“Terrible service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Noreenc on 15/09/2023

At the end of choosing photos for printing, and paying, a message appears on screen to say no paper for receipt and see a member of staff. On the whole of the ground floor in Boots Watford, one member of staff on tils so couldn’t get help. Started again on another machine then had to wait 20 minutes for the person in front of me to prints (there being only one machine to print), Now I have two credit card charges and not a member of staff in sight to help. Never again!

“Awful Awful Awful”

★☆☆☆☆

written by TheoStainbank on 11/08/2023

I ordered 56 6x4 prints. I collected the prints after waiting 9 days. They came in 4 different sizes. Staff at Boots Bexleyheath could not have been more unhelpful saying that my contract was with Cewe despite the service being marketed as Boots Photo. The complaints procedure is onerous and designed to discourage. I definitely will not use them again and will try a different printer.

“Awful Service & Company”

★☆☆☆☆

written by wjThomson354 on 30/05/2023

Awful Service - thought was order pics to collect later at my local Boots Store (to save printing/queuing) and advise upon completion of order 9/10 working days!! Phoned Customer Service within 2 mins of placing order and couldn’t find someone more unhelpful - no responsibility accepted despite breaking Sale of Goods Act 1975 Distance Selling Regs - taking to Credit Card out of principle. Avoid this company that is NOT Boots!!!

“Hopeless”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Etruria on 24/09/2022

Dreadful new machines, the old ones were straightforward. These are counterintuitive, explanation almost non existent. Couldn't do half my pics, even with help. No staff till summoned from floor below. Then I have to say the assistant was really doing her best for me - I felt sorry for her! The system is at fault. It is useless. Boots should be ashamed at offering such a depressing experience. Will be recommending that friends keep clear! Nobody else was attempting to use these things - in the past, all machines were well-used.

“Poor quality prints and poor on line support from...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by vjKeith204 on 27/06/2018

Poor quality of prints. I tested one in store to print instantly which came out in quite good quality so I placed an order for lots of reprints online but when this was delivered in the post, I found the quality extremely poor. Insipid colours. I then contacted the help on line support at Snapchat. The guy was unhelpful.. If you have precious moments to print I would suggest you stay away from Boots photo altogether to avoid such disappointment.

“Order lost so refund given with no support for replacement”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 13/04/2018

Waited, waited and waited to receive photobook that took ours to make for store pick up. Spent hours going to the store to check it had arrived due- no luck. Chat was instant, friendly and understanding but absolutely no help at all! Confirmed that order had been sent and store confirmed it had not been delivered. Ok- easy solution- sort me out with a replacement photobook asap. NOPE. They give me a refund and 20 free photos. No help in getting the actual book I ordered! Had to reorder myself and will have to wait another 2 weeks to recisve the book- if it ever turns up! At this rate I might as well save it for next years birthday present as the surprise this year has been completely ruined. Good chat customer service but clearly the people on the other end are not given permission or able to help in the slightest. Get rid of the service if there is going to be no service.

“customers are an irritation to the staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by starbox on 26/02/2018

I'm not technically minded. Have attempted to use Boots photo service 3 times: first time assistant wouldnt help me to use machine for first time in my life ("havent got time, you have to do it yourself") (Tesco dont refuse to assist with the vastly easier self-service tills!) Received A1 service at Snappy Snaps. BUT Boots is much cheaper so ventured back in and found a helpful fellow customer to assist. Went in today, and was told "all photo staff off till 1 pm) - the assistant holding the fort seemed untrained, so had to give up. Very poor 'service' indeed!!

“rubbish delivery service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 222Fisher on 18/11/2017

The delivery service is absolute rubbish. Order placed on the 12th was due to be delivered on the 17th. On the 18th it had still not arrived so contacted customer services who told me to "wait a few more working days" as there are sometimes delays with the post!

