Good scooter. The bike does about 45mph tops. It is sturdy enough and actually quite bulky for a 50cc. My only gripe is that it usually prefers to be kicked over when starting from completely cold but it runs fine and is very economical. £10 or so will completely fill your tank from empty and it doesn't guzzle 2 stroke oil either, a bottle will last ages. I've done 430 miles from new and no major problems so far. I did respray the exhaust with black high temp paint as the original paint began to flake but there was no serious rust. Otherwise a reliable fun run around. My previous bike was a Yamaha jog, and in honesty I found it a better faster scoot than the vivacity, but I ran it in Australia for a year so the weather was always perfect for it. The UK rain and snow, the vivacity has been in the shed most of the time. Great bike when new, not sure about 2nd hand or hard used vivacity how they fare but I guess you could do a lot worse.

“Must have got a lucky one”

★★★★★

written by on 16/08/2013

My sister Brought a 2003 model as a run around for £400.. Unfortunately she was ripped off as the seller had bodged the bike to work for a short period. Problems with the auto choke and starter (cleaned carb fixed this) and crankshaft starter tooth. She got fed up and didn't want to wait days for parts to arrive. She got a new model instead. Paid £100 for it. £20 quid on parts. A year and a half later. put 3,000 miles on it last summer!!! and worked flawlessly in the winter on the odd occasion I kept it running. Has not let me down once :) Baring in mind one of the previous owners last serviced it in 2008/2009 with 25,000 miles now on it. I have treated it to a new technigas silent exhaust, new reeds, new piston, new gaskets all round, high quality fuel & oil lines, rollers, belt and a complete carb strip down and clean along with respray (work carried out by me). She will be ready for her next MOT :) for the sake of £200 being spent for a few more summers can't complain. Cracking little bike!!! They need a bit of tlc that's all Cheap to run compared to my Audi RS6!! and more enjoyable in traffic where you are forced to sit in a car not moving. 70+ mpg flatout at a whole whopping stomach turning 30-35 mph.

“DO NOT BUY ABSOLUTE TERRIBLE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 16/06/2013

Bought this scooter for my wife a year ago and it's absolutely terrible for ONE SIMPLE REASON: The starter Bought new battery, and fully drained it. Kicked it like hell it simply doesn't start. It's always been a constant problem. Winter are worse but now is summer and still not working. I have a couple of mates who bought it as well and they have the same problem. Sometime taking 20 minutes kicking before it starts when you're lucky. Stay away from this 'merde' however cheap you get can it.

“My first scooter and I love it!”

★★★★☆

written by Mi55Behaviour on 19/07/2012

I absolutely love my Vivacity. I've been using it for getting around town for 2 months now and I can't understand how I ever managed without it! I don't have much experience of scooters (a few rentals on holiday in Spain prior to this), but I would say that it's pretty nippy and very very comfy. There's bags of room under the seat too which will take my whole weekly shop with room for more. I'm sure that there probably better/quicker bikes out there, but for a novice like me this is the perfect machine (oh, and the insurance is next to nothing!). Overall, I'm very happy - wish I do it years ago!

written by pigglet444 on 13/03/2012

Hello, i have recently just purchsed a vivacity 50cc moped (2003). i baught it for £400 and it runs really well. i havent filled it up with fuel yet as ive only baught it recently. it has a seperate fuel and oil place but the oil looks like it could be 2 stroke oil. it smokes alot more than others. (could be because its old?) email me ([email protected]) if you know anything like if its 4 stroke or 2 stroke. thanks

“not so helpful peugeot office”

★★★☆☆

written by on 30/10/2011

had new moped for two months and the exhaust blow.took 5 days to get new part, got it fitted and within a fortnight it went again, this time they tied it with a plastic tie and it is still holding at the moment.Next thing that went was the plastic below where you put your feet, started to crack.Got in touch with Peugeot in Madrid and they were totally unhelpful saying it was my fault, which I know that it was not as I am of the older generation .Would not recommend this bike at all.

“I have recently bought a Vivacity and absolutely love it. ”

★★★★★

written by on 18/05/2011

I have recently bought a Vivacity and absolutely love it.
I don't have my CBT yet and am currently just practicing on it.
it's a great little bike, cheap to fill, goes for miles and isn't as loud as other scooters i've heard.
I payed £325 for mine and would definately reccommend it to family and friends.
I am only 5 foot 2 and feel really comfortable on the scooter although i do have to get off the seat to move the bike backwards (lol).
Other than that perfect first scooter.

stay away from this 2 stroke! have been riding these scooters for over 6 months and have already gone through three - soon to be 4 as the scooter is leaking fuel all over the place due to cheap faulty parts.

when it works it is good, clocking 37-40mph on a flat straight, the only problem is that it hardly ever works as it generally spends more time getting fixed than on the road which isnt good as i commute daily.

found out they are actually built under license in china? explains cheap parts and poor reliability.
overall - wouldnt reccomend.

“Brought my Vivacity 2 weeks ago brand new 11 plate...”

★★★★★

written by RyanTowers on 26/03/2011

Brought my Vivacity 2 weeks ago brand new 11 plate cost me £1,100.
Very nippy for a 50cc as many people have already said, Would definitely recommend this bike too all 16 year old's or any learners, I'm 16 now and have only been riding approximately 2 weeks and have already done 300 miles.

Very comfortable and very easy bike too learn on, Haven't had 1 problem too date, Also amazing amounts of space being able too fit a XL full face helmet under the seat and a half face helmet in the 2nd storage compartment at the front of the bike.

Before any one buys this bike I definitely recommend viewing and sitting on the bike before as with all bike's it is not everyone's cup of tea but for the vast majority of people it would be as it is also very cheap insurance even for a 16 year old, Another thing I recommend for people too find out is horsepower as it varies on modifications and models/age of bike's and of course make sure you know the mileage of the bike but most of all make sure you feel like you could really enjoy being the owner of the bike which I definitely am.

Amazing bike overall,Hope I helped and happy riding

“I bought a vivacity 50cc because I thought it would...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 03/03/2011

I bought a vivacity 50cc because I thought it would savce me money. It did on the insurance, just £90 a year fully comp from Express Insurance.
However the bike has spent more time in the garage than out on the road. I have had it for 2 months and in that time ridden it just 5 hours before it breaks down again and needs to be taken back to the garage.
The seat height is rather high too, especially if oyu are 5ft 5" like me lol.
Personally I would say stay clear of these 2 stroke monsters.
Yes they can be fast, over 40mph on the flat but mine always seems to break down.

I brought my Vivacity about one month ago and all signs are good :) Ive had no problems and the performance of the bike is very good. I say this because my bike is just d-restricted and reaches 50mph. also another plus point is miles to the gallon does about 60-80 miles and only cost £4 a full tank.

Overall a very good first time moped and i would adversive anyone to get one

written by on 02/03/2010

The bike at first doesn't seem very good but it actually has a lot of potential. When i derestricted it it ran at about 45-49mph...I know people who had to put sports parts on their bikes to achieve those sorts of speeds...now that I've put a sports exhaust 19 carb and mertakit sports variator it goes about 65-73mph and I'm thinking about putting in a 70cc cylinder. Someone mentioned how it breaks down whenever it rains...this is true..anyone know why?

amazing bike i just passed my C.B.T. and started riding and i would recommend this bike to anyone.
i paid £800 from a dealer and i would pay it all over again because in 6 weeks i have put 500 miles on the clock and could do loads more .
this bike would be good for a new rider as it handles easily and is reliable, mine is still restricted so 35mph top whack but derestricted i know people that have had them up to 70mph so amazing oil round bike.
