Having decided to order Tiscali broadband and then stumbled across some unfavourable reviews I awaited delivery of my installation cd and modem with some trepidation, however my fears were unfounded.

Its really not good to see that review. But I did have the same issue. I was on 256k and found that new customers are getting speeds at 512k with lower price than my package. They say it's only when things go wrong that you truly appreciate a company's customer service. With Tiscali, I discovered they were offering new customers the same service as existing customers for almost £10 a month less! They did not even tell existing customers this. Again, some time later ...

I joined Tiscali last year (2004) on 512 speed broadband, and things were fine. When my years contract was up, I was sent an email informing me of a free speed upgrade to 1mb. Things then went downhill rapidly.

All of a sudden, around May 2005, my speed dropped to as low as dial-up (really!). ...

Its OK saying just cancel the direct debit to Tiscali Broadband. I haven't had one in place since feb this year, they just carried on charging and then on the 13th June decided to set one up themselves without any permission. I've been trying since March to cancel the account (contract ended in Jan) ...

Tiscali www.tiscali.co.uk: Which is better - sign up for a telephone/ internet service with Tiscali or have a leach stuck on your backside? Choose the leach - it will be less painful and easier to disconnect from! Tiscali have some nice adverts. Once in you find their resolution of technical issues ...

Tiscali Broadband might be cheap - but in my opinion it's not worth it - the connection just isn't constant or stable enough to be usable.

Could I suggest that people who are unhappy with the poor customer service and feel they are not being provided with the service they signed up just CANCEL THEIR DIRECT DEBITS. Then, when Tiscali try to chase up the money to fulfil the 12mth contract, you might get somebody British. Then you can tel ...

I've been on tiscali broadband for a year now and really have had no problems. I am surprised at the number of people here who have. Setup was simple and quick, it runs very quick (especially since the free upgrade to 10x, i consistently hit 120kB/s download speed) and disconnections are very rare. ...
