Where to begin..
1. flight cancelled (these things happen, I know), but only after keeping us all waiting for HOURS.
2. only ONE PERSON at the desk to serve the WHOLE AIRPLANE full of passengers, many, like us, desperate to get somewhere on time. ONE PERSON!!!

Delta shows very little regard for honoring its promise to fly you to your destination in a timely manner, and it does very little to make up for this. I will avoid flying Delta whenever possbile. It is the worst airline in the U.S. I look forward to supporting other airlines that are able to keep their end of the bargain and show respect to their customers.
I trust that more and more airlines will stand very tall to Delta, and Delta will eventually go out of business. It will be a great day… Read Full Review

First of all the day before we left for vacation we get a call from Delta saying that our connecting flight has been cancelled and they would not give us a reasoning. Our lay over was only suppose to be an hour but instead it edned up being 4 1/2 hours!!

Our flight was canceled with virtually no explanation, like another passenger said, I am sure that it was canceled because they had overbooked. Customer service was awful!!!! and when we asked the girl at the counter if any of their partner airlines had space she proceeded to tell us "since you did not purchase a business or first class ticket we cannot put you on our Air France flight" Very insensitive, rude and obnoxious. My son flew as an unaccompanied minor from DTW to LAX this past January. When I went to pick him up at the gate, they switched me to another gate. After waiting for a while, I asked again and they told me he would be arriving at yet another gate. After waiting for him again, I was then told he was at the original gate! As I ran back to the 1st gate, he was just getting out with a stranger. My son saw me and ran to me. The man dropped his bag and took off.

ZERO stars! If you need to be somewhere, do NOT take Delta. You won't get there! They lie, they're rude, constant gate changes, cancelled flights. They cancelled my flight and did not care if I ever got another flight. I was totally stranded after waiting 5 hours due to what they called a toilet problem, they cancelled the flight. En route to Canada we had to take 2 flights - both flights were delayed by 3+ hours due to plane waiting for a crew to arrive from another flight...
En route home to the US from Canada, had to take 2 flights. First flight was overbooked and delayed and on the second flight there were mechanical difficulties, yet airline kept all passengers seated on the plane by the gate for 2+ hours. First, I fly a lot so I know how ticketing works. Normally, for business I my corporate travel books my flights. However, I was traveling for pleasure when this nightmare occurred.
In April, I booked two tickets online for a May flight ATL - NYC, the ticket price went down the next day. I called Delta and spoke with a CSR who said she'd refund my tickets and rebook. On the whole a good experience. Slightly vague staff on the flights but friendly enough. Seats were quite comfy, the food was nothing special but edible and the in flight entertainment was fair enough.. There were delays on the outward and inward flights but not due to Delta.
The check in staff at Heathrow were great- made a very nice apology for the delay. Quite generous with the wine and were happy to give a refill...

Out of our 4 flights with delta none were on time, causing my boyfriend and I to miss 2 connections. We arrived at the airport almost 3 hours before the flight landed sat at the gate and waited, soon we realized we were late boarding, the gentleman working at the counter announced we would begin boarding in approx. 5 minutes,this lasted an hour. Absolutely no coordination on this flight from Phoenix to Detroit. Boarding started 10 minutes late and the flight attendants were telling people to get in their seats so they could leave on time. At the scheduled departure time the captain said there would be a delay for a few minutes because they were finishing up the maintenance log. Delta Airlines is the worst airline I have ever flown. Terrible customer service. Absolutely chaotic. I arrive 3 hours ahead of time at the airport and Delta could not get me on my flight. The flight crew from Memphis to Amsterdam was the worst ever. None of the flight attendants obviously enjoyed their job. They didn't care about service or about customer satisfaction. Two of them were so wide-sorry but true_they couldn't get down the aisle. They barreled through with the carts-I pity the poor people on the aisle seats. They got bumped throughout the entire flight.

Delta Kiosk Check In... "You MUST use the Kiosk first"
I'm writing this because it actually played out like a Seinfeld routine.
My daughter planned a trip to visit us with our new infant grandchild from Europe.
I've frequently traveled Delta and found their customer service excellent.
In fact, leaving Europe with the infant was a pleasant experience.

first, getting in to the airport in Detroit,one line had 4 workers, but only 3 people in line, the other, the longest line there and only 1 worker, we went to the short line and asked for her to help b/c we didn't print our boarding pass, she said go do it yourself, after finding the info, doing it ourselves, she helped my husband, then starting chatting up the girl next to her, then left, then another girl doing nothing helped me. flight was short(1 1/2 hr) and roomy but late,an hour late… Read Full Review

Delta is useless. Flight delayed and it was absolutely painful to redirect baggage (because I missed the connection flight due to their engineering problems). 6 hours late on flight out. 8 hours late on flight back. Absolute chaos in their communications to customer who they treat like cattle. I have not flown Delta in a LONG time (usually fly American or Southwest if at ALL possible) and will do everything possible never to fly them again. Truly a terrible travel experience with Delta.
