“Very slow ”

Cirencester Tesco filling station. Once again take ages to authorise a pump. Stood watching the 2 members of staff chatting with each other. Not interested and in no hurry. I find it quite frustrating as this happens with regularity at the station.

“Breakdown !!”

★★★★★

written by Trebor26 on 25/11/2023

Tesco Fuel Station Uttoxeter. I fuelled my wife's TT up, locked it and went to pay. All good - Staff were great as usual and very friendly ???????? Went to the car and key fob failed so popped back to explain why I couldn't move the car. No problem ... lent me a screwdriver and other odd tools to access the key fob but no luck also 2 customers tried to help whilst I was waiting for Audi Breakdown. But the staff were superb J, J & G (no names) not just friendly but genuinely trying to help and it just shows ... There really are nice / great people in this world thank you ladies (all) very very much ???? Tesco you have GREAT Staff.

“Rarely receipts available on automatic pumps”

★★☆☆☆

written by PhilZZr on 22/07/2023

I'm really fed up with Tesco Petrol stations failing to either have their receipt machines stocked with paper or unable to print a paper receipt as 'not working'. Is it legal to sell a product and fail to provide a receipt (if needed?)

“Rude staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by DaniaStrickland464 on 06/01/2023

Attended fuel station as usual. Now you get used to the fact they never have fuel and signage until you're in the queue to advise is non existent. However it's another thing when pay at pump isn't working again and the staff (dark short hair) are rude. Then they're talking about you as you leave! Meir park

“Rude member of staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Snowxl75 on 28/11/2022

Went to purchase diesel Rainham Tescos. No receipt available so had to go in store. While I was there I purchased two packs of chewing gum. Each at 60p. Staff member said I owe £1.30 So I said they were 60p each that’s £1.20 she insisted that I owe her £1.30 and she said they were the others on the shelf so I went to show her the ticket and she said arrogantly that I didn’t need to do that and again she insisted that I pay her 65p each. Then she said that price is for menthol so a gentleman behind said yes the other price is spearmint and the gentleman has menthol, so she said I need to swipe them again I gave them back to her and she threw them back at me. If your having a bad day don’t take it out on the customers or don’t work there with that attitude.Simple!

“Sleaford lincs, diesel prices”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Squiggy2 on 03/11/2022

Came past Tesco garage at Market Rasen today, diesel price £179-9 per litre. On arriving home decided to fill up at their Sleaford store only to find they were charging £194-9 per litre that's 68p more per gallon. That's blatant profiteering.

“£10p - £11p profit - making over customers desiel ...”

★★☆☆☆

written by Alvin327 on 22/07/2022

Tesco and supermarkets like Asda, M&S and Morrisons have put profit first before the customer. Petrol and diesel prices in the UK | Latest fuel price data from the RAC report reveals. Suppermartes should lower Diesel and Petrol prices to £10p 0r £11P some are even making more if they are charging over if charging around £190. Customers should shop around, Costco are way cheaper and other small independent fuel stations

“No fuel”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AnastasiaVetrova on 08/07/2022

Had red light on, went to the Tesco petrol station near Brent Cross to get some fuel, after 20 minutes driving realised there were still red light on and the miles didn’t go up at all. On the way back came over, they unhappily checked the pump which pour the same amount in the bottle. I said well it didn’t when I was there I clearly can see that. And the answer was I put in too little fuel, and everything okay. Besides that one guy was interrupting me with the word “Listen!” when I was trying to explain the situation and telling me what I was doing wrong. How crazy is that?! Anyway never come back, don’t want to give away free money to Tesco.

“DIESEL CONTAMINATION”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ItzelMcCarthy457 on 14/07/2017

Filled my BMW up with diesel at Tesco Swindon using the same pump once a fortnight. The fuel was contaminated with water and silt which built up over a period of months. Car eventually broke down and cost my insurers around £7,000 for BMW to fix. Tesco denied it and my Insurer's solicitors gave up the case and I lost my excess and got a fault claim against me. It is always the modern BMW engines that fall over first with diesel contamination but BMW and the cheap fuel suppliers don't want you to know. It's a scandal and will get worse as more modern BMWs come down in price. Only buy fuel in Shell now.

