“took out 12 month cineworld pass”

Written on: 17/01/2012 by monroe21 (2 reviews written)

hi, i love going to the cinema as films are one of my favourite things. I decided to take out a cineworld pass as thought £13.50 was good value for money and means i can go whenever I want. After 6-7 months, I had not been using the pass as much as getting to the nearest cinema can be difficult as it is not local to me (i do not drive so rely on public transport to the marina) i been told that it is impossible to cancel the cineworld pass until you have completed a 12 month subscription..this… Read Full Review

“WOOD GREEN CINEWORLD - PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED BY STAFF...”

Written on: 09/01/2012 by Mohammed_123 (1 review written)

My girlfriend and I were in Wood Green Cineworld on 21st December 2011 waiting to watch a movie. There was a long queue of people in a line waiting to enter the screening area, hence I decided to wait in the seating area. When they started letting people inside the screening area, I approached the counter right next to it as it was totally empty and I was unaware which film the queue was for. On presenting my tickets to 'Mr Shahid' who is an employee of Cineworld told me in an very aggressive… Read Full Review

“Giftcard - unusable extremely disapointing”

Written on: 19/12/2011 by mackenzie5 (1 review written)

I was given a cineworld giftcard and a thank you and treat ,unfortunately there isn't a cineworld within 150 miles of where I live after taking the card back to Clinton cards where the receipt showed it was bought from I was disapionted and upset to be told I'm stuck with the card it's nothing to do with the retailer(unbeliveably)Clinton had no head office contact details available for customers so it's a buyer beware situation - please make sure when buying a giftcard it will be suitable for… Read Full Review

“For The Love Of God Don't Eat The Popcorn!”

Written on: 03/11/2011 by Sian_A (2 reviews written)

This was my first visit to the Haymarket Cinema in London. I had high expectations being in the West End, and to be fair the venue does have a lot of character and the seats were really comfortable and they'd made the best of an old building which I appreciated and quite liked. I understand that London cinemas will automatically charge more for tickets so the extra few £ wasn't unexpected. What I was absolutely appaulled with though was the popcorn. We got one sweet and one salted, neither… Read Full Review

“Awful Wait to buy tickets Awful quality ”

Written on: 27/10/2011 by Pete-Review (2 reviews written)

Cineworld have closed their box offices and are selling tickets at the food counters to save on staff and sell you food you don't want seemingly to boost profits. Just seen contagion on Orange Wednesday the ticket machines not working and the Que was half hour, we nearly missed the show. Once in the show the picture quality is awful grainy low reslution poor colours and way too loud even for a deaf old so and so like me. Food prices are absolute joke with the best part of a tenner getting some… Read Full Review

“Cineworld - Really?!”

Written on: 06/10/2011 by Racki (1 review written)

Firstly I am very disappointed at the range of movies shown at our local cineworld. Having initially taken out the unlimited card due to the closeness of the cinema to our house, quite often if we want to see a Bollywood, foreign or slightly niche movie we have to travel an extra 30 miles each way to a different cinema to see it. Most of these films that aren't shown coincidently do have poster advertisements at our local cineworld. There are 9 screens so it baffles me why they will have the… Read Full Review

No.1:there is ALWAYS gonna be a crowd (yes I accept thr is a large movie going population@Ilford) but the queue management - TOTAL ZERO! thr are 4 counters but only 2 out of 4 function...and even those 2 move like snails.. No.2: thr will be adverts for the 1st 30minutes and if you think u can get in… Read Full Review

“Cineworld- Glasgow”

Written on: 18/08/2011 by lynsey84 (5 reviews written)

Im an unlimited card holder of 6 years so visit the Cineworld Glasgow quite frequently. Overall i think the unlimited card is great value for money, the cinema is nice, clean, comfortable and the staff are pretty good (had a couple of occasions where i've not been impressed with staff, but nothing major) Only issues i have: One is a common complaint for unlimited card holders which is the not being able to pre book. It can be a total pain when u wanna see a new movie and you have to go early… Read Full Review

“Great if you want to wait (or miss your film)!”

