What a rip-of, don't use them unless you want a headache or u're printing money or smth. I bought a car last year and tried to sell it this January through them. Expensive, but I had heard they are widely read, have the magazine etc. Got only calls from agencies and emails from idiot scammers; ah well I said, moved to ebay and sold the car in 4 days. Got a fair amount of calls from genuine buyers as well. Same car, same pics, same advert (at least ebay will let you personalise the ad); never… Read Full Review

Autotrader are a joke, their customer service is terrible and their general attitude towards their VERY valuable customers stinks. The prices are past the point of rediculous, they keep putting them up without notice and are VERY quickly making themselves unpopular with motor traders - Who account for around 90% of their business. It is actually cheaper to advertise with them if you're a private seller, not exactly reward or thanks for your loyalty over the years eh?! I am a small trader… Read Full Review

I paid £35 to advertise my car for sale on Autotrader. I advertised at the market price for the car. There were many "sellers" offering for a lot less. I called some of them. They were dealers who did not have that car. I.e. they were fake adverts.
The only responses I received were from multiple PayPay scammers claiming to not live in the uK but wanting to buy the car without inspection.
Finally, I wanted to ask Autotrader for a refund. But it is impossible. Their "Contact Us" section… Read Full Review

I purchased a car through the autotrader website about 6 months ago and found it to be quite easy. However, when I came to sell the car via autotrader 6 months later I had an absolute nightmare experience!!!
### THIS COMPANY DOES NOT UNDERSTAND "THE NEEDS OF ITS CUSTOMERS" AND UNLESS IT CHANGES QUICKLY IT WILL FIND ITSELF WITHOUT ANY CUSTOMERS ! READ ON.... ###
Basically, I advertised the car (Toyota Avensis 2006, 40k miles) with them for 6 weeks (£35 x 2 consecutive ads). I took a lot of… Read Full Review

had four cars to sell at first contact from their traders rep so paid 8 pounds per car! (i was amazed by the stats quoted) it all turned out to be sales rubbish so call me stupid if you want. 4 people called for two cars which sold. Have since been using Exchange and Mart online as deal with one person and get a lot of interest at a far more reduced price… Read Full Review

Absolute pants! ask for help only to be told I'd have to pay for this, advice was poor. Would suggest using ebay before ever using this firm again. They quite possibly should be selling spurs, saddles and horses as they are true cowboys!!!!!!… Read Full Review

Autotrader is not what it used to be, Very expensive and mostly foreigners use it to buy.
I sold my car with gumtree for free and had 3 calls before selling it unlike autotrader I had only canvassers, even though they supposedly hide your number.
They are very unhelpful and it was a complete headache to upload photos. Slow and time consuming.
In the good old days they used to take the photos for you at your house.
As to their costs!! Get Real Mr Autotrader!
I will never recommend or use… Read Full Review

Autotrader are killing themselves with revenue from flash adverts. It's so bad that car photos won't load as it's waiting for one of the many web-advert sites to respond. Why their web designer can't change the loading sequence I don't know. For the car I am selling, there were 3 times more on eBay than autotrader - something that I have not seen before. I won't pay their high ad fees if their focus is third -party advertising and I chose this time not not to sell with them and used eBay… Read Full Review

I've used it lot in the past to see what's about if i'm looking for a new car. The search system is fairly quick and it's easy to narrow down on exactly the model of car you are looking for.
It does seem to be fairly overpriced though, i don't know if that's just because it's used mostly by car dealers or not.
Bought a car through there last year and it went through no problems at all, you can normally tell if a seller is genuine over the phone.
Would use again, but as others have said… Read Full Review

Awful, would never use again!
The only call I received was from a company AutoTrader had allowed to call me through their number protection system (I thought this protected you from dodgy callers?!) They convienced me to sign up and spend another £139 to 'guarentee' a sale, (stupid me I know but you trust if AutoTrader allowed the call they are genuine!) So now I am £168 down and not one genuine call from them!
Do not use - sell throught local companies instead… Read Full Review

As result still had to pay £40...it hadnt event went to press but they were kind enough to offer to omit my ad to avoid hassle of callers seeing the vehicle was now sold...money for nothing or what?!… Read Full Review
