I have (had) an account with them for 8 years, never had any chargebacks no issues with my account and processed ten of thousands of $ in that time. I am a registered legit US business for over 12 years and not a back alley fraudster. Recently I had TWO chargebacks for €15 each (first ones ever after thousands of transactions) and they advised me not to refund the chargebacks through the 2checkout control panel and let the chargeback system do its work. I followed the advice of 2checkout to the letter. In fact, I even contacted the customer who is a good friend of mine for many years and he had no ideas about the chargebacks!!!!! Yesterday however, out of the blue, I received an email from 2checkout saying my account was closed and all my funds were now on hold for 90 days. No warning, just my account is closed, we have your money and nothing you can do. Here is the email....... Dear XXXXXX LLC, The following notes have been added to your account. Please review this information and take corrective action, if needed by: as soon as possible. Details: We regret to inform you that 2Checkout can no longer support your payment processing. Because of high recent chargeback activity, we were required by our upstream provider to close your account 1289898. Whenever an account is closed, we try to provide time to locate a different payment processor, but we were not given this option in this case and were forced to close your account immediately. Your account has been closed and has read-only access and you will still be able to review your sales information. The account will be paid out 13 cycles after your most recent sale. We hold payment for 90 days to allow time for refund and chargeback activity. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may create for your business. Although we are no longer able to work with you, we do wish you the very best for your business going forward. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]. WHAT DA FRACK??? DONT USE THEM UNLESS YOU ARE DESPERATE!!!

I recently paid an application fee to 2checkout and although there was no guarantee I would be accepted I was supposed to hear within 48 hours whether I had been or not. Never heard a thing and my control panel just remained in pending for weeks, until I finally made a complaint with Paypal and tried to get my money back. Unfortunately they (Paypal) couldn't claim in my favour as there was a terms and conditions in the small print that the fee was non refundable. However I still think they should have gone in my favour - else why don't we all just sell something, not provide the service and make the terms non refundable, we would all be rich! And how disgusting are 2checkout to not honour my request for a refund when they have failed to provide the service they said they would.

I have been trying to set up a merchant account for nearly 2 months with 2Checkout and the experience has been terrible. I have set up several other merchant accounts and the process has taken 3-5 days tops. In this case, 2CO would send me emails requiring information, I would return the information the requested immediately, and then my application would go nowhere. When I called back, they would say they were waiting for x,y,z, items I had sent them weeks beforehand. The final kicker was whey they said my application was delayed because I had information about sharing emails with 3rd parties in my website privacy policy. When I responded that I had no such information in my policy and requested that they copy and email the language to which they were referring, they sent me the privacy policy of a completely different company. They explained away their delays by saying there had been a snowstorm and that a bunch of their staff had been sick. All this occurred just during the application process so I can't even imagine how they would handle an actual account. Do not even consider working with these people.

Was processing with them for years, over $1.5m in sales, and they just shut the account down. No warning or anything. I remember looking for reviews on them before I went with them, and thought it couldnt happen to me. IT DOES. If you process with 2CO then you are running a MAJOR risk to your business. Set up a secondary account with another provider and learn from my example. Their fees are also ludicrous, their staff are belligerent and unhelpful, there is NO Reason to process with 2Checkout at all. Please, heed my advice now.

Don't ever ever use 2Checkout, I had the absolute worst experience with them. They simply closed my accounts, no warning or anything. Very poor level of service. I strongly recommend not using 2Checkout - they don't give two hoots about your business. I recommend Payza, a fantastic company, switched over to them, and no problems at all!

