I purchased this air rifle intending to use it primarily for recreational target practice, and it performs well in this regard, so long as one feeds it properly. (More on ammo in 3 paragraphs)
I didn't particularly like the fibre-optic sights (but that's probably bias and poor vision), and remove ...

Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953 - This is the first pellet gun I've owned since I was a kid. Boy, what a selection to pick from. I wanted something mostly for plinking in the back yard, and occassionally for bird/squirrel. It also needed to be quiet so I wouldn't disturb the neighbors.
I settled o ...

If you are old enough you will remember buying an air gun and, upon opening the box, noticing a small tag therein that read "Inspected by #34." (Or #23 or whatever.)
You laughed a bit at the thought of some poor slob spending his life inspecting air guns, but you took it for granted that such insp ...

I just got my Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953 in a few weeks ago and I already put it through a few of its paces. From a bag at 10 meters, the shots hit pretty much in the same hole. Also, firing unsupported from prone is almost as easy as firing from a rest because of the design and trigger. Some peo ...

I got my Daisy 953 from D & L in BC for $110.89 + s&h $26.00 + gst $9.58 = $146.47 Canadian dollars.
But for about 1/3 of the price of a Daisy Avanti 853c, I think that Daisy has a winner here.
My 853c chrono at 490 fps with Copperhead pointed and the 953 chrono at 495 fps with Copperhead pointed ...

This Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953 Air Rifle is very accurate and can hit a quarter from 50 feet. However, this thing is WEAK. It only has a 500 fps max muzzle velocity and is a lot slower by the time it hits your target. If you plan on looking for a gun for hunting small game no larger than a bird ...

I bought the Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953 Air Rifle kit at Sam's Club for $40. At first I was hesitant about the performance of the gun because of its low price, but after firing a few test shots with it I found it to be very, very accurate and consistent. I mounted a scope on mine and started shoo ...

The Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953 is a relatively new model. Based on the 853, 753 competition models, with a plastic stock, and without the lothar barrel.
It has a 5 shot indexing clip, and it is a single stroke pneumatic. Makes it easy and fun for plinking.
The plastic stock is not as cheap ...

I was shopping at Walmart and did not have in mind to buy a pellet gun until I saw the price of the Daisy PowerLine TargetPro 953. Walmart had this gun for $30..... yes $30 bucks. I looked on the shelf for other guns and I was shocked they had this for really cheap. I'm not sure if this price was a ...

I am very impressed with the Daisy Powerline TargetPro 953 gun. I have several Air Guns, and the Daisy 953 by far is the most balanced. I have a $500 Talon PCP .22, and it is not as fun as this $45.00 (Walmart) rifle. Hard to believe but true. Bass Pro sells it for $70.00, but I bought another one f ...