“Awful quality”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tyb61 on 23/10/2017

I had an awful experience. Wanted to make a card with professional photos from our wedding. Printed one card as a test - using a very high resolution JPEG - and it came out awfully. The quality was substandard (honestly looked worse than printing a photo from Facebook!) and the colours were off too. It didn't look anything like the original, beautiful photo. I paid £2.99 for a next day collection photo card. I asked for a refund as it was so bad.

“Dreadful photos- unhelpful staff!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 12/07/2017

Boots in Bromley. Had 25 7x5 photos printed - one hour service. The pick up time showing was 3hours after ordering so I very politely raised my concerns with the member of staff who said I should ignore ALL the details given on the confirmation and just give my name to collect my photos. When I did collect my photos - staff member was nowhere to be seen. There were many people trying to order photos who clearly needed help but no one was around. I asked another member of staff if anyone was working on that particular section; she'd gone for a quick break!! Now the photos- extremely poor quality and 5 of the 25 were so badly cropped. Now I do understand about the proportions being different to the original photo but surely if they see they have chopped off someone's forehead or ear they can make an adjustment? Seriously- it's not rocket science! Apparently not! All they do is push a button and the 'machine' does the rest! Churn 'em out - never mind the quality. My advice- avoid Boots photo processing and go somewhere that actually cares about producing good work and having satisfied customers!

“disappointed”

written by on 19/12/2016

Ordered two personalised mouse mats in plenty of time for xmas. When i went to collect on the planned arrival day i was told the items had been dispatched by the supplier but had not been received by my boots store. Boots have issued a memo to other boots stores to try and find the mats. I was told they could re-submit my order but the mats would not be ready for Xmas, they also kindly reminded me that it was a busy time and that there were other customers waiting for their orders. I can only keep my fingers crossed . Thanks boots.

“Shocking customer service”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 09/12/2016

Have used Boots Photo (order online to collect in store) twice now; first time I was given an estimated collection time but told to wait to receive confirmation it was ready - waited for a few hours after estimated time but was on a tight schedule so went to store to be told it wasn't ready yet due to staff breaks! I should've learnt my lesson but decided to use the service again to order over 600 photo prints for Christmas presents and a photo jigsaw for my husband's advent calendar; ordered on 23Nov and told estimated date for collection was 5Dec. Emailed to say order had been dispatched on 25Nov and would take 2-6 business days to arrive (in this day and age what courier service are they using?!) and email contained tracking link but estimated date for collection unchanged. Had not heard anything by 7Dec (after 8 business days) so used online chat service and was quoted (in broken English) my estimated delivery date - very reassuring. Contacted the store and was informed my order was ready to collect and had probably been in store since 5Dec. Returned home to discover the two packages contained only the photo prints and the jigsaw was missing - contacted store again to be told they had eventually found it but it had only arrived in store on 8Dec (15 days after ordering, 13 days after dispatch). Contacted customer services to complain - apparently they don't inform customers when orders are ready for collection and just expect you to go to store on your estimated date and hope for the best (unlike every other company that does ordering online for in-store collection where you get sent an email and/or text when it's ready to collect). 'Tracking' service continues to say 'dispatched' throughout. Shocking customer service - do not plan to use again. Silver linings: in-store staff were very helpful on the phone and in person and seemed genuinely apologetic, prints are of decent quality, jigsaw pieces are all very similar shapes (adds and detracts from difficulty in different ways) and not very well cut but reasonable quality for the price.

“Never use it”

★☆☆☆☆

written by caPatterson241 on 30/10/2016

I just spent 3 Hours making a personalised calendar for my Nan for Christmas. 3 Hours of it freezing, not working, things disappearing and becoming really frustrated. It has now freezed completely, if I touch it, I'm just going to lose everything. I've just read another review about the calendar saying that it's flimsy and comes with no hook. I've just wasted 3Hours of my Sunday to make this for my Nan. Next time I'll be using Vistaprints, I used them before and it was brilliant. Never using Boots Photos again.

