“Great Service and Holiday”

I booked a weeks Holiday to Muscat for my wife's 60th birthday with Destinology. The agent who handled our booking was superb from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he keep us informed at all times. Everything we booked was handled perfectly, all transfers went without a hitch the hotel was absolutely great. The agent contacted us a few days before the holiday to check that everything was ok and if we required any more help. He reassured us that plans were in place in case our holiday was effected by the Coronavirus and not to worry and have a great time, which we did. I would recommend this company and this agent any time and will use them again for future holidays.

“Fantastic trip to Mexico”

Enjoyed a holiday to Mexico with my husband and two children. The agent I spoke to was very friendly and helped me to narrow down the choice of hotels to the Moon Palace. Having visited several hotels in the area herself and giving me lots of information, she felt this one best met our needs and budget. She had some useful advice about the restaurants and the trips we were able to go on using the resort credit package that Destinology guests get - my daughter was thrilled to spend her birthday swimming with dolphins. The agent was very patient when we needed to change our dates, looked at different room combinations and was happy to look at flights from both Manchester and Gatwick. Very happy with the service provided by Destinology and will use them again in future.

“All sales, no aftercare... not interested!”

When you make it to 10 years of marriage you feel like want to celebrate it. My wife and I had set our sights on either Dubai, Seychelles or Maldives. We had initial discussions with both Kuoni and Destinology. Given the time we had – half term week only we opted for Dubai. From sales points of view Destinology was by far better than Kuoni... they “seemed” to offer a better deal with some promised upgrades and discounts. Unfortunately “seemed” is the right word because although I can’t vouch for what Kuoni would have done I know that Destinology came short once it got the holiday time. We were advised by Destinology to opt for an overnight flight. Kuoni recommended a day time flight... believe me, unless you have the first class flat bed option, don’t opt for the overnight flight; you won’t catch much sleep if any at all. Kuoni was right! The airline was Emirates so we had high hopes... unfortunately Emirates isn’t what it’s supposed to be anymore: long wait for service; few drinks;... Virgin are still miles ahead! Our flight left Birmingham Saturday evening around 8pmand arrived in Dubai Sunday morning around 8am. (8hr flight + 4 hrs time difference). No issues with the airport... it all feels a bit intimidating at first bit actually it’s quite smooth to get through passport control and luggage collection. There’s even a duty free shop on the way out; grab a few bottles here also. So now to the stay... and this is where the issues start. We had booked a private transfer from the airport to the Jumeirah Sabeel Saray hotel (which was on the Jumeirah Palm) and had upgraded it from a Lexus to a BMW. Guess which car was provided? Indeed the Lexus. When we arrived at the hotel we understood we were early would have to wait for our room. After a few hours we got a call from reception to say our room was ready. We had upgraded our room from an Arabian Gulf view to a Palm Jumeirah view. Guess which room type we were allocated? Indeed the Arabian Gulf view. I raised this with both the hotel reception and Destinology (via email as the office was shut!). It took a further 5.5hrs, 3 further visits to reception speaking to 3 different people (one of which was supposed to be a manager) before we eventually obtained the right room. During that time Destinology replied via email and claimed to have spoken to the hotel, but it was my doing and the chasing which got us to the right room. Given the fact how long we had to wait for our luggage to arrive when we moved into the first room we were allocated to, we decided to move our luggage ourselves this time as we wanted to unpack and get settled. At this time is was 6pm. We received a call from the manager that same night and he offered a bottle of wine at the table during one of the meals... nice promise, never materialised! As for the room... The good: the bed is rather big, the mattress is rather nice and so are the pillows; the bathroom is rather big with a nice Turkish style marble bath; the view over the palm is nice. The bad: the room is rather dark; the TV channel choice rather limited. The ugly: some of the bathroom fittings needs fixing/changing (tap top came off and silicone along shower screen was mouldy). The next morning. I usually have a decent breakfast; my wife usually doesn’t and has enough with a muesli yoghurt or some fruit which she has in the room whilst she gets ready. It was my intention to bring some bits up myself to the room. I’m perfectly happy to do that; don’t need anyone else to do it for me. But oh no, not possible at the Jumeirah Sabeel Saray. The waiter would bring it up to the room. However just for today (a one-off exception) not for the remainder of the stay. Is this supposed to be a 5* hotel which thrives on customer service? I went to my room. We waited 40mn for the food to arrive. We left for the beach. The food never arrived! So upon our return from the beach I once again raised this issue with the hotel and Destinology. I received another call in the room from another manager. At least he promised things that actually happened: he arranged for my wife’s breakfast to arrive every day in the room. He also assisted with a reservation at the Burj Al Arab where we had an amazing time. So whilst I managed to sort the breakfast issue out with the hotel all I got from Destinology was again another email to say they had spoken to the hotel and were waiting for a response. 2 days in and nothing but issues... wrong pick-up car, wrong room, wrong breakfast. All I hear from Destinology: “We’ve spoke to hotel, we are awaiting response.” Good thing I try and sort issues out myself... I’d still be waiting if it was for Destinology! Also, the last thing you want to do is constantly argue the case about what should have been done. We were there to celebrate 10 year anniversary. Oh yes... another promise from Destinology: “There will be something done whilst you’re there to celebrate your wedding anniversary; make sure you have your wedding certificate with you to show as evidence.” Yep we did have it with is... nothing offered: no meal, no drink... oh yes... some petals on the bed on the 2nd night. I don’t know why we’d need to show a wedding certificate for some rose petals? From day 3 onwards things kept ticking over. No further issues. I thought I’d raise these upon my return with Destinology. Were they interested... hell no! A few emails to express their disappointment but no action forthcoming. So let this be a warning... don’t believe all they say when they sell you the holiday. As for Dubai... an amazing place and will surely go back soon; just not with Destinology nor Emirates. Also; unless you really need to don’t stay on the Jumeirah Palm; save yourself 30mn there and back in taxi ride time!

