“Vouncher scheme gets more and more complex”

Written on: 02/03/2014 by RhettFournier (1 review written)

I am getting increasingly annoyed with all the vouchers Tesco throw my way and the restrictions that come with them. Now they are even bombarding me with e-mails with offers and little instruction on how they work. I realise it's all part of the loyalty scheme but to be frank I haven't got the time or the inclination to work out which voucher is valid when. Life is too short Tesco please simplify this process and go back to low prices in the first place. Does anyone else feel the same?… Read Full Review

I don't. I'm very happy to get vouchers of various descriptions. Can't see what the problem is, quite frankly.

“New Points scheme”

Written on: 31/12/2013 by mikejamesdj (1 review written)

Your new club cards points scheme is utter rubbish !!!!!! You used to send out a voucher for a certain amount i.e.: you have earned xxxx points please find a four pound voucher etc etc now all you get is 45p off this item or 1.25 off this item This is a complete load of rubbish and i will be finding myself driving the extra few miles to go to Sainsburys as they at least have a decent voucher scheme … Read Full Review

“Each year i save my clubcard point for Christmas so i...”

Written on: 15/12/2013 by samm9059 (1 review written)

Each year i save my clubcard point for Christmas so i save around, 40 pound, i like to double them up which i do every year, only this year they sent me all 36 pound of vouchers in 4.50 vouchers, therefor i could not double up on anything as he has to be 5 pound to double! I was told i can put to vouchers together to make 9n pound and double the 5 and the 4 pound will go back onto my clubcard within a month! this is not on, i saved for a year to double up and now they want me to put back onto… Read Full Review

if you had 36,00 in club card vouchers i don,t get why you think you can only double the £5 and the
£4 from every voucher had to go back to club card points . i take it you received 8 x £4.50 vouchers with adds up to £36.00 you could of doubled up £35.00 to £70.00 and the £1.00 would of gone back to points, that,s an extra £35 free from tesco.if you are saying the extra points have yet to be credited back to you then ring them and they would look into this for you.

“Very Poor Customer Service”

Written on: 06/12/2013 by jinx123 (1 review written)

I called the customer service team when I was having trouble registering an online account to be able to view my clubcard points. The first man I spoke took my email address and told me within the next 24 hours I should have no difficulty registering....well I was still having difficulties 3 days later...I then called again. The lady told me it was mu server and that it was the cookies that I was 'allowing'. Now I may be 26 but I'm not too clued up on how to stop these. It was the 'hurry up… Read Full Review

“Best loyalty scheme on the market”

Written on: 11/11/2013

I think it's great! I have always spent my vouchers with Tesco rather than mess about with the days out etc. I always double up too, last year spending it on frozen foods, and this time have spend some on cosmetics, some on clothing and some on household stuff, each time getting double the value. I also find that I get extra bonus money-off coupons at the checkout, simply by using my card. My only criticism is that the vouchers don't come in £5 denominations, (mine came as a £21 and a… Read Full Review

“Are tesco reward hotel rooms rarer than hens teeth?”

Written on: 29/09/2013 by Ryan2002 (1 review written)

Tried to book a hotel in London before Xmas, nearest one was Heathrow or Luton? (Handy locations for a city break - not). Well, maybe London is busy at that thine of the year so tried Liverppol in January & February - also no availability???? What's the point in swapping points for £330 of hotel vouchers if I cannot book anywhere? Complete rubbish and bordering on fraud in my opinion - no worth the vouchers they are printed on! Would give no stars for vfm if I could..... … Read Full Review

“That one star is a minus”

Written on: 07/08/2013 by lonestar292 (1 review written)

Why do they let somebody at my previous address, with a different name cash in points that I have gained? When I did update my details they said that would reimburse the points and send me a new card, 2 months ago. Nothing. Latest points that I have gained have also not been sent to me and I know the latest vouchers have been dispatched. Customer Care? CUSTOMER CARE DON'T CARE. No more Tesco for me. “Very Misleading”

Written on: 31/07/2013 by Publovers (1 review written)

Don't expect a warm welcome and best deal when you use your reward vouchers at attractions etc. You may be handing over £100 But in reality this is worth about £25 to the supplier as this is all Tesco will give them. Add the cost of staff to handle the claim and the glossy £100 voucher is worth less than £20 to the supplier. So don't be surprised that you are not as welcome as a cash paying customer … Read Full Review

