One of the worst airlines ever and very rude customer service. To get to the customer service it will take 45 minutes. If you are traveling in economy you are screwed, you have no options to get your returns. If you plan to change your ticket you will be charged 95 GBP / ticket.
Also another stupidity is, you have to pay for changings your seats in the place you like, I'm not sure why do they charge for the tickets then.

Had to fly economy as this was only option available on what was considered a short haul flight, even though we were traveling from the United States in/out of Dublin. Had to pay excess luggage fees that cost more than our tickets as well as more than four nights at a five star hotel! I thought only EasyJet and Ryannair played this sort of scam. The flight was very uncomfortable due to the extreme low temperature-It was FREEZING.

Not Bad. While the seats were a bit small, I'm a tall guy so I understand - being stuck between two big guys didn't help. However, service was wonderful as all the FA's were pleasant and good-humored. The in-flight entertainment was good and there were a large number of options, though the pilot seemed to love interrupting with inane babble. The food was passable, but decent by airline standards. We sat on AE Flight 105, Sunday, June 20th for over FIVE (5) hours at the Dublin airport. We were offered, during that entire time, ONE (1) glass of water. That was it. There were babies, young children and elderly on this flight. Madee no difference. We were then towed to another gate and told to get off and wait. Last April I went to San Francisco with them for 333 Euro each way including taxes and charges!! The flight was bang on time, airport was good as usual and the aircraft was a lovely A330. It was good Friday and it was full but everyone calm and enjoying the flight. Nice takeoff, funny safety video and their new TV's in front of you are great. I was disappointed by the lack of professionalism of crew members on board a flight from Heathrow to Cork. They discussed their personal lives with one another whilst wheeling the trolleys up & down the isle. When interacting with the passengers there was a definite tone of superiority, snootieness even, that was embarrassing to hear. Sitting opposite me was a man dressed in a business suit and it was remarkable the difference in their tone when addressing him.

500 euro charge for 2nd piece of checked luggage. That's what we were told at check in. Since we were leaving from Romania the second piece of luggage would cost 500 euro. Is this not crazy? We watched a family next to us have to leave five pieces of luggage. We were on a transatlantic flight and on our next flight were allowed two pieces of checked baggage free. Aer Lingus is a terrible airline. It was the worst flying experience I have ever had. The flight was delayed and we were given no information what so ever apart from "it's delayed". I usually fly Ryanair (by far my favourite airline) and they do actually fly from Birmingham to Dublin but I flew Aer Lingus becuase My Aunt told me she really likes them. Horible service, and liers.
Overcharged for logages, and left them in Dublin airoport for 20hr unatendent.
Promised that 2 logages is alowable, however applied chharges for second logage. Left my blind mother with logages in airoport, however agreement was that logages won't be released.
Customer services responding one respond a month.

Following trip to Ireland to visit ill parent, flew Dublin to London with onward flight to Perth, Australia. Aer Lingus refused to book luggage through to Australia although I have never had problems previously with either Aer Lingus or other carriers. As my onward flight from London was business class, I had baggage weight of 26kg so, naturally, Aer Lingus charged me 6kg excess PLUS charged 18Euro for my bag. Just returned from a trip to Spain. We went to Malaga via Aer Lingus. Was unsure to let people know in case I can't get such a good deal again. Excellent flight, comfortable, roomy seats, polite air stewards, on time outbound and return (even got in early both ends) Very impressed. our Aer Lingus flight was suposoto be flying nyc-dublin. they said it had "mechanical problems" we had to take virgin atlantic instead to london, then transfer on a connecting flight, virgin ended up being late, we missed the connecting flight and they lost our bags. then on the way home aer lingus had another mechanical problem but we were already on the plane and couldnt take off for another 4 hrs we sat there and they ran out of food for the kids we were all starving and they didnt have… Read Full Review

Thought I would try them out to compare with my usual carrier.
Checked in from home before the flight and was able to choose my seat. Left on time and arrived early. Was very impressed by the crew on both flights, professional, friendly, and very willing to help, new clean plane with adequate legroom. Will def fly with Aer Lingus again… Read Full Review

Haven't flown AerLingus in years because of bad service, but recently booked flights for my children - 14 and 11 - to visit family for the summer in Ireland. Just as I completed reservation I saw that they weren't going to allow my youngest to fly unaccompanied (Continental does allow this). I immediatley called Aer Lingus to cancel the ticket (literally 2 minutes after processing) and was told by the agent "gee, I guess you have a problem." I fly Aer Lingus very frequently and have done so for many years. I find their product to be 100% consistent.
Flight attendants are always professional, and to be honest, amongst the friendliest I have come across on any airline.
Pilots always keep passengers updated on flight status.

I regularly fly london to Ireland &back and have used Aer Lingus many times.
