I tried to return a laptop having read "no quibble returns" only to find the no quibble was going to cost me 10% plus up to £20 postage as I had ordered it under a company name and they would have to open it to make sure it was OK even though it was still sealed!!! I ordered a head set for son for Christmas. I paid for a specific day delivery ie 23rd December. The dispatch was confirmed on 21st December. It didn't arrive on 23rd as paid for.I received a email saying they were out of stock offering a delivery date 21st January. I was left in lurch for main Christmas present for my son. “Hoverboard and shady practice ”

I ordered a hoverboard and cancelled the order before it was dispatched. I was assured order was cancelled and refund would be processed - not so! Advisor dispatched order and put on notes they had convinced me to keep it and had alleviated my concerns. I was disguised by this behaviour and cannot believe any company would behave in this way. Based on my own experience and the many negative reviews posted online, this company is clearly engaging in all sorts of shady practices.  I ordered a laptop based on the particular spec which was not available elsewhere. “Absolutely terrible ”

The worst experience I've ever had with an online purchase and I never even completed the order. There is no information on the website about the payments they accept, they will charge any card you give them, wait a few days and then tell you it's not an acceptable form of payment. They have no problem taking the money, but they won't process your order and make little to no effort to contact you. We had a quote from one of their sales people for an Apple Macbook pro with retina display 15.4inch. We bought it, paid by card and expected delivery today. Yesterday we had an email to say that they'd cancelled the order as it was out of stock and they could only offer something else, and that their sales team would be in touch. Update: I contacted Laptops Direct, who left a comment on Trustpilot, where I'd left the same review, to contact him and he arranged for the laptop to be supplied to us at the original price agreed. He seemed unsure how this could have happened. It arrived the next day as promised, brand new in a sealed Apple box. Thank you but I hope you are reviewing your sales procedures to stop this from happening to others.

“STAY AWAY !”

I bought a dashcam from Laptops Direct that is incapable of doing what it should, i.e. reading a number plate in motion! Even when I'm parked it cannot focus on passing cars plates. “Watch out if you return goods!!!”

I received a laptop I ordered & was happy with general service. On booting up the laptop I found it was very slow when browsing, so I made sure everything was updated, etc to ensure that wasn't causing an issue. However, after a few days of no improvement I decided to return the laptop, making sure I followed the instructions given by laptops direct exactly. Received Asus N550JK laptop that was faulty (with headphone jack loose), took two calls to arranged return, then number of days passed with no contact and I had to contact them to find out what was happening, then told the laptop screen was smashed and would cost me £100 to repair, and was told the headphone jack that was lose was not and laptop not faulty, (this was loose), then two weeks later the price then increased to £200 to repair. I am also upset with this company's 'LAPTOPS DIRECT' attitude to a customer who bought a present for his child with Goodwill for a Christmas present;
He says. "The ‘fourteen days’ that I am being told is a ‘cooling off period’ by Laptops direct, should, to be fair and reasonable, commence on the day the gift/package was opened by my son. Which was Christmas day and only then, was he able to determine that the laptop wasn’t suitable for school homework and playing games.
In Laptops Direct’s template-reply to my request they have used for the repeated ‘automatic’ replies to me- they assert that the laptop was for a business. I am self-employed and not a business. The order was sent to a home address, not a business address. It was for my 12 year old son.
“...We do not take back unwanted items from a business.”
My son is NOT trying to run a business; the laptop was NOT bought for business use, but to use for his schoolwork and to enjoy playing games. He has asked and begged for a laptop for the past 3 years- so in November I finally saved up and- to make sure it would get to him in time for Christmas- I decided to buy him the laptop using my own account and posted it to him early enough so it would arrive by Christmas.
(I also purchased a 12-month warranty- which LAPTOPS DIRECT also tell me I cannot get a refund for even if I returned the laptop)
I believe that the 14 days should reasonably commence on the day the package was opened by my son, who only then was able to determine that it wasn't suitable for school homework and playing games.
I also was then told to write a letter, so I did and sent it special delivery. No response. The company's Good-will, and willingness to help would have encouraged me to use their store more, to use their services and purchase other products and recommend them to friends, But now I find myself angry and I feel I have been ‘deprived’ of my customers rights. Yes I have been explained their 'rules' but I feel I must broadcast and air this issue to warn their potential customers to not make the same ‘misjudgment’ I did -when buying -too far in advance- what they intend to be a Christmas and Birthday present, opened on that particular date.
Perhaps their company’s online platform agreements might also warn customers about this possibility- regarding Christmas gifts that are bought early and posted in advance –so being deprived of their fourteen day cooling off period?
I told them I would appreciate some positive and favorable action on this issue please but have not received any positive action and no reply to my letter.
I'm not at all happy with Laptop Direct’s automated style of response.
Not only has this company been unable to show any goodwill to a customer but they also seem unable to show any courtesy by responding to a written letter.
I was told to complain by letter, which is what I have done- and I am just still getting their same repeated, copied and pasted automatic reply, a reply which is still trying to assert that I made a business purchase for my sons Christmas Present, when in fact I have informed them differently.
I am now seeking advice and will be advising many friends to not buy goods from this company."
