

There yesterday and agree with everything you say. I would also comment that the are too greedy and stingy to put enough benches anywhere in the park. Rubbish place - my children ages 7, 10 and 11 NEVER want to go back

“Profit at the expense of customer experience!”

Written on: 12/08/2013

If you have a good product I don't mind paying. When you spend £200 for your family, you'd hope to get on some rides, in the end we ended up on 5 in 7 hours. At £8 per ride per person, the value is simply awful. All the extras are really expensive, qbot is an accessory which sums up the dreadful customer experience at the expense of profit. Why charge the customer for jumping queues. In business the government has made charging facilitation payments illegal under the bribery act. Here it is… Read Full Review

“Another "Queue Gardens"”

Written on: 06/08/2013 by Kraggy (12 reviews written)

We went to Legoland Windsor this weekend just gone, Four adults and six kids in total. The layout is practically the same as any other attraction theme park. Entry is expensive as is the food you will have to buy. This park milks money out of customers for all it is worth. As well as the entry fee, you pay for parking, drinks, food and inevitably, Lego toy shops. I saw some Lego sets at well over the £300 mark, what??? There are plenty of rides however, mainly aimed at smaller children. My… Read Full Review

My son and daughter-in-law experienced the same. They were there for 8 hours and managed to get on 6 rides, queuing for up to 90 minutes. How cynical can Legoland get? Appalling.

Steerhall's Response to Kraggy's Review

I disagree with the above. If you gain the coupons for 2 for 1 and pay for a child and get an adult in for free, it can work out a cheaper day. Ok yes you have to pay for parking and the food but you can always take your own picnic and save money there as well. There are always some type of promotion going online. We have been 5 times in 2013 and our daughter loves it. It can get busy but that's the same for all theme parks at their peak times.

"... I really do think that Legolands main priority is raking in money rather than customer satisfaction, and boy does it show...."

I've no doubt that Legolands is no different than any other similar 'attraction' that exists mainly to part you from your money.

Take the kids to St. James' Park where the swings are free and it would cost only a loaf of bread to feed the ducks and your youngsters would have more fun doing it.....IMHO.

“queues too long”

Written on: 26/06/2013

Legoland is a park aimed at younger children. They allow the queues to be too long for the short ride at the end. By charging q bot they bring a class system into the park. Children queuing fairly watch in despair as those with an expensive q bot jump to the front. If you pay entry i believe you should be guaranteed the possibility of going on every ride but as they pack it to over flowing it is not a possibility. You do not get what you believe you are paying for. After such long queues the… Read Full Review

yes agree, Q-BOT has 3 level, the top one, as legoland says reduces your queuing by 95% (thier statement) THIS IS SHOWING CHILDRDEN THE WRONG THING.
Legoland say that you can take the stress out of the day if you hire a Q-Bot.
they know if gives a bad impression to kids!!!

“Legoland rip off”

Written on: 04/06/2013 by Kieranmoloney (1 review written)

Only got to go a few rides even though we bought an express QBot ( cuts waiting times in half). When told by the QBot that you can now go for your ride we still ends up waiting another 10 minutes. 2 adults plus 2 children and 3 express QBots cost nearly £300!!!!! Weighting times for rides without the QBots was over an hour so you had to have them....never again… Read Full Review

“Nightmare - never again.”

Written on: 01/06/2013 by Denise0306 (1 review written)

I booked to go to Legoland as a treat for my niece, nephew and daughter - to get the most out of the day we stayed overnight at a Premier Inn as we live a distance away and I wanted us to get in for 10.00 am to make the most out of the day. We ended up queuing for over 3 hours in the car (we were staying only 5 miles away). After phoning Legoland we were advised to leave the car and go on foot (even though I had per-booked parking). We did this - but it's a long walk from the road especially… Read Full Review

“Nice Day Out”

Written on: 16/05/2013 by JudsonCoxson797 (3 reviews written)

We enjoyed the day with family and kids, it was nice to see especially the kids having such as great time in what is the park of one of their favorite games. I also believe in Lego as being a tool that can help develop some good mental faculties. The prices there are reasonable, though they could do better and make it a little cheaper so that more people would go. The place is well set, very good facilities all around, many rides and themes for the kids. Good place to take your kids in my… Read Full Review

“Heights an issue”

Written on: 15/05/2013

If you are going then check the height of your kids. If their under 0.9mtrs then they can't go on anything, between 0.9 and 1.3 then they have to ride with an adult, even though the rides are small and far from fast. Watch out for the metal height measuring tool too, hit my two year twice with it. I had no issues at all in euro Disney but here it's safety gone mad and to the extreme… Read Full Review

“Tired and Overpriced an Insult to Theme Parks”

Written on: 01/04/2013

As all the other reviews state this place is now tired and dated and way overpriced, apart from a couple of rides its very dull , and the food!! How can the food be so bad and so expensive after paying 40 odd pounds for entry £6.50 for a funking Panini ? And a Panini made with the lowest grade Tuna and Cheese . No heated areas anywhere to eat , seriously spend the money on Lego and stay home . Never again will i be suckered by LegobLand… Read Full Review

“Wish we'd never bothered.”

Written on: 29/03/2013

My son had been begging me for years to go to Legoland. We finally saved up enough money to go as we live 300 miles away. Well what can I say! It was very expensive to get in. We queued for over an hour for rides and only got to go on two the whole day because we'd had enough of queuing. The food park was expensive, dirty and poorly run. I waited 35 minutes to be served box of doughnuts by which time my coffee went cold. We bought hotdogs from a stand where two girls in there didn't have a… Read Full Review

“A "Wow" on my doorstep!”

Written on: 07/09/2012 by MrTambourineMan (12 reviews written)

Strange that I haven't been to Legoland sooner given that it is practically on my doorstep, but I guess that is often the way with things that are on your doorstep (also the kids have been there with various clubs so it was never a priority). Anyway I went last week as a little treat before the kids were due back at school and I was blown away. The place is fantastic! Yes, there are the usual honorific queues, but then I expected that the week before the schools go back. There is also enough… Read Full Review

“Nice park/hotel. Restaurant food wasn't very nice”

Absultly loved LegoLand and the submarine was amazing. Hotel was great just one thing spoilt it for me. I've got cancer got to be care. So played it safe had a kids choice from the buffet meals. And there was big bones in the food. Wasn't very nice. So put me and my partner off. And that cost £40!! Which is ridiculous. I told a member of the restrurant, when he ask food ok. I said "wasn't very nice had bones in kids food." he didn't say a word just looked at me. And gave me a receipt. Damn… Read Full Review
