I bought my Weihrauch HW35 gun for £50 and it was the best investment I have ever made. Now after I bought a whisper silencer and a 4x32mm sight it is a formidable, reliable gun with pin point accuracy and a lot of character… Read Full Review

Written on: 30/04/2004 by Adam K (1 review written)

I've had a Weihrauch HW35 for about four years and out the six guns that I own incluing a .22 rimfire it is my favourite.

It looks mean with the front sights taken off (I've got a Tasco 4x40 on it) sounds great and the adjustable trigger system is the best around.

This gun can be 'over powered' with ease.
But remember you may need to get a fire arms certificate… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/12/2003 by russell bland (2 reviews written)

The hw35 can hold it's own with most air guns including pneumatic's. i've got the hw100 and a well tuned bsa lighting, the hw35 is as accurate as both better accuracy than the bsa, all of my hunting was done with the hw35 and at 35-45 yard's rabbit's have no chance. I've tuned it so my h&n and air arms are dead on the legal limit.
it's obvious if you think the gun is a piece of rubbish, one you dont know how to use it properly or the gun is so knacked it just doesn't fire in the right direction… Read Full Review

I baught my hw35 second hand for £65, i spend another £65 on a silencer, a 4X40 simmons scope and mounts. I restained the walnut stock myself and now it looks like new. Its is deadly accurate and as silent as a light breeze. if u stand 10 ft. away from it and shoot u cant hear a thing. It is very, very powerfuland can go through a taget at 60 ft. away. The best gun i have ever owned… Read Full Review

Written on: 04/09/2002 by Ben. (1 review written)

I have a Weihrauch HW35 carbine with the thumbhole stock. I have had this gun for a few years now. It is probably the best gun I currently own. My BSA Supersport Custom Carbine E/E is close in quality but not quite. My Diana 34 is far behind. These two guns have a little more power than the HW but not by much. Neither shoot as well or as accuratley. That may be a bonus of the extra weight. At 6ft 200lbs the extra pound of the HW35 is hardly noticable to me. If you don't like this gun don't… Read Full Review

If your BSA supersport & Diana 34 have more power than your hw 35, I would suggest you get the HW 35 tested. It should be showing more power than the other two.

Springers are a lot like airplanes. They may be the same model but no two go together the same. Sometimes it's a lack of quality control like the Chinese springers you could buy for $40.00 but even some top dollar guns have a lot of variation. One that comes to mind is the Diana 48/52 that seems to range from 16 to 21ft/lbs out of the box. Now it could also be that from time to time spring and piston seal material change for one reason or another and with it the performance.

Mr Amundo's Response to 36220_Ben.'s Review

Written on: 27/04/2004

I must have been lucky. Ihad a HW 35 that was tested at 14. I think this shows that airguns, even of the same make & model can have huge differences. This counts more with guns purchased second hand, because you don't know their history. Although I did have a brand new HW90k that was tested at 14 - 15, bog standard not messed with.

Sorry but that is incorrect. The HW35 has never been rated as a "magnum" air rifle. The Factory rates it at 10 ft/lbs but many do a little over 11. My Diana 34 will do 14 and my BSA around 13ft/lbs.

Written on: 01/09/2002 by R Martin. (1 review written)

I first bought this weihrauch HW35 air gun in 1980 and have used it ever since for target shooting & vermin control . It turned out to be a very good buy with an excellent trigger and a very high degree of accuracy with iron or optic sights, but as everyone seems to know it did have a problem with scope creep. I found that one of the best features about the gun with regard to safety was the convenient operation and location of the safety catch which enabled me to leave it on right up until the… Read Full Review

after owning two air rifles which were the hw 35 and hw 80 i'd go for the hw 80 every time. the hw80 is much better built, has a better feel to it due to the weight which i've heard several coments on the hw 80 being too heavy but i've had it for 3 years and its been a pleasure to use so to those guys who say its too heavy, go down the gym! so if you're under 14 then go for the hw35, if you're over 14 then go for the hw80. i've owned both and they're both good rifles but the hw35 seems to be a… Read Full Review

This Weihrauch HW35 air rifle is a first class gun. I got mine second hand and it still shoots like new. Even at 40 yards a well placed shot will drop rabbits and well placed shots are not hard to do with this. I also have a BSA meteor, a Webley Stingray and an old Diana G80 and of them all, this still gets used the most. I would recommend it to anyone… Read Full Review

This Weihrauch HW35 air rifle is a remarkably well made gun and I am proud of it. I think German and American rifles are the best. You can use it for match shooting or hunting.
