“Aer Lingus worst air line in the world”

Flew into Gatwick 7:30am 27th with Virgin from USA connecting flight to Dublin with Aer Lingus cancelled Aer Lingus left us and rest of passengers to make our own arrangements finally sent to Heathrow by bus and given flight to Belfast 12 hrs late and to wrong destination as boarding stopped and told sorry the manager a lady called Gwano had cancelled our tickets as we where Aer Lingus Gatwicks problem and not Aer Lingus Hearhrows problem some elderly passengers whom I had taken under my wing… Read Full Review

what cheats, charging me for drinks i did not order, calling me names, such borish scttish irish manners, they still think they are vikings, no one i know will ever come to ireland scotland, i certainly will not return, this is by far the worst treatment, tours are horrific , but not in your face cheats.

“bad customer service”

On every front they are lacking. To start my flight, they wouldn't provide me with seats together with my 5 and 7 year old children on an international flight. A flight attendant finally worked it out, but that's a bit late. Then they lost my luggage for two days and were not forth coming with information and very difficult to contact. “Online check in a RIP OFF.”

I wasnt interested in 'purchasing' a seat so I left it until 28 hours before my flight heathrow to dublin because when I did that on previous occasions there was no charge. The website informed me that "its too close to departure time" and did not allow online check in. So I now have to travel to gatwick earlier than planned. This is the kind of thing the dreadful Ryanair specialises in and are pilloried in the media. About time the media put Aer Lingus in the same catagory. Very poor service… Read Full Review

“$37 to check a 40 pound bag for a 50 min flight!!!!”

“Worst airline to fly with”

Flew from Boston to London with KLM. Fantastic experience from staff to actual journey. Car crash in London on Sept 3 rd at 4pm while trying to get to the airport for 7pm giving myself plenty so time to catch the flight. Arrived late at 6.55pm airhostess extremely aggressive and explained that I could not bored the flight to Belfast. Offered another flight to Dublin at 8.10pm but had to pay 60 pound sterling . “Mediocre business class”

Had a perfectly fine flight flying from JFK to Dublin two weeks ago but can't say the same for return flight yesterday. at 5.10 PM Considering there were 2 flight attendants covering 24 seats in business class it was very casual, sloppy service. A male flight attendant was friendly but "absentminded"...forgot requests....they rarely checked to see if anyone needed refills on drinks...a lot of people had empty water glasses. I recently returned from my holiday on an Aer Lingus flight and found my entire experience the least customer friendly experience I have ever had with an airline. My biggest concern is that I had some belongings stolen from my checked bag. They showed amazing generosity and compassion, sadly missing from most airlines, to allow me and my family to get a flight out fre of charge as we had problems making a connection. Truly brilliant! I have just returned from my trip to Spain.  I contacted aer lingus on the 17/05/12 to advise of a recent knee injury.  I was instructed by the airline to submit an incad form which I returned on the 22/05/12.  This was confirmed as having being received. I was told that I would be contacted when a decision had been made as to whether or not I would be allowed to fly. My husband and I with four friends enjoyed a fabulous vacation through Aer Lingus in Oct,2011. Customer service answered questions in advance, Dan Dooley car rental was great. “Appalling Customer Service at their London Heathrow...”

After being delayed in Singapore by our carrier we arrived in London too late for our Dublin connection. We had given ourselves over 3.5 hours to make the connection but our flight was 4 hours late. We were treated with contempt as we were told that we did not turn up for our flight so if we wanted to get on another flight we would have to purchase full fare tickets. Absolutely true. My husband and I travel a great deal and I can honestly say we have never flown with a more inept airline. Horrendous is the only way to describe our treatment.

I will NEVER book a Flight with Aer Lingus again, My Mother and Son were booked on a flight to Shannon, unfortunately for personal reasons they were unable to go. After reading all these reviews, I was shocked that they were so bad. I can only say good things about this airline. My son & I were stuck in San Francisco for 8 hours, worried we would miss are flight leaving JFK via Aer Lingus (JFK had only one runway open due to high winds.) Aer Lingus texted me letting me know their flight would leave at 3:00 a.m due to the Volcanic cloud. We raced through JFK, greeted by a nice ticket agent and made our flight! Unbelievable! After having to continually chase a refund for a cancelled business flight in Dec 2010 (snow) and being unable to contact them by email, waiting twice the indicated time to receive my refund and being told different stories by their call centre staff about the progress of my claim you would think I would have had the sense to give them a miss but like a fool I chose to travel with them to Rome recently.

I had the same nightmare experience with them last December, I have since flown with EJ, BA, Monarch, Ryanair and Iberia to and from UK , and whilst not all flights were on time etc, at least there were decent communications. you have my sympathy