“poor standard of station”

★☆☆☆☆

written by theansweris42 on 22/09/2016

Tesco Park Farm, Ashford, Kent, the forecourt is always dirty and covered in spilt fuel which is annoying when you carry it back in to your car on your feet but down right dangerous for motorcyclist's who can slip and drop their bike when putting it on the stand or get their tyres coated in it and loose control at the round-about at the exit. Most of the nozzle's are battered and dribble fuel everywhere and surge so you don't get a smooth flow of fuel which leads to more spillage. I've reported the problems to the staff several times but they seem uninterested and nothing changes!

“Charges for using card”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Willoughbymi375 on 08/08/2016

I have just found a £1 charge for filling at tesco garage. I presume this is for using the card facility at the station. I will be checking the notifications next time as it was not evident of excess charges for using my card.

“contaminated fuel”

★☆☆☆☆

written by qkMcCarty158 on 04/06/2016

petrol at Tesco seems to contain contaminates again both myself and a friend filled up with petrol at Tesco in south bank Middlesbrough on the 27th May 2016. Both cars broke down within 2 miles of the petrol station coincidence? I think not luckily I have a friend who owns a garage locally and was able to get home her car though had to go in for repairs costing nearly £1000. when I have looked on the internet to report this problem it seems this is quite a regular occurance. hence I will not be using Tesco fuel again.

“No fuel”

★★★☆☆

written by Tanya1961 on 20/03/2015

Has anyone ever paid for diesel and not got any from the pump. Went to large supermarket petrol station in Belfast this morning as there was 76 miles left before running out(I hate to let the red light come on). Paid £10.00 for diesel, for a Clio that will take it up to over 130 miles. But quickly noticed after leaving the mileage hadn't changed and the gauge needle hadn't moved either. When i contacted them they done a pump check (or so they said) and that there was no nothing wrong with it. There was nothing they would do. I know there is nothing wrong with my car. Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Apart from a serious fault, the pump wouldn't have incremented and you wouldn't have been have been charged any money at the till. And this would have been illegal as the pump is a calibrated measuring device. Any further concerns should be (have been) taken up with trading standards.

In reality, its likely that the £10.00 you put in wasn't enough to register with the electronic fuel sender in the car once it had reached a low level. This has happened with me on both my own and a work VW Caddy. A little extra fuel and the gauge will mysteriously jump up to the correct level. Annoying because you have no idea what the real state of play is.

“Confused and costly”

★★★☆☆

written by Arnavu112 on 13/03/2015

Has anyone else had £2 removed from their bank account after buying fuel in tesco? They take the actual amount owed £20 then an additional £2. Now the £2 doesn't actually go from your account but will show as pending for a few days , not a problem if you've got spare cash but causes a huge problem if your bank won't pay a direct debit payment because of it . I enquired in my bank and was told this is definitely what's happening

Just to add I have now been charged £6 by my bank for the direct debit not being paid, so my £20 of petrol has now cost me £26 , thanks a lot tesco

Were you using the pay at pump service with your card? If so, it could be because they were checking you had some funds in order to pay first. I've never used pay at pump, nor heard of the service doing this before, nor seen a £2 charge being used. But this way of checking a card really exists and is good for credit is used by a lot of service providers before the real billing amount is drawn. The last one I saw on my card was for Microsoft services, who always use a £1 'fee' which is never drawn completely.

“Very poor quality!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Camren63 on 15/02/2015

Stop using Tesco's petrol! You're not saving any money, In fact it will cost you more in the long run. I had my car serviced in Oct 2014. This week my emission light came on! My car has been running very sluggish lately! So I read reviews on Corsa cars regarding emission light coming on, and a lot of comments were saying not to use Tesco or Adsa fuel!. I went to Tesco's and bought Radex, which ironically is half price £2, then went Esso and filled my car up and added half a bottle of Radex. I drove around Town and I noticed straight away the car seemed to have more go in it!! I drive just over 40 miles a day and noticed the gauge would drop very quickly using Tesco's petrol, already I can seeI will be making a saving by using Esso petrol. I will need to have a new sensor fitted which is not cheap. We are being ripped off by Tesco

“Tesco Octal Way Swindon”

★☆☆☆☆

written by stubuck1 on 21/01/2015

Major problems with my van after filling up with approx 65 litres of diesel from Tesco in Swindon.Fuel contamination light came on after 12 miles, ended with van being recovered from M4 at rush hour after engine cut out in middle lane overtaking lorry. Tesco customer service was non existent, and they denied all responsibility for the problem. My van has full service history , low milage and has always been maintained correctly. Very disappointed with this supermarket giants response.
