Written on: 06/12/2010

I will no longer shop at Iceland because of its sponsorship of such a barbaric show as I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here, a show that illustrates how so called celebrities will do absolutely anything for fame and money, where animals sexual organs,(better on the animal,) are eaten for fun, where insects are obviously either injured or killed as a piece of entertainment. The show is barbaric trash which sadly shows how far we have evolved and belies the myth that we are actually a civilised… Read Full Review

iceland, at first i thought it would be all full of chavs in their mckenxie jackets, not like i have a problem with that but when is stepped in i was on to a winner, the products are great, priced are great and easy to see, and the own brand and big brand variety is excellent for such small stores, my cousin was a regular shopper here, so now my dad and i enjoy it too. things like frozen food, fresh and chilled are all worth the small prices, staf are happy to help and i think they deserve to… Read Full Review

Written on: 14/10/2010

I recently shopped in the Iceland at Levenshulme - which I understand is a recently rebranded cooltrader store. Staff were very helpful and cheerful, most of the products they have on offer are at great low prices. For example chicago town twin pizza packs are just £1 and they have all the different types, unlike the tescos just round the corner where they are £1.50. In addition they stock most of the dalepak products which the other shops appear to have now neglected to stock - Asda used to… Read Full Review

Although I woiuld not recommend buying all of your weekly groceries from Iceland, it is fantastic for subsidising your shopping. There are some amazing deals such as £3 for 8pk of Lucozade or 6pk Lucozade Sport - £1 for 4pts of Milk (the cheapest I can find from any retailer). Frozen vegetables, pizzas, potato products and desserts are particularly good value for money, and a high standard of quality. However, lots of groceries are over priced (tomato puree is £1. It's 24p in… Read Full Review

Iceland's Policy of raising prices on one product by 50% to reduce prices on another to claim they are Cutting prices is tantamount to deception no better than our MP's flipping homes especially when they claim a new improved recipe when all they have done is change the shape of the container, I shall be voting with my money and go back to shopping at ASDA Aldi and Tesco… Read Full Review

Written on: 16/08/2008 by amy88 (1 review written)

I recently bought some frozen veg from iceland along with many other products busy mums like myself use: pizzas, chips and such. Me and my 1 year old son had enjoyed our carrot sweetcorn and pea mixture and we decided to share the last portion half way through our veg i found a leaf threw it to the side and continued eating.I scraped a huge pile of veg onto my fork as i opened my mouth i saw a very strange looking piece of veg at closer inspection I was disgusted to find a dead slug.Well you… Read Full Review

Great value and I will continue to shop there, but only because I can't refuse their bargains. The service is pretty shocking at times and the staff at my local branch never smile, frequently continue to have their own conversations whilst serving the customers and hardly ever even make eye contact… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/08/2007 by jonathan kelly (110 reviews written)

Iceland have started rounding up all their prices to the nearest pound. The problem is most supermarkets offer better value. I bought a tray of 4 pork chops for £3; as I was in a hurry I took anything on offer. Lamb Chops were £6, which seems a bit steep.

The good points about Iceland are the lack of people waiting at the tills. It is a quick in and out type of place. Fridges and Freezers are on sale in some branches, but not the one I used… Read Full Review

Written on: 01/09/2006 by frostylu (1 review written)

I received all round bad service from Iceland. I paid for the removal of an old fridge and when the men came to deliver my fridge they refused to take the old one, as they said 'it didn't show up on their paperwork', they wouldn't even ring the company to sort out the mix up. The fridge I purchased never worked properly either.
Appalling fridges
Very bad service… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/08/2006 by Monts8 (1 review written)

We were badly let down by Iceland's appointed logistics team, who appear to be a fellow group company who were tasked with delivering our new fridge.

The first scheduled delivery date the driver apparently couldn't find our address but never rang for directions or bothered using the details we passed onto Iceland (the worrying thing is, it isn't hard to find!). Instead we received a call at 8.50am on the day of delivery to inform us in no uncertain terms they would not deliver that day… Read Full Review

Iceland is a very good shop. They have good brand names at a reasonable price, and their own brand name is good quality. All well presented, very clean, helpful staff, always someone on the till, items have a good expiry date, unlike KwikSave. I am a very happy customer… Read Full Review

I did not find the food to be particularly cheap at Iceland, and all prices are rounded up not down.

Written on: 10/06/2004 by yvonnecollier (4 reviews written)

I suppose it depends on which Iceland store you happen to buy from. I have 2 local stores, 1 is tiny, dirty, has narrow isles, staff are always talking in the back area or on the shop floor, they never seem interested to help, half full or empty freezers... overall bad service (I only shop here when I HAVE to).
On the other hand... the other store is the complete opposite, it is a good size, has its own car-park, wide aisles, freezers are always well-stocked, clean, tidy, staff cannot do enough… Read Full Review

I think all of the Icelands are the same, whatever the size, what people have to respect is if there is no stock to put out then we can't do much.

Yvonnecollier's Response to yvonnecollier's Review

Written on: 27/10/2004

I'm sorry, but having been employed by Iceland in the past as a Customer Service Supervisor/ Duty Manager, I know only too well how these stores are run. My initial review was totally unbiased, from the view of a customer, and as a customer I find it totally unacceptable for staff NOT to take an interest in the overall image they are giving to customers. When I was Duty Manager I used to be very aware of the fact that "chatting" on the shop floor or in the back areas was not giving the right impression and always found the staff something to do. I do not believe that there is nothing to do if you haven't got the stock to put out, there’s always date checking and /or facing up, not to mention cleaning!
