Pretty much all web hosts do the same thing, they host your website and take your money. When all is well you should not even notice your host. Your site should be live and your email coming through. The test of a hosting provider is when things go wrong. We've been with Dataflame for 12 months (ASP.NET Elite Package), and what an appalling hosting provider they are. Cheap? Yes, as for everything else, NO! The support team consists of Simon, Adam and so many other great English names, strange then that they struggle to string the simplest sentence together. They constantly fiddle with server settings and our website spends most of its life living as a 404 NOT FOUND error. Dataflame are a no-hassle low-cost provider. They are up almost all the time and when there are occasional problems they are quick to fix them, either by going through Chat or through email. Their PHP and MySQL versions are up to date. They have also been incredibly helpful over the years when I have needed them to install some esoteric piece of software such as IMagick or whatever. I switched to Dataflame in 2008 when I was looking for a more reliable host, prices had gone down a lot since 2001 where it was impossible to get a decently priced web hosting account in the UK let alone with good bandwidth... When you look at Dataflame's prices, which start at 1.99, you would think they either lack features, uptime or support. Dataflame are great and I have used them for loads of client's who did not want to spend much on hosting. I have no complaints with them at all. Only one outage but it was fixed quickly. Another plus point for DF is I think they are very generous on the bandwidth. A lost of hosters give you plenty of space but not much bandwidth… Read Full Review