Written on: 25/06/2011 by Annoyedtim (1 review written)

Chesterfield 25/06/2011 If you live in Chesterfield then you are kind of stuck with over priced local facilities but this cinema has extremely bad service. As others have said, you have to buy tickets at the good counter, and with only one or two very average staff, it takes ages to get served, even if you just want a ticket. The reality of this is that it can easily take 40 minutes to get served by which time you are past the last sale time (tens minutes after official start time) and then… Read Full Review

Saturday 26 February 2011 15:15 Sheffield, Booked tickets online to watch Big Momma's House, i was hoping to pick my tickets up at self service machines at the cineworld sheffield centertainment, the ticket machines were all out of order, went to join a very long queue which meant our movie was started before it we were served, i was told at the counter the system cant find my booking because the movie i booked for has already stated so they have to book me on the next viewing which is about 2… Read Full Review

Written on: 14/02/2011 by Tacarna (1 review written)

Myself and 4 other members of my family have had unlimited cinema cards for over 4 years. I have paid in total for the full 4 years over 3000 pounds. However the counter where you used to purchase tickets from, has now been closed and tickets are available from the food kiosk (which is a pain when there is a queue for people only wanting refreshments in front of you). You cannot book films in advance and I visited the cinema early this morning to get my tickets for a one of showing tonight and… Read Full Review

Written on: 22/01/2011

Just returned from another horrendous experience as Cineworld. Took my 2 small children to see Shrek. When we got there the queue was enormous, as usual only 1 person working. Why only have one person working on a Saturday!, I queued for 20 minutes to be told when I was finally served this was now sold out. There was nothing else showing that was suitable for my children. I then had to pay for parking for not even seeing a film.
I will never go to Cineworld again… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/01/2011 by zecko (3 reviews written)

I have had an unlimited card since 2003 and for the first time I am considering not renewing for the following reasons:

-The unlimited card does not allow you to pre-book so for blockbuster movies you have to go the cinema really early to ensure a seat. There have been times when I decided to pay online (even if I have a card) to make sure I had a place because I couldn't be there an hour before.

-Even if you have an unlimited card, you get charged a extra fee for 3D movies, not for the… Read Full Review

Sisu's Comment

Written on: 22/09/2011

Unless you are an ex projectionist, or you are in the industry, comments like the above are, flawed.
Having been in the industry for 20 years, i do know what i am talking about when it comes to the presentation of film, & believe me , you, would seriously know when 3d is out of focus. Its easy to write comments like that, when the vast majority of people have no idea what goes on in a projection box, ask if you cvan have a look, next time you visit a cinema, prepare to be humbled. Written on: 29/11/2010

Every time I have been to Cineworld something has been wrong. Generally it is the quality of the service; it is normally slow, ungracious and quite frankly unprofessional. I queued for nearly 40 mins one day for a film, it wasn't a long queue but there was only one person serving while a manager sat in the next booth/till teaching a new member of staff how to work everything - don't get me wrong, I know everyone has to learn etc etc but at a peak time probably isn't the ideal moment. I have to… Read Full Review

Written on: 13/11/2010

I have had an unlimited card for 3 years and have only ever used it at the great Cineworld at Ashton Moss. I have always found the screens clean and the seats comfortable with good picture and sound even in the smaller screens. Film choice is excellent with so many screens. I only ever buy coffee as popcorn and soft drinks are always ludicrously priced no matter which cinema you go to. They occasionally supply tickets at the refreshments counter but this doesn't bother me as I would be queuing… Read Full Review

Went to see Avatar in 3D. Picture quality was rubbish. Had brown tinge and none of the beautiful colours came out. I had seen Avatar previously in an IMAX cinema - what a difference. I will definately not got to watch 3D films at the Aberdeen Union Square.

“The Enfield Cineworld branch has the most consistently...”

Written on: 18/08/2010

The Enfield Cineworld branch has the most consistently appalling customer service of any place I've ever been. The queues are frequently enormous, which is to be expected at peak times, but the cinema does not bother to increase the number of staff on the ticket desks to help with this! Another reviewer has complained that the staff aren't overly friendly, just focussed on selling tickets as quickly as possible. I have never noticed the ticket desk staff being in a hurry to do anything. They… Read Full Review
