They are very easy to contact if you have a problem or just a question. I am very pleased to have a car insured with Norwich Union Direct Car Insurance

Car was stolen dec 07. reported straight away to police and NU. Sent all keys & docs in as requested. NU now saying one of my keys is a fake key!! refusing to pay claim. I have proof from car manufacturer these are correct keys too. Looks like i'm taking them to court. It has been sooooooo stressful ...

I had a claim show against my policy that didn't even involve me. 3 weeks later and I'm still trying to get it resolved. I made a complaint, was assured it was dealt with, but it wasn't. Renewal coming up in March and am facing a premium double what it should be because I have 'lost' all my no claim ...

Had a claim, first one for 12 years, and it was a non fault accident. Norwich Union took 8 days to have the car collected and supply hire car. 4 weeks to repair the car (It was ready after 2 but no one told me!) To get this far has taken 18 phone calls and 3 letters. After paying £640 for my previous years insurance, I tried elsewhere.My average quote is about £300, Norwich Union now want £840.

The 'choose one of these 6 options' routine will take 10 to 20 minutes. Then you are through to India and a confusing q and a session to establish who you are and why you're calling.
Then you discover you're through to the wrong department........

I found Norwich Union good to start with. but beware of rising premium after 2 years.

had a bump where a car drove into the back of mine.norwich union did not reply to the other insurance company. i phoned many times to get them to reply they still did not reply. had a letter from the other insurance saying if they dont reply within 7 days they would pursue me for the accident.7 days ...

Demand a courtesy car instantly if part of your insurance, demanding it, giving them a hard time if required. Dont accept any excuses or passing the buck.

Very happy and no cause for complaint after 4 or 5 years with both cars insured with them. Now switching to sure cover due to price advantage.
