My Lite-On LVW-5005 DVD recorder was very good to start with, but it gradually lost interest in recording. I tried firmware updates from Lite-On but that did not work. I tried contacting Lite-On, but I did not get any replies to my emails and no-one seemed keen to answer the phone.

    It still makes ...

The LiteOn LVW-5005 DVD recorder is cheap and it looks good. The features are limited, but I bought it as it was a cheap DVD recorder, not because it is full of features.

At first things worked OK, as long as I didn't use cheap DVD's to record onto. However, after just a few months it frequentl ...

This LiteOn LVW-5005 recorder, and an additional one I bought for a gift for someone never worked. I had to make 12 calls to the company before they told me to send it in at my cost and they would send me a replacement.

I have had the LiteOn LVW-5005 DVD recorder for about a month, and so far so good. The best thing about this machine is it's PALNTSC converter function. To buy a PAL NTSC converter itself would have cost me more than what I paid for this. Anyone who needs a PALNTSC converter, pick one of these up to ...

As with other reviewers, I am having difficulty with the LiteOn LVW-5005 DVD recorder accepting blank discs to record on. I now have several packs of varied DVD+, DVD-, DVD +RW blank discs, and the blighted thing is now rejecting them all! I looked on this review page to see if I was doing something ...

I bought the LiteOn LVW-5005 DVD recorder, and I was very impressed by the quality of the recording, considering it was the cheapest one on the market it was ideal for what I needed. However, after about eight months, the recorder broke and needed replacing. The second unit I had lasted for about ...

I have owned the LiteOn LVW-5005 DVD recorder for a year, and started using it 9 months ago. I have been relentlessly transferring VHS and camcorder tapes virtually daily over that time. So far the only significant problem has been the loss of sound from the ilink input. It appears that I have be ...

LiteOn LVW-5005 - Got this as an entry level model, and for its price it is magnificent. Easily allows transfers of VHS to DVD, and cassette tapes to CD, and plays mp3s, VCDs, picture disks, but not DivX or Mpeg4. One big drawback is that its TV tuner is mono only. You can get around this by having ...
