Written on: 30/09/2005 by iqreview (1 review written)

Dataflame servers they run cannot support perl scripts properly as my account was suspended several times for overloading the servers.
After my six month contract was due for renewal I emailed them to explain that I did not want to renew as the site that was hosted on them was no longer required, NO REPLY....9 e-mails later, all I get is an email every couple of days stating there is an error with my credit card...OF COURSE THERE IS I HAVE HAD IT BLOCKED TO STOP THEM TAKING MORE MONEY FROM… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/09/2005 by Passion8 (1 review written)

We have sites hosted in the US, and selected a number of UK servers to host our smaller shopping sites with a mind to testing their service and dependability before bringing our US hosted sites back here to the UK. In our opinion Dataflame have failed miserably, the lack of support (why no phone numbers? Our US hosts have them!) and down time is totally unacceptable, so far we have been down now for about 6 hours, we estimate this has already cost us over £2k. Needless to say, we are making… Read Full Review

“Their shocking treatment has left me with no other...”

Written on: 26/04/2005 by webhostreguired (1 review written)

Their shocking treatment has left me with no other choice other than to write a terrible review. - Their support staff do not respond to e-mails.
- Their phone number - if you can find it, always diverts to a fax machine.
- When they do respond to e-mails they used to pretend nothing has gone wrong. Now they say the problem has been resolved, which is normally only for two days at the most before somethingelse goes wrong.
- Often their e-mails are incoherent due to poor english and terrible… Read Full Review

Dataflames server has been down for 48 hours. Their support tells you that they'll be up and running within 10 minutes MAX - and then a few more hours pass. I've had none stop trouble with dataflame and now I don't even have access to my email or my website through them as the servers down and it doesn't look like it'll ever get off its fat lazy backside again.

AVOID AVOID AVOID. All good reviews on this company are written by the company in my opinion… Read Full Review

Written on: 15/12/2004 by Dataflamed (1 review written)

I have had terrible trouble with Dataflame's (www.Dataflame.com) cancellation procedure. The problem with Dataflame.co.uk is stopping them from billing you for additional services. They will not give refunds. They even have the cheek to say they will credit against additional hosting. Duh!
I'm trying to cancel additional service. I don't want more!

I've been trapped by a very under hand procedure.

Renewal - you get a 14 day invoice notice for the next 12 months. When you finally track down… Read Full Review

“Signed up with Dataflame for domain name and hosting...”

Written on: 13/05/2004 by zztopbanana (2 reviews written)

Signed up with Dataflame for domain name and hosting and received email advice that the domain was registered and active. More than 24 hours later the domain name was still available, i.e., hadn't even been registered. At this point, signed up with clickhosting ( www.clickhosting.co.uk ) and they were everything Dataflame weren't - and still are.

When the credit card bill came, the transaction was there from Dataflame so mailed them asking why they had billed for something they hadn't done… Read Full Review

“I opened a reseller account with Dataflame last year....”

Written on: 25/04/2004 by pregmatchall (1 review written)

I opened a reseller account with Dataflame last year. Everything was fine for a few months. Then I had a problem. I use sqlYOG to configure my mysql servers. It connects remotely via port 3306. This was working fine until one afternoon I got a connection error. I contacted dataflame, and they said something like, there's nothing wrong. Then they said it's not on our side, we can connect fine. Then, finally, when pushed, they said; 'sorry we dont support remote connections'. I had specifically… Read Full Review

We've had a very mixed experience of Dataflame. From a business point of view, their offering for resellers is first class. The hosting is easy to set up and run, though we started running into some snags fairly quickly.

First, we found that we couldn't allow clients to preview their sites before DNS transfer. That was soon fixed.

Second, we've had problems with emails from some UK companies and organisations where the emails have started in the UK, but in trying to get to the Dataflame… Read Full Review

Pathetic, Thats all i can say, Auto billed my account after being a good client for 2 years, And then had the cheek to say i agreed to their new terms and conditions (the ones i didn't even know about)... They updated them without a word to any of their clients, A clever way to scam many many clients and it worked! Would not get anywhere with support, they said contact billing, billing said contact support, support said contact sales, sales said contact support and this went on and on.... My… Read Full Review

I think if it is listed in the terms then you cannot complain. You do not signup for a Hire Purchase agreement without reading the small print, why should this be any different.

Same here, the billing department were a nightmare to deal with. They charged my credit card long before the due date, ignored my emails and never apologised for the poor service. When they did reply, it was nasty. Dataflame don't care about customer service or customers, they put all their energies into billing! They even billed me again a month after I cancelled so there's no escape - my advice is to keep your credit card details well away from Dataflame.

Yes I've had the same problem, and I did read the small print and the terms I signed upto didn't have the auto renew part in them and also in the terms I signed up it said they would contact you if they changed there terms but there was no contact... I myself had also been a client of their's for many years.

I had a problem with Dataflame's servers :- there technical support refused to admit the problem existed, and still do.

I know this is a problem with them and not my code becuause at one point a technical person wrote a test script of his own, and found there was a problem. Despite this he still continued to refuse to admit it!

I had to move my site to another webhost in the end.

Will not refund any money they get. Even if you prepay and cancel before the begin date, they will give you the run around.

Avoid this company at all costs.....there are much better companies out there who offer better uptimes.

As a former reseller of theirs, they caused lots of problems with clients because of their excessive downtimes… Read Full Review

We have been a client of Dataflame for 2 years now and have never had any problems. I am a bit surprised by the strong remarks about "refunds" as no where on their site does it offer any money back promises. Their terms & conds clearly statre their policy on Refunds, so I can only suggest that before you sign up to anything in the future, you might actually want to take the time to find out what you are signing up for instead of posting false comments.

David.

<br>You're not one of the apologists I had to deal with are you?
<br>14 day notice of renewal for a 21 day in advance cancellation process. Dataflame are tricksters even if they can justify their actions with clever small print.
<br>
<br>You talk as if they're doing something completely commendable and above board. It's down right sneaky.

Don't mess about with them - if you paid by credit card, which is almost certain, revoke the transaction. The card companies need you more than they need Dataflame.

The Terms and Conditions state that refunds are at Dataflames discretion. Surely, if you are dissatisfied with the service before the begin date of the contract, a refund would be in order to maintain good customer relations. I have to agree with the initial comment about this service provider. There are many better ones out there. This is not the only site I've seen with people who have had problems with the company. Most of the comments I have seen from others revolve around the poor uptimes. Just my opinion.
