I have called 4 times to get my refund handled correctly and everytime the operator can not handle the call say's I need to transfer this call to a supervisor and we get put on endless hold until they hang up on us. Rudy actually said oh here is my supervisor right here, one moment and did the same thing. SPIRIT AIRLINES SUCKS. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH SPIRIT AIRLINES

“racially profiled”

Until it happens to you you would not understand. Because I don't. Why out of hundred of passengers did I have to pay $65.00 for a small bag that I've carried on without a price before. I saw a least 3 or 4 passengers before me several passengers walking without a charge. Then when I asked why the young lady act like she didn't understand English. And when I asked why I'm paying and not the other passenger she didn't answer. When she really should have gotten someone who could have explain the process. I have my son with me and its his FIRST vacation and the worst me me and him, because she took money I wasn't really able to pay, for no good reason. She didn't even weight the bag or even try to put in the the bag size thing or anything. We maybe won't EAT or one day we are here because of her actions. But there was one flight attendant that cared.

“Shocking & disgraceful”

Where to start, I know you get what you pay for but Spirit Airlines are frankly horrific. Even as a budget Airline. The worst experience I have ever had with an Airline and being Active Duty Military I've used a few Airlines. They cancelled our flights due to bad weather. However every other Airline flying to Lax this day seemed manage perfectly fine. Spent about $330 for the flight,they refunded me $44 for the flight they canned. The staff at the check-in desk were not helpful at all. It's a shame they didn't put as much effort into trying to help us as they did huffing and puffing about having to give a refund. So in the end Spirits inability to fly in make believe bad weather conditions meant that we had to purchase 2 new tickets home with a different Airline to the tune of $846. Man that $44 made all the difference. Nice to see this how they treat their Military members. Where would we all be now if the Military was as incompetent as these bafoons. If you can't do the basics right Spirit, don't bother doing anything at all. It's only a matter of time before you go under!!!

“GOUGED!”

Take /southwest! Already $200.00 extra dollars into this flight and I haven't boarded. Bracing for the worst. If they stick it to you this bad before you board can't imagine what the flight will be like. Very sorry I thought this would be an inexpensive flight from Portland OR to Las Vegas. Will definately tell everyone I know to steer away from this airline.

“I flew on Spirit on 1/11/18 from Cleveland, Oh to...”

I flew on Spirit on 1/11/18 from Cleveland, Oh to Atlanta Ga returning on 1/15/18. I got in the line to board the agent informed me that I would have to pay for my carry on bag &65. I informed her that this bag met all the necessary spirit airline requirements according to the information given as well as the size container displayed. Now hence my flight total was $168 car included. This is the same bag that I came in from Cleveland with and I was not charged so how can the same company (spirit) have different rules in different states. She informed me that the carry-on is considered a duffle bag. Really. This girly bag is a duffle. I asked for a manager she said that the manager is in another part of the airport and would not come. Well first that is an assumption. I paid the $65 only to inform the agent that I would be contacting Corporate. Now I contact Spirit via email. And I must say I did get a prompt reply. Well they decided to give me back $10. Are you kidding after several emails and no further refunds given. I informed spirit that I will not fly them again ever in life due to their nickel and dime promotions along with the carry on scheme. Take my advice you are better off flying Southwest. Also the gentleman next to me had the same size bag and he informed me that he didn't pay for carry-on fee. I did ask spirit so what would they have done if I didn't have a credit, debit or cash available. She avoided that question. I sent it again with ?????? Southwest it is!!!!!

“Terrible Customer Service! ”

On a positive note, I flew with Spirit Airlines last year and took my three young kids with me. The flight was wonderful and flawless. The flight crew was wonderful and made for a wonderful flight! That being said, their customer service is horrible and, absolutely, rude and condensending. Trying to honor my "miles" with them has been a nightmare. First, I'm told that I don't have any miles and that all my miles had "expired". So, I book a trip. A few days later, I receive a notice telling me that I have 15,775 miles that will be expiring. I call to inquire on this and get the complete run around and then transferred to a woman in the "miles Dept". This woman tells me that I actually have 32,929 miles. But, oops, can't use those miles on the trip that I just booked (after I was told that all of my miles had expired). I could, however, cancel my reserved trip and re-book it and I could use my miles at that time. For a simple fee of $413!!! So, I call back and speak to Customer service again and I'm told that there has been NO phone calls from me in the past 5 months. I ask to talk to a Supervisor and Mr. RUDE "JC" comes to the phone and, basically, calls me a liar! Then, after degrading me, tells me "since you booked with "flight flex", you can cancel your reservation online and there will be "no fees". So, he hangs up with me and I go online to cancel my reservation and....guess what? Yup...there's a fee of $413!! I call right back and now I speak with someone. So, he tells me, there's no record of phone calls from me for the past 5 months!! What about the 40 minute call that I JUST had with Mr. RUDE... yah, no record. So, again, I'm a liar!! I am a professional person who works for a Government Agency and I would never treat the public in the way that I have been treated by this Airline and their extremely rude representatives. They lie!! Obviously, I'm forced to go through with my future trip because, like most, can't lose out on $413. After that, I will NEVER use Spirit again!!

