“Great for online shopping”

Written on: 12/08/2012 by hilarybigm (2 reviews written)

I do my weekly shop online at sainsbury's every week and they deliever. I've been doing this for about 6 years and I've never had any problems, I've had the ocasicall thing missing but when I call up to say they always deduct the price from my bill or send out a substitute. I love having my shopping basket with all my favorites in it as it saves me time and all in need to add is my weekly extras. I'm always really happy with the service I get from Sainburys … Read Full Review

“Terrible Company, Rude Staff and No Customer Care”

Written on: 02/08/2012

When I walk into Sainsbury's I feel demoralised. Compared to Tesco, Waitrose and the Co-operative there is just no care. They employ a large number of teenagers from my area (which is great) but the staff turnover is disgraceful, you see a new face every week. I look out for these things because I used to manage a store myself. It's because of this large turnover that they don't seem to care about the service they provide, which is then inflicted on us, the customers. When I'm trying to shop… Read Full Review

“Best online service ever!”

Written on: 01/08/2012 by headjess (7 reviews written)

I do not currently own a car and have got into the habit of doing my weekly shop online. I use mysupermarket to compile my shopping list and find the best deals and overall price and then order accordingly. Now overall my shop always seems to be cheaper from Asda, however the quality of the fresh food and delivery service are not that great so I tried Saisniburys out. This worked out slightly more expensive but this on my opinion was well worth it. My fruit and veg was much nicer and there… Read Full Review

“Sainsbury's Misleading Offers=Hoodwinking!”

Written on: 26/06/2012 by AngleGrinder (1 review written)

Sainsbury's apricot wheats cereal have been sold for £1.50 for several weeks and today back up to £1.99 a 32% increase, so much for inflation coming down, more like profiteering, but Sainsbury's like Tesco think customers are daft and don't remember prices! They both constantly do this with wines and beers, you never know where you stand. So avoid these supermarkets until they play fair and transparent with customers!… Read Full Review

“Disappointment with Online Shopping”

Written on: 23/06/2012

I was very disappointed with my forst and last experience of Online Shopping with Sainsbury's. I ordered the meat offer of £10 for 3. One of the items was unavailable, so they substituted this with a product, twice the size, and £4 more. and when I stated I did not want such a large substitute, it was removed, and therefore I lost the offer, and ended up paying more. for the two items. I also ordered the milk, for the Jug-it. There was an offer, that if you bought so many packets of milk… Read Full Review

“One word for Sainsbury's i.e. DIRE!”

Written on: 12/06/2012

I have shopped at Sainsbury's for years. Yesterday I went to the deli counter for some sun blush tomotoes. The young man there was lovely I must say. As there the product I wanted wasn't displayed, he went off to see if he could find it for me. He eventually returned (quite jovially which was great) as he had managed to find some for me. However, a lady arrived and informed him (in front of other customers) that he was not allowed to provide the tomotoes for sale (not sure why). I was very… Read Full Review

“Over priced”

Written on: 07/06/2012 by Supermac63 (2 reviews written)

Only shop in Sainsbury's Telford now and again but always disappointed, comparing similar items with Asda they are mainly more expensive. I try and avoid buying wine there as the offers are often misleading, bought a £10 bottle of red recently reduced to £5 and it would have been pushing it to class it as a house wine. Asda have genuine offers on quality wines.   Checkout is also terrible, never enough staff on, even at busy times, and express checkout is just a gimmick and a waste of… Read Full Review

“Disappearing items”

Written on: 24/05/2012

I have been using this branch for over 10 years. Over the last 6 months and more I have frustratingly been unable to purchase more and more of particular items that I used to buy regulary in this branch. My only alternative option is to use the on-line delivery website, as deliveries come from the Sydenham Savacentre site which is considerably larger and has a far larger range of items, but it is not economical to have to pay the ridiculous delivery charge for the sake of about 10 items… Read Full Review

“staff attitude deterioration”

