Pls pls pls, think twice and then think again beore booking this cruise as its so dissapointing, the carpets in the cabins and dirty with stains all over them, the beds have springs coming through them and a lot of people on board have told me the same..The food at best is cafe type and nothing special at all,but they dont mind giving you better food if pay extra for it in the oasis restaurant.. The captain said at his talk in that the ship was tired,ha thats grubby, unclean and worn out then… Read Full Review

We have just returned fron 7 nights on the Island Escape thompson canary cruise, the ship has had a refit but the captain told us it was the engines not the interior, which is very threadbare worn out and desperate for an internal refit, the staff were wonderful ,friendly and helpful ,the food is British and what you would expect in a 3 star hotel ok but not great, The rooms were at best basic nothing fancy on this ship, but the cabin steward kept it spotlessly clean and tidy. The public areas… Read Full Review

i would just like to pass on my experience on this ex ferry having just returned. Firstly the ship is old, dated and smelly.Anyone who thinks otherwise must be mad!We had a very rough 3 days in total at sea which in my opinion the ship coudnt handle the rough waters. The staff try their best and the show team did some excellent performances. One thing i would like to say is staff should concentrate on the cleanliness if the ship instead of squirting sanitizer on your hands every 2 minutes.I would… Read Full Review

My husband and i have just returned from a brilliant cruise on the Island Escape and can honestly say ' we loved it'. From the minute we got onboard to the minute we left we were looked after so well. The service we recieved was outstanding, the food we ate was brilliant and the entertainment was out of this world. The only bit we struggled with as did many others was the day at sea, but in all honesty Morroco is worth the wait. Marrekech was the best excursion we did, very interseting… Read Full Review

It's the first time we have been on a cruise all the staff were friendly and helpful nothing was to much trouble. The excursions are a little over priced but all the tour guides knew everything and anything for the given tour. The service on the ship was fantastic start to finish, the food was plenty all day & night.
Two negative points, #1. The pool water had the smell of diesel which makes me think it's dragged up from the sea bottom when the ship docks, although the day out on the Corsican… Read Full Review

Myself and my Fiance have just returned from a weeks holiday on the Island Escape. I am absolutely amazed that this so called Ship has got any good reviews. Its an absolute joke.
Ill start with the good points because there are only a few: firstly the stops were good as long as your able to use a train as the excursions are an absolute rip off (ill get to that in a bit). Secondly the waiting staff are good and attentive.
Now for the negatives using the tender boats is a complete joke… Read Full Review

This was a fantastic cruise. I honestly dont know what all the negative attitudes are about. Yes the ship is is need of a little refurbishment, nut it is due to go in for this during the winter. The staff and crew go above and beyond the call of duty to look after and please all guests. The cabins are kept immaculately clean by the cabin stewards. A special mention to Nelish here, He was fantastic, making a little towel sculpture each morning as a surprise to return to the cabin and find. Food… Read Full Review

Staff are brillant they make this knackered boat come alive the entertainment was dreadfull like a saturday nite at sarga holiday camp.Food was ok ,service was spot on .Toilets were limited and were hanging in parts but clean and only a few on certain floors so you had to be quick to find them.As we were on 3rd floor the noise from the engine and prop was a constant rumble the smell of hydralic oils coming from the lifts were a serious worry. As this was our first cruise i would ADVICE you to… Read Full Review

High season cruising can be expensive but if you are prepared to compromise a little on the luxury other big brand ships offer, you need not miss out on good quality food, reasonable entertainment, perfectly acceptable accommodation and still visit exciting ports and local destinations that the other cruise ships go to.
This sums up Island Cruises and their only ship the Island Escape. Whilst the ship is certainly dated and goes in for a re-fit at the end of this year, the food on offer is of… Read Full Review

Just returned from 7 nights aboard Island Cruise, was very dubious after reading some dreadful reviews, This ship was absolutely brilliant we could not fault anything, the food was very good, plenty of variety, the staff excellent, very helpful and friendly, they could not do enough for you. The entertainment was first class. Our cabin was kept spotless by our Cabin Boy Daneish… Read Full Review

We were dubious about this cruise after reading alot of the negative reviews, but we were going on a family holiday there were 16 of us, so we booked it with an open mind. You get what you pay for, the ship does require a reburb, but its very clean, the food is excellent, so is the entertainment, the cabins are small and require re-modernisation, but on a cruise you dont spend your time in your cabin other than to sleep and refresh? The restuarant and lounge areas are comfortable enough… Read Full Review

We have just returned from a 14 day holiday on the Island Escape, This is our 2nd cruise on this ship our last was in May 2008, so we knew what it was like. We have had two great cruises. We could not fault anything from arrival to departure. Our cabin steward Nelish couldn't do enough to look after us and our cabin was kept clean and tidy, as he came in at least twice every day to make sure everything was ok. The entertainment every night was top class and varied. The food as usual was… Read Full Review

just returned from 7 days on the Island Escape, 2nd time was on the ship in Sept 2009, so we knew what it was like. We had a great cruise in Sept, could not fault anything, know it needs an upgrade but every aspect of the cruise outshone that. This time however the food was not as good, everything was only warm, not hot like we like it, the quality of food was not as good, vegetables and potatoes were hard and very undercooked. However the holiday was still great the whole crew make everyone… Read Full Review

after reading some of the reviews I began to worry! We had booked before we read them. Now I have been and seen for myself. Was I on the same ship as these people had been on, if so what do they want. Ship was old yes, no denying that, but it was immaculate. Hand hygene sprays at every doorway. cleaners cleaning toilets in public places all day long. Bedrooms (cabins) cleaned and tidied twice a day, clean towels and bed linen every day, food was good quality and plenty of variety in both… Read Full Review

I returned yesterday from my second cruise on the Island Escape with my friend.I had read all the negative reviews but having travelled previously in 2008 I did not pay too much attention. We booked at the last minute, travelled from our local airport (Doncaster) and got an outside cabin on Deck 7 and we felt we got a bargain.
Yes, the ship is old and desperately needs some refurbishment particularly in the cabins but we didn't spend much time in there. The crew are amazingly hard working… Read Full Review
