    Virgin Active gym on the strand is not a cheap gym. The monthly membership is £80 a month. When you compare it to Fitness First gym it looks expensive. Having been a member of both gyms I can safely say that it is worth paying extra for Virgin Active. First up you get a pool. You also ge ...

    Since Virgin Active took over from Holmes Place the quality of the gym and general service for customers has gone drastically down hill in my opinion.     First of all, I had an amazingly unprofessional personal trainer and despite a legitimate complaint, Virgin Active never paid back the money they owed me for the unused sessions.

    Would not organise promised personal training sessions, which is part of the starter package. The staff were not aware of how to freeze memberships (taking money out of your account anyway).
