ONCE YOU ENROLL WITH DAVID LLOYDS THERE IS NO WAY OUT!!!! Bromsgrove undergoing major refurb at expense of its existing loyal customers who are still paying full price to attend. The GYM initially ticked all the boxes but alas - time highlights the cracks and holes in their pavement. 1stly air conditioning does not seem to exist - they have over the past 2 years & more instead added fans to circulate the already gross,sweaty moist air. Hugely expensive, even more if you pay monthly, 3 months notice enforced rigidly. Vantage membership gives you a towel and entry to the members spa area, in which the ceiling is dirty and peeling due to a broken water fountain in the gym upstairs (and has been like this for 3 years). Water fountains everywhere are either broken or not working at all. I like this club and some staff are friendly but unfortunately they seem to be in the minority. If your not a mate or super cool with muscles ! They are rude arrogant and unhelpful. Its not rocket science be friendly and helpful to all members not just a few. I would like to use a personal trainer but they are so unapproachable 'not in a million years'. I am truly sick of this place, three of us (gym buddies) have been members for over 10 years (so well over £10k spent each then!!)… Doesn't bare thinking about for such appalling service. As with other reviews, no aircon, run by idiots who do not have the first clue about customer service, old machines, no atmosphere & dirty. David Lloyd has without doubt the worst attitude to customer service of any business I have ever come across. Bizarre for a business that reliesd on customer service. They must assume they can always sign up new customers as existing members leave. Many of us locals have been members for years as there has been no nearby alternative. You're trapped with nowhere to go? So you keep paying £90 per month to David Lloyd. If it was so bad then surely you shouldn't keep going? I agree with your points and I agree that you should complain about them. But the gym doesn't force you to keep going to it. Vote with your feet.

I'd hazard a guess that most people that join David Lloyd do so expecting to pay a premium over the alternatives because they want the service and attention to detail that ordinarily would accompany this kind of thing. David Lloyd Farnham while a tidy-enough club (it's only a couple of years old so has yet to experience the wear, tear and lack of maintenance evident elsewhere in the estate suffers from terrible membership attrition, principally because the service is so poor. Dont believe anything that the sales team told you. My partner and I signed up at different time and James (one of the sales) told us it would not be a problem and said he would refund us money or deduct what every the difference on our membership fees after our accounts joined. (if you joined the accounts, you got discount) BUNCH OF LIES!!! So, I paid my membership fees the whole year in advance and then my partner joined later but he wanted pay his monthly. Guess what? “Locker theft warning at David Lloyd Sudbury Hill!!”

All, whilst club at Sudbury Hill in London is good, do watch out for your belongings. Yesterday, I had my locker broken into and cash taken from my wallet. TOTALLY unacceptable. Worst of all the club won't take ANY responsibility. After paying thousands of pounds in membership each year, this is not what I accepted of this so called reputable club. I have been overseas for the last 6 years and recently returned to David Lloyd kidbrooke . The lack of investment is clear. Nothing has changed in 12 years. The lockers are falling apart. Despite being the most expensive gym I have ever joined, this is also the worst gym! It's so hot in the gym i couldn't do a proper workout and had to wear shorts in the middle of winter. the change rooms are like a sauna - I wanted to go to the gym on my way to work but there was no way I could get ready and put any makeup on in the change room because it was impossible to cool down. I am posting this reply on my own behalf.

I'm sorry but this is your own fault. Id suggest read the contract that you are signing, this is no different to any other contract. believe

Last time I bought a mobile phone, I believe they only told me how much I would be paying each month, and what this included. They didn't go into detail about my contract ending / notice periods etc while I was in the shop. This is down to yourself being diligent and reading what you are signing up for.

I and all of my family were members of Epsom Horton park over a period of time the children and my wife left it due to lack of use. I was a member for 8 years when I joined the club it was great well run everything working and mostly new but over that time the price went up above inflation and the way the club was run and condition nose dived in a very short period of time. The weights area at David Lloyd Gidea Park is unbearable in this heat. The air conditioning only works (just about) in the cardio area but doesn't make it's way round to the Weights area.