I don't usually leave reviews, but thought I would add mine here because it seemed needed. I almost didn't join 2checkout just because of the reviews here - I have to say - I'm really glad I gave it a try anyway. I've been using them for a long time and, knock on wood, I haven't ever had a problem. The actual per transaction fee and rate are exactly what I've seen and used on any other credit accepting program. They are totally normal rates. I use to use virtual terminal for shows - they cost $30 a month plus 0.30 cents per transaction and 3.1%. Anyway, getting off the subject: With my site, I make sure an Email goes to every customer letting them know there payment was accepted and the order is being processed. When the order ships, a notification and tracking number is sent. I have very specific policies and purchases can't be made until the box is checked to agree and adhere 100%. My policies are set up in a way that avoids US and International scams. I have never had charge backs {again, knock on wood - don't want to jinx myself}. I think being really thorough with the check out, ordering process, etc...really helps to avoid those types of things happening. Make sure your customers can get in touch with you, have great communication and customer service. All of those things avoid customer confusion. They do have a rolling hold. Mine is only 5% though. I read somewhere that someone said there's is around 15%. Not my experience. They hold it for the convenience of the seller. If you do have a charge back, they take it from there and it doesn't affect your in the bank money. They roll release it after a certain amount of time and you consistently get it paid back. I don't see where that isn't a good thing. Again, using PayPal Virtual Terminal, they held 30% in a 30 day roll. That killed me the first 30 days waiting for it to start releasing. Rolling holds are totally normal. They also had me set up within 24 hours. Anyway - just wanted to give my thorough experience so that people know that all the fees are normal, customer service has always been great. Don't be too afraid to give it a try for a few weeks and decide on your own from there.

Reviews show that sellers are not happy!! well it sucks equally for buyer as well if not more... There is no buyer protection whatsoever. There is no check on sellers integrity therefore you can never be comfortable doing business with them. Responses from customer support are just awful. they will try their best to dodge the real question and end the discussion with a lame excuse. In short its an easy no questions asked payment portal for shady businesses. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STICK TO PAYPAL

Been using 2Checkout for 8 years now, selling downloadable software, hardware and charging our resellers via invoice. Sales so far exceeding $100K. A couple of very minor hiccups along the way but everytime this was solved quickly by talking to their support. No issues with fraud, charge backs etc. Yes, some sellers will have problems but most end up having it because they haven't read 2CO's terms or sell shady goods.

Our company sells (legitimate) sporting goods from Thailand. We had our PayPal account frozen for 2 weeks (for no valid reason), this pushed us to look for an different payment processing. After applying for ALOT of merchant accounts we decided on 2Checkout. The fees are a bit higher than Paypal, but this is counterbalanced by the better exchange rate on money withdrawals. Overall I've been very happy with 2Checkout, you don't really need to think about your payment processor, which is ideal; they automatically send you the balance each week. Even with the one chargeback we've had 2Checkout leaves the money in your account until the case is resolved (whereas Paypal takes it back immediately and make you fight for it back for the next 3 months).

I used PayPal, Skrill (Moneybookers) and Alertpay and finally 2checkout and I want to say that this guys are The worst gateway I ever use! Don't use this if you are selling e-goods, software or other. Their Fraud review staff will review your order in 1-3 days and finally will refund your money to buyer and this without buyer request. So if you want to loose your money, use it!

I would not recommend 2Checkout payment processing services to anyone who wants to sell online. Their anti-fraud security system is atrociously weak and the online credit card fraudsters know this. For example, when I used to use them, they declared several transactions (running into thousands of dollars) as authentic and valid, only to later on bombard me with charge-backs which could not be contested because apparently the transactions all had the same credit card number but different invoicing details. They boast of strong anti-fraud checks so as a merchant I relied on them to do a job which they miserably failed at! If you want to avoid rampant charge-backs and running into debt, I would advise that you avoid them like the plague!

Very tired of dealing with this company. They are easy to take your customers payment, but they have found an excuse to keep those payments for a month now. The point of using 2CO was to avoid problems we were seeing in PayPal. Well, At least Paypal DID payouts. 2CO has not. Every excuse you can think of, and new ones too. Angry customers , and we ended up having to ship out on our dime because the customers money is tied up with this BS company. They seemed OK with the first small payments we did as a test. Then with larger volumes and more payments, .... Nothing!

