I have paid intop a policy with E & L for over nine years for my German Shepherd, in all those years we never had a claim he was a very healthy dog. But in December 2007 he suddenly developed a cough which turned out to be chronic enlarged heart and had to be put to sleep. This was stressful enough ...

My dog snapped her cruciate ligament in her back leg in September 2007.

The vet refused to operate without being paid upfront as E&L are renowned for not paying. I had to lay out £3,100 straight away (and more since then for xrays and check ups etc) I am on £12,000 a year and quite s ...

My first experience of claiming on pet insurance. Dog accident in Dec07. Chased payment until April/May paid eventually after intervention from BBC Three Counties Radio. You get what you pay for -Cheap premiums ,inferior service. Am now paying more for a superior service.

Extremely bad company to deal with, put claim through in Feb, paid vets bills totalling £380, they have offered me a settlement figure of £120, shocking and still waiting to be paid. Very bad customer service, staff are unprofessional and are very good at fobbing you off. I cancelled m ...

I have been trying to not only get my settlement cheque for veterinary expenses for three months now, but trying to cancel two policies with E&L Insurance. I made the mistake of letting them take the whole amount out of my bank account once a year. The bank is unable to stop them doing this becaus ...

Reading the other reviews on here, I think we got away quite lightly. We claimed for £400+ in September '07 and got paid two months later. Not too bad you may think, but it took several e-mails and 'phone calls to get any response. In general, the staff didn't seem to know what they were d ...

I have just cancelled my policy with E and L Pet Insurance after only being with them for a few months, from the onset I found it was poor administration.

I had initially arranged monthly instalments but E and L decided to take the whole yearly amount out from my account all £178.00 of it, ...

My pet had an illness which initially seemed just a limp as he was a puppy I assumed that it was nothing serious and covered the vets bill. However the limp remained and it resulted in a very expensive course of treatment. E&L were duly informed and my vet testified that the costs were within the in ...

I took out insurance 8 months ago and had to claim as my dog has kidney problems. Being naive and new to pet insurance I thought that the vet would claim back the fees. WRONG. I had to stump up £1100 and after I couldn't pay any more my vet kindly said I could leave it and he will claim direc ...

I had been with E&L for approx 5 years and never claimed before.

Last July, my dog got infection in his foot. Numerous antibiotics were required and I eventually submitted a claim in August / September. I was still waiting on payment in January!! After numerous phone calls and complaints I even ...