“Horrible customer service”

You can't get any service no one returns calls if you have a problem they obviously don't want to hear about it. Was trying to retrieve a suitcase we left behind by mistakingly taking wrong bag on arrival, After waiting a whole day for a return call I went back to airport to baggage claim same carosoul ...there was my bag I could see it locked up with a name tag and phone # why didn't they call isn't that why we put tags on? Anyway no one but sprit ticket desk could help me but ticket desk has very limited hours so I stood for 1 1/2 hrs waiting for someone to show up. She walked me right to baggage claim I got my bag and was on my way. Was charged $12 for parking while at airport so more extra $ which total was $162. How do they get away with selling you a ticket then emailing you that they noticed you hadn't purchased your seats... ripping off customers! I will never fly spirit again and everyone I can tell this story to I will enough people spreading the word should be bad for your business I hope

“a bad deal”

This is not the cheapest airline. Jet Blue between Oralndo and Aguadilla Puerto Rico is cheaper and has much better service. The Spirit planes are more like a bus - uncomfortable seats. You have to pay even for carry on luggage. They won't even give you a glass of water. It will cost you $3. I will never travel with this airline again.

“Horrible airline that does not put the customer first”

I had a horrible experience with this airline. I traveled approx. 4 hours to get a Spirit airline flight out of Baltimore Md. and when we arrived we were told that the flight was delayed approx. 4 hrs., and then it was cancelled as we waited approximately 4 hrs. away from home, and our friends were inconvenienced in Florida waiting for us to arrive. We were told that the scheduled plane needed a part and there were not any back up Spirit planes available to do flight. One plane for a destination with no back up planes in the event that something happens - really - not good. Apology and vouchers were emailed for me and my husband, but when I attempted to use the vouchers the flight prices were extremely high in price, and later I was told that I couldn't use the vouchers in the month I was told because I was 8 days off of the voucher date. No flexibility or other accommodations were offered or given in consideration of the horrible inconvenience on our previous trip to Florida. Customer service is at the core of any business, and I have found that the Spirit Airline customer service is horrible. DO NOT USE SPIRIT AIRLINE! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SPIRIT AIRLINE!

“Do not book with Spirit!”

IF YOU ARE READING THIS REVIEW, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHT WITH SPIRIT AIRLINES. YOU MAY NEVER MAKE IT TO YOUR DESTINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I recently booked a ticket for myself, my two adult sons and my grandson for a trip back home for a family event. We selected Spirit because of the reasonable cost even though the departure airport was 1 ½ hours from Charleston, SC. The airport location was Myrtle Beach, SC and we drove up there on Thursday, September 14th to spend the night so we would not miss the early morning flight out on Friday, September 15th to Philadelphia, PA. We arrived at the airport bright and early and waited in line to check our bags. After waiting for 30 minutes, one of your staff started yelling for all of those customers who booked the Myrtle Beach to Philadelphia flight, to move to another line because the flight had been cancelled. We were shocked to hear this. I had been notified by email at 4:45 am that morning but failed to read the email. When we got to the desk, my question was “what are our options?” Your staff member told me to come back the next day which was Saturday. I told her that wouldn’t work because my son would lose the cost of the hotel reservation because he was cancelling without 24 hour notice and we would incur an additional night’s cost for hotel accommodations in Myrtle Beach. We were also attending a family event that evening that was critical to our attendance. There were no other options provided by the Spirit staff member. Her explanation for the cancellation was it was due to the hurricane. I would expect that one, two, three or ever four days after that event, but almost a week was hard to swallow. Apparently, the hurricane did not impact the other two airlines adjacent to Spirit because they were ready and able to assist. Ultimately, I booked with Delta Airlines. Needless to say, this cost me a lot more money for my outgoing flight than what I paid for my Spirit flight and had to fly to Philadelphia via Detroit. Regardless of the harrowing day, we did arrive in time for our family event…with no credit going to any one at Spirit. While waiting for our flight, we checked other options Spirit may have provided had they had any semblance of trying to satisfy their customers. There was a flight to Atlantic City…could have rented a car there and driven to Delaware. A mere 1 hour from our destination. There was a flight to Baltimore…could have rented a car there and driven to Delaware. A mere 1 ½ hours from our destination. Could have flown into LaGuardia and probably hopped on a short commuter to Philadelphia….but none of these options were provided by the Spirit staff…just…come back tomorrow! Because our car was parked at Myrtle Beach airport, we had to arrange for our return flight back to Myrtle Beach and unfortunately, Spirit was our only option. When booking the return flight, I contacted Spirit and asked your representative to waive our checked bag fee due to the additional expenses and inconvenience we encountered and I was told in no uncertain words, NO! Didn’t make me happy. Didn’t show me you care about your customers. Didn’t make me want to ever book with Spirit again. Did make me promise to hit every social media platform to post my rant about the HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU SHOW YOUR PASSENGERS. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, TO THOSE PEOPLE READING THIS REVIEW, DO NOT BOOK YOUR FLIGHT WITH SPIRIT AIRLINES. “Can't check in”

