The Linksys WAG54G-UK Router is a nice piece of kit. If only it worked reliably!
Linksys really should deal with the known problems and release a v3 design. It needs to be a lot more robust.
It is not for the technically illiterate. You have to know quite a lot about networking to make it func ...

My first one died after a firmware flash and I changed it to a v2 model. I haven't dared to upgrade that one but now I'm forced to do it because it dies on me every other day. Well it works outbound fairly well but fails to accept inbound traffic, so my webserver stops working and I can't access the ...

The Linksys WAG54G-UK Router is not a very good product!
The internet connection keeps dropping without warning.
I contacted the ISP and they found no problem on their side.

My Linksys WAG54G-UK Router stopped working after one year. Thw cause was in the power supply unit. It overheated causing a voltage increase, therefore damaging the router itself. If you have one of these, keep an eye on the power supply voltage, as it should be always be 12v.

Initially I was very impressed with the Linksys router. It does exactly what you need it to do, and is very user-friendly without lacking more advanced features. Performance was acceptable once we moved it to the right spot in the house. BUT after around 5 months it suddenly stopped working properly ...

I have supplied 2 of my customers with the Linsys WAG54G-UK Router, banking on the Linksys name....
One unit has worked perfectly well and can't be faulted (both v2).
The other customer has 2 Macs; one wireless, and one wired. For a start, you can't log in and configure via Safari web browser, whi ...

I bought the Linksys WAG54G-UK Router because of good magazine reviews. unfortunately I didn't read any user reviews, or I wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole. Essentially for me, the mechanics work fine. The connection is very stable, and you can use it reasonably far from the base unit. ...

Easy to review the Linksys WAG54G-UK Router, get any version except the 1.2. I bought 1, had no end of problems with it, the wireless network dying every half hour almost as if by clockwork. I phoned the technical support line. Within 10 minutes he told me they'd had some problems with this version ...

The Linksys WAG54g v1.2 does not work properly. I have had two both of which over heat and the wireless connection drops. This is a design fault. After spending hours on the phone to a monkey in manila they finally agreed to change the unit and upgrade me to the WAG54g v2 which for the past couple o ...
