I have been a Virgin Media customer for years, in fact right back to the days of Telewest. For approx the last 4 months my broadband internet connection speed has been awful. I am currently subscribed to their SUPERFAST 100mb service but I am lucky to get SUPERSLOW 1mb on evenings and weekends. “Frustrating”

we changed from Optus to Virgin wireless internet because the plan was better and they use the same network so assumed the serveice would be the same. The service has been hopeless. Internet is incredibly slow and cuts out frequently. We are are much worse off than we were with Optus. Customer service said Virgin customers wait in line after Optus customers. Hi ive been a loyal customer to virgin for about 2 years i pay my bills on time so i keep my end of the agreement the same cant be saud for virgin. We have had intermittent internet access for a few weeks now and so has our neighbour. The Virgin website stated that there were no problems in our area. The Virgin person we spoke to suggested the problem was with our box but when my partner stated that it could not be the case as our neighbour was having problems too we were told that there was a problem in our area that should be sorted by Wednesday 12/12/12... “Lies, untrained staff and managers with poor services.”

We have been having issues every month for over 2 years. I upgraded to the fibre of VM almost 8 months ago hoping that it will resolve the BB issues we have. I got the Super hub in the fitted and found that there were more issues. The BB troubles didn't stop there at all. I would be on the phone every other week with issues. “Awful customer service.”

I got everything i asked for with Virgin Broadband, as far as the actual service goes. Its if you run into a problem that the trouble crops up. Virgin Media have offshore call centers, in India to be exact. I'm sure this is great to keep their costs down but not so great for me. Go somewhere else. Paying for 30mb, regularly get about 300kbps. Rarely get more than 15 Meg Using the router in modem mode, fibre optic etc. Cannot create a faster setup. Left me without a working phoneline (despite billing me for one) for nearly a year. “Got what I paid for”

I joined Virgin Media in November 2012 60Mb broadband and telephone. A friend recommended me He got £50 off his bill and I got free installation and the two men who came to install it were brilliant and were very pleasant. when they showed me the speed i would get it was 66Mb more that the 60Mb I was promised.I got my first email to let me know my bill could be viewed on line.and the money would not be taken from my Direct Debit till December 17th I also got an extra £30 off my first bill.So… Read Full Review

If you are a resident of NW3, I strongly advise you AGAINST getting Virgin Broadband. Their connection is always slow, and service disruptions are frequent. The reply of customer service is always the same ("It will be fixed") but nothing ever happens. I have now decided to terminate my contract with them and will refuse to pay the penalty charge for early termination. If anyone in NW3 is in the same position, please get in touch with me. “Fastest broadband in the country... WHEN IT WORKS...”

Which isn't very often! I am on the 50mb/s broadband service, and it can be fantastic, but only when it actually works! About 70% of the time it will work fine, but occasionally it will just die, essentially... The internet goes very slowly, if it doesn't die completely for a few hours. Lately has been the worst service I've ever had from them. The internet speed is constantly slow! Gaming is impossible, unless you like extreme rubber-banding... “VM is a rip off ”

I've been with Virgin for one year now, and the connection is always running slow in the evenings, and occasionally I am without internet. There is an increase in the price of the broadband for the last year , stating that 20MB of connection , when it is actually 2KB. “VM are in such a mess by oversubscribing.”

I have been with VM formerly Blueyonder since inception and have had mixed service, Sadly to say since the take over by Virgin the service continues to spiral into the slow to unusable mode. They have concentrated on maximizing there efforts in mass media advertising in order to stay ahead of the new upcoming broadband providers and have oversubscribed a lot of there area's infrastructure capabilities. I am with Blueyonder as well since it's inception and even though there has been some slight slowing down during peak periods due to traffic shaping to say it slows down to 5MB seems ludicrous?

Where abouts in the country are you based out of interest?

You should be getting on the phone to Virgin immediately to sort this because this is not everyones experience and certainly shouldn't be yours.

FYI ... I hit 90-95% promised speeds during the majority of my usage time.

We got virgin in august 2011 and it worked pretty well for about 2 weeks, then it just stopped, with no explanation at all. Can't even load webpages, and this isn't just at peak time, even in the morning and midday its absolutely horrible.Called virgin in November and they said it would be fixed by January 2012 ITS NOW NOVEMBER 2012 and it's even worse, POOR quality and service, Richard Branson should take a look into what he is selling to his customers… Read Full Review

Cowboys! Their Helpdesk is a disgrace, no-ever believes what you tell them. My 30MB drops to 0.3 EVERY evening from 17:00 to 22:00 which make it redundant as a service because that is the only time I am there to use it. They do not believe it to be a problem but check our their support forums! It is rammed full of people all with the same issue and it still isn't taken seriously. I agree with above. Virgin are milking customers for money. I am now paying for 60GB service and getting less than 10 - usually 5!. The service is less reliable than when I was on 2MB with good old Telewest! Its been downhill ever since - except for the prices. Branson should be ashamed!

I agree that whatever the quality of the product (which is below average by the way) they are the most obnoxious people I've ever had to deal with.
Best way is to get rid of them as soon as you can if you ever made a deal with them.
On top of that they never hesitate to bill you for anything that all the loopholes in their terms allow them to. With the great benediction of Cisas, Ofcom or other clowns who don't give a damn about protecting customers in the UK.