“Avoid boots photo service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Dudley462 on 19/10/2016

Avoid at all costs - my photo gift order was never received, despite after the first time of it going missing them re-ording it. I even had a voicemail from boots telling me to collect my order from store as it had arrived, but when I arrived it was nowhere to be seen. After over a month of issues, my order is still not here and it will not be here in time for the birthday it was a gift for. Shocking service...

“Very poor service - photos are fine”

★★★☆☆

written by 9Myrick on 29/07/2016

I wanted photos really quickly so ordered on line to collect in store. I did not have problems with the web site, not the slickest site but workable. Estimate for cillection was 9.46am but said I should wait for an email. Noon and still no email I phoned the store to be told they had been ready for hours! The photos themselves are fine but I've missed the post due to bad service. As I write it is 10pm,my order status still says "in process" and I still have not received that email Avoid if in a hurry!!

“I satisfied customer”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Luciah65 on 15/03/2016

For any one thinking of going to boots to print photos for calendars collages etc please don't bother wasting your money. Had a calender done for me for Xmas turns out boots printed the same picture on most of the months just in different positions . Had a total of only 3 different pics for the whole calender. Took or back explained the situation (Woolwich) branch women tried to blame the person who done it for me as a present. Explained boots is the one that makes it after they are given pic but still would not see it as their fault all I got was rude ness and uncaring. Waste of 15 pounds. Woolwich staff are all rude stuck up and not worth the time or day only one that worth talking to is the security guard always willing to help . He does a better job then them all put to gether.

“Lost a day trying”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Johnstoncf283 on 08/03/2016

Spent 2 hours this morning online trying to do a collage of pics for Mothers day. After wrestling with the website and having to re-start 4 times, I relented and went to the online checkout (I wanted to pick up at my local Boots in Calcot, Reading) only to be informed that it would cost a further £1.95 to deliver. I thougth this was strange so called Boots Calcot and finally got through to the Asst Mgr who works in Photo. Very helpful chap told me to go ahead and come over to pick up the Collage and that he would refund me the "Delvery Cost". Paid my dues and set off to pick the Mother's day collage up. When I got there he told me it had not arrived, so we checked online and found out that this was going to be send a week later and that the option of in store same day collection was not available. The Asst Mgr was very helpful and said he would look into it. Called 10 mins later to say it should be OK if I went back. Turns out that it was not possible, so he suggested I came back later with a Memory stick with the photos and do it manually on the in store machines. He said to bring my Boots card so he could give me a gift card to make up for my lost time and effort. Turned up in the afternoon, wrestled with the in store system for abotu 20 mins. To do a collage you have to do it manually with very bad user interface. When I tried to put in a new photo or change anything it reverted back to the beginning. I gave up and left. Got an apology but nothing else. Very disappointing experience both online and in store. No Mother's day present. Dont use.

“Photo calendar expensive and poorly designed”

★★☆☆☆

written by Japagow on 03/01/2016

Although the staff were helpful my purchase of new year wall calendars including my own pics was an expensive disappointment. WHY? They cost 15 pounds each. The product is flimsy with no hook to hang it off the wall included. I have to make holes. The photos came out blurred in places and the choice of background options was limited. Supermarket competitors do a product much plainer admittedly for ALOT less money. The layout is my choice but for fifteen quid I'd like a hook to hang it up at least I'm not doing this again. Very fed up.

“Terrible, terrible service!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Frances1965 on 24/12/2015

Unfortunately, there were no zero stars! Two out of seven orders were not delivered. When approached, the customer service was clueless, and the people in store were equally useless. The worst service I have ever experienced. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

“Acrylic photo print poor quality”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 28/10/2015

Bought an acrylic panel print and am very disappointed with the quality. The print shows banding and looks like it was printed with a cheap inkjet on cheap paper. Paper print has been poorly trimmed after being stuck to acrylic panel. Didn't pay full price and it looks OK from a distance so can't be bothered with the hastle of seeking a refund. I will not be a repeat customer though and wouldn't recommend to anyone else.