Written on: 23/05/2012

I have shopped at Sainsbury Fulwell Sunderland for as many years even before it was Sainsbury but just lately I have found a change in the attitude of the staff - although I must admit there is an older lady who is so polite and friendly. They no longer greet you as you place your food down and they do not assist should you need a carrier bag - I bring my own but sometimes may need an extra bag - and most of all they do not give you eye contact at the till. There used to be a very friendly… Read Full Review

“You don't pay what you get”

Written on: 23/05/2012 by Shopper12345678 (1 review written)

I live near Oxford and have been living in Norwich for few years, tried all supermarkets for more than dozen times, Sainsbury's food quality is among the worst and yet the most expensive. The meat, fruit, veg quality are so bad compare to Morrisons or even Tesco. Now I live in Oxford and where I live only have Sainsbury's it is so bad that I have to drive 12 miles more to Tesco to shop everytime. Seriously people need to see what good food quality is by going more than just 1 supermarkets… Read Full Review

“BAD ATTITUDE”

Written on: 21/05/2012

On reaching the checkout queues at Sainsbury Tewkesbury Road today, there were only 4 open for trolley shoppers and each checkout had at least 4 people waiting with LOADED trolleys. I said to a passing member of staff, 'This is awful - can't someone put more staff out - it will take ages to get served'. She ignored me totally. I went over to her again and said that I did not appreciate being ignored at which she replied - 'I WANT TO BE SPOKEN TO POLITELY SO I WILL IGNORE YOU. I asked another… Read Full Review

“Dreadful online experience”

Written on: 04/05/2012 by josephineflight25 (1 review written)

I have always been a big fan of Sainsbury's, ranking it no.1 for the high-st UK supermarkets. However, I recently used their online shopping service and had an awful experience. They sent it to the wrong address (my billing address), then when I called up I couldn't change the address (even though it hadn't been delivered yet) and my only option was to cancel half the order. Also, the first person I spoke to on the phone (Mr Gerard 31537) was like a human robot - totally unapologetic and… Read Full Review

“Very disappointed with the delivery service”

Written on: 21/04/2012 by cc77 (1 review written)

I've ordered groceries online from Sainsburys and other suppliers before and never encountered bad attitude like this before. There were 2 delivery men and they quickly pointed out that they wouldn't bring the bags higher than 1st floor, even though my flat is on the 2nd floor. I was very surprised as I've never heard this during previous Sainsburys deliveries. Their attitude was very blasé and they kept saying that it is in the terms and conditions. I went upstairs to open the door to my… Read Full Review

Pullenuk's Response to cc77's Review

Written on: 19/05/2012

You can't blame the driver for you not reading the terms and conditions in the first place. If you have read them, you wouldve phoned up and made them aware, then the driver might get permission to do the delivery.

Without permission, if they get injured - they will not get paid. So I don't blame them for not wanting to come up the extra floor, they don't get paid enough as it is.

“Sainsburys Jubilee Family Festival Ballot??”

Written on: 20/04/2012 by Sapper1508 (1 review written)

I spent over £60.00 at Forestside Sainsburys and got a ballot ticket for the Hyde Park Family Festival. When I read the terms and conditions it said that people living in Northern Ireland do not have to make any purchases and that ballot ticket can be obtained from the service counter. when I asked the wee girl at the service desk she said there were no tickets and if I spent another £60.00 I could have another go, anyway nobody reads the terms and conditions. “Overpriced & understaffed.”

Written on: 18/04/2012

I live very close to the new Sainsbury's superstore in North Manchester. Apparently the store was built at a cost of £25 million.Since the new store has opened, the prices of most goods have increased dramatically. Sainsbury's was always the 1st of the many stores i use to put prices up,but their prices have recently become ridiculous. 2 years ago,a bottle of Sains.own 'Basics' Vodka cost £6.79,the current price is £9.29.Tesco's 'own brand' Vodka is £8.79p.