Keep getting an error on the website for check in. I have been on hold on the phone for over 50 minutes. This is getting ridiculous. The recording keeps saying to go to the website. Right.

“Just plain RUDE!!!”

As a world traveler, I had not experienced such rude behavior from a customer rep before, as I received today. My flight #254 DFW to Boston on Sept. 10th was canceled. (BOARDING PASS CONF #TF1CWA) I approached the ticket counter and asked for assistance to find another flight . She said she could not help me with no concern or care. The only thing she could do was refund my money, which she did. There were at least 4 reps just standing there looking ,none would help, They were enjoying my frustration. No offer to help. Never again will I fly Spirit ,an airline where the customer comes last. Extremely POOR customer service

“Worse Airline Ever”

8/21/2017 flew spirit airline from Sea Tac to Las Vegas had no problems getting luggage on, there was 3 people in our party however when we went to board from Las Vegas back to Sea Tac with the exact same luggage they told all 3 of us plus 4 other people that we would have to pay $65 to have our bags checked all of us tried to reason with the woman at the boarding gate/check in but they weren't having anything to do with being nice.. We were given plastic see through bags to put our stuff in including personal items... How is that you can get on at one destination with your luggage and have no issues but trying to get back home is a pain in the ASS..I will never fly this airline again and have told all my friends not to fly this airline either, I think they realize that people are tired and want to go home so they try to charge them for baggage...If there was a negative star for this airline they would get a negative infinity star, absolute horrible airline which is why they are so cheap to fly.. Had to leave all our new luggage behind think they will reimburse us Hell NO... Don't fly with this airline it won't be pretty I promise...

“HORRIBLE!”

Spirit Airlines is the worst airlines I have ever flown with. They cancel flights at the last minute and then you're stuck in an airport to fend for yourself. Everyone I know who has flown with them has complained. Also, if you sign up for the $9 fare club, they automatically bill you every year and you cannot cancel unless you cancel prior to your renewal date. There are no refunds or pro-rates when you cancel. In other words, when you join thinking it's a good deal and then you find out you don't get $9 deals, you're stuck paying not $59.95, but $69.95 annually. And when you discover you've been billed, you can't call to ask any questions or to cancel. Forget about trying to call and speak with anyone at customer service, because you can't. Their website is designed so it's impossible! Bottom Line: Spirit Airlines is a major rip-off!!!!!! Please spread the word! You'll be much better off flying with another airline, even if it costs more. Believe me, I know lots of travelers and they all agree they will never fly with Spirit again. I really don't know how they can stay in business!

“NO STARS worse ever, why spirit airline still exist”

flight canceled because there was no pilots ,lied about refund, no employers to assist with customer service. They charged me for carry on, baggage check and for 2 flights round trip. We never even got on plane. Worst part was before cancelation of flight. they said it would be delayed and had us waiting for 2 hours. after that we had to wait in a anger crowded line. With 2 spirit employers working. One was giving out hotel voucher's and the other was checking bags for another flight.

I booked a package deal with Vegas.com, it used Spirit. When I read the reviews I called Vegas.com to see if I could switch airlines.....they would not let me. But it was perfect. From check -in to arriving in Las Vegas and back. Crews were great, we arrived early both ways. My Husband said we would def fly Spirit again! Don't be afraid like I was. Seats were very comfy. Employees were professional and courteous.

“Cancelled flight”

“Great flight”

No frills, on time, pleasant professional crew. Flight from Boston to Fort Myers 2/22/17 and return flight 4/1/2017. Delayed in Fort Myers due to weather. Other airlines were also delayed.Able to purchase a cocktail on board for the price in an airport bar. A little cramped but a comfortable flight. If you want a cheap flight with no frills, this is worth it.

“If I could give it a zero I would”

Worst experience of my life from top to bottom. Nickel and dimes you for EVERYTHING. Calling into the customer service there was an absolute atrocity. They literally only know five words that they were taught from their training manual. Spoke to a supervisor and he was God awful as well. Pray you never have to speak with the "supervisor" Cory. He doesn't know his ass from his face. To whomever is reading this, NEVER fly spirit. In the end you will save maybe $11 but the headache will last a lifetime. Pay the extra money and fly a respectable airline.
