I setup a website for a charity and after the charity moved the domain name away apparently a hosting renewal notice was sent to me (which I have never found) and, because I did not respond, I was charged a renewal fee by default. They refused to refund this even though hosting was useless without a domain name which they actually admitted. They hold your credit card details and if renew things by default. “You cannot deal with people on the other side of the...”

They cut you off without warning! The first time the excuse was they had the wrong contact details which I asked them to change and they said they did but actually did not I even gave my credit card details to prevent them not being paid on time. This time they have cancelled the account without warning even though my credit card info is still in their data base. Seems they did not use the information they had on file. “Incompetent, do not answer direct questions, keep well...”

“Do not support MODx, would not refund out side of 30 days”

I am Web developer. A Guy comes to me and says he wants a web site built with Modx. Fine I built him a site in Modx. He says he has already bought hosting and a domain with Streamline. I had a look at the scripting requirement to see if MODx is supported and all looks good, but the pack he bought did not include a database. “limited support, and mail not compatible with Firefox”

No down time that Im aware of, except on e-mail: I was once one whole day without being able to access my mails. Their support service is only available Monday to Friday, office hours. They are not very fast at responding and often give the impression of copying their answers from a book without reading the question properly first, hence wasting your time and theirs. I left Streamline over a year ago for many of the reasons listed here and elsewhere on the web — Recently - as happens after a year - my current provider "asked" for a renewal which I was more than happy to do - I also received several emails from Streamline stating that payment for services could not be "taken" from my credit card - Luckily the card is no longer valid but if it were I would have lost a lot of money to Streamline despite clearly (I thought) ending my contract with them for not providing a reasonable let alone good service

Have used this company for four years. They have been unable to solve problems with their own web design part of the site which made it impossible for me to use the page correctly, finally gave up and abandoned it. “Reading these reviews I and two others must be the...”

I've been with streamline since 2008 as a bulk user and quite honestly I've never a problem at all. I've never had our main website down, it loads quickly and never had any problems with .php or mysql - our website does over 50Gb of transfer a month. I don't use streamline's email, you wouldn't want to anyway. A third party solution like authsmtp is so much better. I'm hoping I'm not a one off but I've never had any issues. Any problems have been resolved via their support ticket and although I didn't get money back I effectively paid in advance & received equivalent compensation. I have recommended streamline to a family member... who, hasn't had any issues yet. “Dreadful Servive”

I have been a client for about 5 years now and the only reason I haven't changed is because of the work involved in moving away. The server times out when trying to download the site. So that stops you moving before you even begin... It gets worse! 99.9% uptime.. Joke! My sites are all down and have been for over 24 hours. “Thieves! the worst company!”

I fell for their trial "SCAM" can't think of a more fitted word, canceling it over the phone and via their way "support ticket". i was still charged. Not to mention being charged twice for a domain name, check your accounts! I feel violated how they think they can charge and take money out of my account as and how they seem fit. “Really bad”

A month ago my website hosted by streamline.net went down and since then I have been experiencing the inadequacy of their technical support team. So far it's 14 emails and counting - during which time they have denied that they ever hosted my website, have done everything they can to fob me off even though I recently renewed my account. I have used Streamlinenet for around 9 Years at first no problems but now complete rubbish help their selves to money with no warnings prices have gone up alarmingly I cannot understand with the comments you have put here that you give them 4 star ratings I have several sites that I am closing down with them.

Thankyou krone9 for your response, though I take offense at some of your answers!

Re Sky High prices: This comment was added following your assertion of 'Great budget host' when comparing their price/package deals against better hosts they come out badly. I didn't buy from them, it was several of my clients, who asked me to rescue them after troubles and I then experienced the Streamline.net level of service during updates then extrication of sites. One of my clients comments on their new host 'Wow, so much cheaper and miles better'.

My experience is also that any time a host restricts sql databases that that is a big warning of limited ability in managing a server, and streamline greatly restricts databases.

The whole point of comments is reply to reviews to which you either agree or are contrary to your experience.

I disagree that most internet reviews will be negative as people with positive experiences won't bother, just take a look at other hosts reviewed here, some have very largely positive reviews

Thanks for the comments on my review. If you disagree (which you clearly do) I suggest you post your own review. I posted here because, typically internet reviews focus on negative experiences because people with neutral or positive experiences can't be bothered to post. I had a few minutes so I chose to post my thoughts.

If their prices are "sky high" that presumes that you have paid for them knowing there are cheaper options. That makes you look pretty stupid. I also don't appreciate the comments that suggest I work for Streamline and am "blowing my own trumpet". I signed up for ReviewCentre to post this review, and give another side to things.

The whole point of a review site is to give lots of people's opinions so that prospective customers can weigh them up and make a more informed decision. You don't have to agree with them all, nor should you expect to. Arguing with them is just foolish. Please move along.

In my experience, Streamline hosting just sits there and works. I very very rarely have problems with it, and when I do, I tend to get them resolved pretty quickly with little effort. If I wanted better customer service I would expect to pay for it. I don't want to pay more, so I'm happy with what I get. They have also quickly downscaled and upscaled my package when I needed them to. They have never ever stolen money from me.

I`ve had the misfortune to have to deal with Streamline.net and can confirm that their performance is appalling and their prices sky high.

However in response to Guest's comment, I have noted before how there are periodically batches of positive reviews here for Streamline.net, all from new reviewers who never submit any other reviews, I think the term is blowing your own trumpet ;)
