    After insuring my dog with Pet Plan for 16 years! I was saddened to discover on receipt of my closing claim for insurance that the euthanasia was not covered by my policy.     I cannot understand why, if we've not made a claim with Petplan Pet Insurance the excess and yearly premiums increase! Petplan do make expeditious settlement of claims however, and that gives peace of mind. But, we've not made a claim for over three years and the premiums keep going up.

    Pet insurance is a great idea. I strongly recommend it for all responsible pet owners. I wouldn't however recommend PetPlan due to the fact that they change your policy and reduce the amount of cover if you make a large claim. I have now chosen to purchase a policy with Vet Insurance.     You pay for what you get. Yes, Petplan Pet Insurance is a bit more expensive than others but you have peace of mind knowing that chronic illnesses will be covered year on year. The excess rises each year because as animals age the risk of needing treatment increases.

    I paid into Petplan Pet Insurance for a few years with no claim, however my beloved cat fell ill, and there was a mistake over the diagnosis.     Petplan - Insurance monthly payments - Each year you receive a letter and insurance renewal document.