“Journey around Thailand”

I came across Destinology in a search engine was wowed by the type of hotels available and thought I can't afford to go with them but gave it a go. What a surprise they came in with a really good quotation with full details on each hotel for the areas we had chosen. Our advisor was well informed and was there every step of the way helping to organise, advise on a couple of queries I had. When choosing a long distance holiday again I will definitely be booking with them again. Very professional service.

“charging more money”

I have booked through responsibility 8 nights holidays and paid them in advance just to realise that the checkout was only for 7 nights. when i contacted the agent asking for a refund he pretended that it was the hotel responsibility and not his fault knowing that he booked me the transfer after 7 nights while he made a mistake and charged my visas card for 8 nights clearly stated in the invoice Then i receive a very poor email telling me that the hotel refused to pay me back the night on the basis that they let me check out at 9 pm, this was of course wrong as the hotel didn't permit me to do anything as they like me were sure that the checkout was the next day and they kindly offered me to stay until 5pm I travelled 100 countries and i always used them, i have never had one problem i wanted to use your services but I am extremely disappointed from the treatment of the agent and the fact that he is blaming the hotel rather his unprofessional conduct

“Amazing trip to Mauritius ”

Thanks to Destinology we have just returned from our best ever holiday yet. They handled the booking process fantastically which involved lots of to and fro-ing between various entities and parties. The payment and documentation process was smooth and easy and we were asked about seat and meal preferences for the flight to Mauritius promptly. Our transfers and communication with the rep on holiday were smooth and very easy. Everything was organised perfectly and not once did we have to think twice about anything. There was even a bottle of Champagne on arrival. It's the small touches which make Destinology stand out from the rest. I would highly recommend using Destinology and will continue to use them for any future trips like this. Thanks!

“Going Above And Beyond ”

I'm late writing this review sorry. After losing a family member whilst we were all away on our holiday together I've only now been able to write this. Whilst away last year we suddenly lost a close, dear member of our family. I received a phone call from a lovely lady. She was genuinely concerned for our wellbeing and sincere with her condolences at our sad loss. I don't normally write reviews but felt I had to. In my eyes went above and beyond the call of her duty. She was at the end of the phone whenever we needed her even giving us her personal mobile number to call any time day or night. She liaised with the hotel, the consulate abroad and the airline leaving no stone unturned. She made sure the hotel staff were all aware of our situation and they looked after us. We flew back before without our loved one, she made sure the airline knew what had happened that no questions were asked as to where the other person was. Re-arranged seating on the flight and made sure we were taken care of which we were. We were met at the airport assisted with check in and given access to the airlines lounge, even the staff on board went out of their way to care for us. On landing she was in contact with us and even liaised with the airline and insurance to offer assistance. We received a lovely card from her hand written and another call after the funeral. She's an absolutely lovely, caring lady who should be commended for going above and beyond. We would not have got through any of this without her genuine, love, care and attention to detail. Destinology you have an amazing member of your staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We were so very touched by all you did.

Booked Route 66 for a surprise for my husbands 50th birthday. Can't thank her enough for the effort she put in to arranging this for me. I hadn't a clue where to begin but flights car hotels and attraction tickets all arranged through the agent. Adjustments to standard trip hotels and flights not a problem even arranged my much desired detour down to Memphis. Excellent service hope we enjoy the holiday.

“Booking to Dubai”

I wanted some last minute sun to Dubai. the person I dealt with had previously booked a trip for me to Abu Dhabi and I remembered the excellent, responsive service so I came back to Destinology and I wasn't disappointed. He quickly came back with a couple of options for me and talked me through the hotels and flights. He replied to my emails almost instantly and proactively called me to take my booking on a Sunday when I was ready to book. He took all of the hassle out of making the booking, did all the research and gave me helpful advice on the hotels. My original option had gone up in price but he had proactively found me some other flight options which reduced the overall cost. One of the nights at the hotel was fully booked but he had negotiated a room upgrade for me so I didn't have to change hotels. He is an absolute joy to deal with and nothing was too much trouble. If only every company had great people like him whose passion is excellent customer service.

At this end of the travel market you expect a high level of service but Destinology really did go further than most of luxury concierge companies when we made our recent booking. The main difference is that the consultant really tried to understand what we were looking for rather than just take an order. We definitely felt that he was on our side. The holiday we booked was far from cheap but we do not have an unlimited budget and he understood that as well. We would certainly contact them again for future holidays.

I spotted an excellent deal to the Almyra hotel in Cyprus, the cost was more than favourable against other companies, I managed to get room upgrade at same cost as basic room with other tour operators. I initially done an email request for a quote, then decided to chat online with the person I dealt with , at first I thought the deal was more expensive till I realised it was actually cheaper, so called and booked over telephone with him. I have received excellent service so far. So I am extremely pleased with the way things have been dealt with to date.