Dear 2checkout, We are very displeased with your company. Upon opening our 2checkout account we informed several employees what our company is and does. We specifically sent you our 'terms & conditions' stating that customers must pay in full 60 days prior to their tour date. Without informing us you refunded one of our clients $7,725 and called her explaining that we might be a "scam". This is NOT appreciated, and you have actually cost of hundreds of dollars purchasing this customer's train and flight tickets. She is now scared of using our company because of your company's incompetence.

We are online retailers in business since 2009 by the name of tradersindiaonline.com We recently switched over from paypal to 2Checkout as our payment processor. The very first transaction with 2Checkout was a horror. Order # 4651219275 dt 5th March 2012 for 3 Pieces 7" Ainol Novo 7 Android 4.0 Tablet PC shipping by Air Mail to Russia for $449 (All Inclusive). We got an email initially from [email protected] saying that its ok to proceed with the order and everything has been verified. We waited for about 12 hours from the time of order to begin processing and then we paid our supplier to ship the order accordingly. To our utter horror we got an email in the evening from [email protected] saying that the order has already been cancelled and refunded. It was like heart attack for us. Because now we will have to convince the supplier to cancel the order and its not easy and it does take a big hit on our credibility in the Suppliers market. So SELLERS BEWARE don't do business with 2checkout.com if you don't want yourself in such terrible mess. We could be losing around $390 (Cost of items shipped if the supplier does not bend to our request to cancel the order). They boast of fraud team and all the hoolah but in reality they don't know what they are doing. Also cancelling orders is all so easy with 2checkout.com. They would also allow orders to be cancelled once they have been shipped. (Can you imagine such a scenario) . So deal with 2Checkout.com only if you want to distribute expensive free gifts worldwide at no cost to customers. You cannot do business with such sham payment processors. Such instances not only damage the reputation of the company like 2checkout.com but also of USA in general. Business is only for the serious ,not for some jokers who talk too much and act very little.

We've been with this company for less than a year (we use them for online sales at a site of ours) and they are very expensive. They charge about 5.5% of the transaction and then 55 cents. It's really ridiculous how much they think they deserve of a sale when their service is poor. I won't get into details because I don't want them to cancel our account as we're still with them (I'm sure they would actually over a bad review, it's just how these people tend to be). HOWEVER, when we signed up they misinformed us of a very important part of their policy. After 4 unique calls and finally getting to a person who knew what the company's policies really were, we got the information we originally wanted from the company. *The customer service team is NOT trained well*. I don't know who's responsible for that aspect of the company, but whoever it is, they are very lazy. Next, look at the checkout process. If you go through what the customer sees, you have pages upon pages at checkout. MAKE IT SIMPLE 2CHECKOUT! Why can't you just have a short, concise, easy to use checkout page? Everyone else does! If I were buying from our site, I'd personally be put off by the lengthy checkout page... which makes us actively seeking a better processor and will be leaving them with-in the next few months. I would never suggest this service to someone buying on-line or selling on-line. Look deeper, you can find something better. It's not worth it.

I used this site to pay for my website a year ago. For no reason at all, it blacklisted my credit card. (I've always had good credit and paid online many years with that same card...the card was good.) Anyway, me, thinking there was a glitch with their site, entered the numbers twice more. That was when I was also BLOCKED from using my own card. I had to call their emergency 1-800 number at 1am to find out that I was blacklisted because of the uses. (Talking Fraud...on my OWN card used by ME.) I called 2checkout's main office later in the day, angry as can be. I ended up yelling at the one rep when she told me to "Shut up, calm down and It's not MY fault it happened." Never again will I use this !@#$ site.

I am currently trying to get a refund from a fraud website which I paid through 2Checkout. Their communication is enragingly confusing and incoherent. I have no idea what they have or haven't done, if anything.
