My Vet, after completing their part of the claim form, which I received after notifying E & L Pet Insurance in December 2006 of the claim, posted the claim form to E & L immediately after New Year 2007. E & L later claimed that they only received the claim form on 1st February 2007. Their letter dat ...

I lost my Dobermann pup due to him swallowing something, which caused a blockage in his small intestine. The vet was paid by us (£409) mid January, and I have written and phoned E & L Pet Insurance on numerous occasions, only to be told that the claim is being 'assessed'. It is a straightforwa ...

Have now been waiting 6 weeks for a claim for just under £200 to be settled. Every time I telephone the claims department I am left speaking to a machine. No-one ever returns my call. I am seriously starting to wonder whether they have financial difficulties as they seem un-inclined to deal ...

I have only insured my dogs with E & L Pet Insurance since October. There appeared to be a lot of cover for a reasonable premium. I wish I had not made the move to them, as having had to claim for one of my dogs (first ever claim in the 10 years I have had dogs), they are haggling over every date a ...

Very odd company. Had one expensive claim for our Labrador soon after starting the policy (about £800), and although it took ages and lots of enquiries, they did pay out. However, a recent claim for £20 (all that was left after excess removed) made in Sept 06 was agreed for payment in De ...

    FURTHER UPDATE!
I received my cheque this morning! considering my horse only came out of hospital on the 12th of January, and I then had to spend time getting reports and submitting paperwork, that's only about a month they've taken to process the claim. BUT, I have had to argue the policy terms, a ...

You might save a bit on your monthly premiums, but that's nothing compared to what you lose if you make a claim with E and L Pet Insurance. And then finally, I am told this morning it takes 10 working days to issue a cheque!! They make NTL's customer service look like a shining beacon of hope in co ...

I have made 2 claims with them, and they did everything they could to get out of paying. One claim was for my dogs underactive thyroid. They paid out once for one bottle of Siloxine, then they wrote and said they don't cover underactive thyroids on my dogs insurance. The next claim was for the same ...

    UPDATE
OK, so E&L have said they will pay my claim, and the time taken to assess it and make the offer actually hasn't been as bad as I expected. However, read and note your policy carefully. I took out the policy because I thought the maximum benefit they would pay was £4250 (per incident). ...

The cover is really good value for money but the length of time it took them to pay out has meant that I will be going elsewhere - I'd rather pay a bit more and be paid out quickly if I need to claim.