“Eurotunnel and General”

Written on: 04/07/2013

I've had enough of with Tesco Clubcard reward strategy. It seems as if they are playing every game to make you lose your benefits from the points gained. Eurotunnel don't accept Tesco vouchers for flexiplus. Why not? What's the difference? They know that a £64 1 way ticket will most often be booked with a flexiplus, so in the end the benefits are minimal and crucially, most people will not bother. But more important is the idea that you cannot automatically gain the rewards from your shopping… Read Full Review

Agreed about the vouchers. Every week my wife holds up the queue at the till while she and the cashier sort out which ones can be used. Surely the technology is there for all this to be in Tesco's computer system, which will check when the Clubcard is presented?

But as for Eurostar, why not have your points converted to Avios (formerly Airmiles)? Then you can book your journey through Avios online or on the phone, and pay with your points.

“Double up scheme is rubbish”

Written on: 09/06/2013 by jacko1953 (1 review written)

We spend a few Thousands every year at Tesco on food and petrol. I waited and waited to get a personal DVD player and went to sandhurst store friday eveing to purchase food shopping and enquire about player through double up scheme only to be told that this item was not included in this promotion. This scheme seems to be a bit of a one sided, so the customer spend loads of cash with Tesco and then they shove two fingers up in the air back. Oh well we will now spend our shopping money at Asda… Read Full Review

“Will not bother to "double up" again.”

Written on: 31/05/2013

Finally managed to double up my Clubcard coupons and found I could only use one £10.00 token. When I phoned - three calls to find the right number-was promised a Tesco gift card for £10.00 which still hasn't arrived. Thought I would try again and the item I was after, despite being "in stock" was now out of stock! I decided to order two trees from Thompson & Morgan-again "in stock", but when I got to checkout were then "out of stock"! In future will use my coupons against my grocery order… Read Full Review

trying to redeem a fair number of points that have accumulated, gone are the days of a practically free weeks holiday.,waste of time , late deals and online discounts more than cover the miniscule amount now allowed with the Tesco loyalty points. “ABSOLUTE RIP OFF!!!”

Written on: 08/05/2013 by Hassall42 (1 review written)

Having used my vouchers for the last 4/5 yrs to stay in one of the Britannia Hotels in Blackpool i find that this year Tesco's own rates that they put in themselves are disgusting for a 3 night stay midweek booking.com quote £175.00 the hotel direct or online ask for £195.00 but will match booking.com's price. Tesco's own rate is £225.00. I have £30.00 worth of vouchers x 3 = £90.00. As if its not bad enough you used to get x 4 voucher value plus double points in store (thats now reduced… Read Full Review

“Please join facebook group”

Written on: 28/03/2013 by syhendry (1 review written)

I have created a group on Facebook so we can all joint together to fight this giant who steps on us. I've tried complaining about their 'reward' to no avail. They just think they can do what they want. My expected £60 worth of vouchers (£180 via rewards) turned out to be worth £56 - not even face value. Please search for Tesco Clubcard Rewards (or not) on Facebook and join my group. Maybe we can get enough members to make them think!… Read Full Review

“Ferry Booking Rip Off”

Written on: 15/03/2013

I travel a lot between England and Ireland to visit family and saved up mu vouchers to get 4 times the value towards my ferry booking. However, the ferry companies (Stena and Irish Ferries), have a different pricing scheme for clubcard deals to that which they have for regular online bookings. So whilst honoring the £40 off for every £10 of vouchers exchanged the discount is off a far higher price. In my case the clubcard prices were 30% higher than the regular prices. I took the matter… Read Full Review

“Tesco Clubcard Reward Rip-off”

Written on: 08/03/2013 by Gwarchotgi (1 review written)

You need to be very wary about using Tesco Clubcard reward vouchers. We had £30 of vouchers that we thought would reduce the cost of the Stena ferry on a visit to Ireland. What we didn't realise is that using the vouchers would result in various surcharges being applied. This put the price up by £50 – some "reward" for loyalty!! So we ripped up the vouchers and bought standard tickets ... and saved ourselves £20… Read Full Review
