“This Sharp GX30 is my second Sharp mobile phone, I...”

Written on: 14/06/2004 by shakytumbleweed (8 reviews written)

This Sharp GX30 is my second Sharp mobile phone, I previously had a GX-1 which, although it had it's faults, I was very happy with. On the strength of that and the new megapixel camera I decided to plump for another Sharp and I can tell you, I am very pleased I did.

The GX-30 has everything you could want from a camera phone. Starting with the camera - it has a 7 stage digital zoom with 5 different picture sizes, you can select from macro (close-up) or portrait (standard) modes, there is a… Read Full Review

This Sharp GX30 mobile phone couldn't be better its got the first meaga pixel camera on the market, video record and play back, a huge colour screen, mp3 player, great looks and a flash which can be different colours which flashes when you recieve call and works with the camera so you can take pictures in the dark. The phone can also carry 500 names and numbers and with the new "sd memory card" system one phone can hold hundreds of photos,mp3's and video clips and they can be easily transfered… Read Full Review

Written on: 04/06/2004 by jonny rotten (2 reviews written)

This Sharp GX30 mobile phone has a great 1 megapixel digital camera, but that does not make it a great phone. The camera is the selling point and the best feature. Picture and 256k colour screen quality are excellent. The video capture is average, somewhat jerky, but allows you to take around 45 seconds of footage. Both camera and video uses the battery in no time. Infact the battery doesnt last well at all, ive been getting between 1-2 days on average. Its the other features that let the phone… Read Full Review

Written on: 22/05/2004 by Rustyk1 (1 review written)

The Sharp GX30 is, without doubt, the best mobile phone that money can buy at this point in time. i cannot beleive there could be anyone who could not work this phone unless they were stupid. You will not find a phone that is better all round than this. i no longer have to carry my digital camera around with me to parties and such (which is always a hassle) as the pictures from this phone can be printed out as they are photo quality. also, the camera has many advanced options such as shutter… Read Full Review

I'm no gadget expert, so I need something easy to use, so when I first started browsing through the Sharp GX30 things weren't easy to find. But, don't let that put you off, once you've scanned the manual once, navigation could not be easier. In fact, it becomes one of the fastest camera mobile phones on the market.

Phonebook is easy enough, and very easy to read, but the camera is incredible (1 Megapixel). You can switch on the camera and take a fast shutter speed image in a couple of… Read Full Review

hello, can you tell me where did you get your stereo headset to listen to the MP3? Also, about the transferring files (ringtones, pics, etc) do you recommend a USB cable or MMS/SD card reader?

The Sharp GX30 is an excellent phone, love the screen (262k colours) and the camera, a 1 megapixel camera. only a couple of disadvantages, the bluetooth can only be used for head and car kits and NOT data transfer!!! the flip isnt active so u have to press the green button to answer the fone, nevertheless, a great phone, a credit to vodafone live! and sharp… Read Full Review

When I first got my Sharp GX30 I was in awe at the screen. I thought the v200 was good, but the screen on this is amazing! 260,000 colours - that's more then any other phone right now! The camera is just as good, 1 Megapixel - almost as clear as a cheap digital camera for your computer! The front colour screen can be used as a view finder for self-portaits! Those of you who have owned the E700, you'll find the outer screen much better with 65,000 colour screen! It has 40-note polyphonics making… Read Full Review

I have had the Sharp GX30 mobile phone for just over a month after replacing my GX10 with it on an upgrade contract and WOW!
I was expecting a good phone but this is top notch.

Where to start? Well the sound is fab, whether for ringtones, games or MP3, clear and crisp. The screen is clearer and brighter than that of my old GX10 and a little bit bigger too.

I was never a big user of my camera before, but the camera here is very good, clear pictures, and the memory… Read Full Review

Written on: 06/04/2004 by phillip montana (1 review written)

I have used the Sharp GX30 mobile phone for over ten weeks now and must sincerely say it is the worst phone i have ever used. the lay out on it is very complexe and i dont think anyone but a brain surgeon could work it out. It has crashed 6 times in the first 2 weeks and when i could get it repaired it came back with exactly the same problems. I would deffinetly not get another Sharp GX phone . Sharp should spend a bit more money on actually building a good quality phone instead of spending it… Read Full Review

This Sharp GX30 is the best Sharp mobile phone yet, I have used this phone for four weeks now, it is a little bigger than the GX10 & GX20 however this is a superb phone, the camera is very good you can download photo's off your computer, you can have fun by taking photo's of people edit them on your PC then put them back on your phone. The sound quality is the best I have known on a phone to date. The GX30 has totally been revamped, the charger fitting is smaller to the GX10-20 however it is a… Read Full Review

True this phone has bluetooth, but they have restricted it to only hands free kits and in-car kits, so makes it completely useless feature, can't even send a file from 1 phone to another...WHY?!?!?!

To answer questions on MP3's the phone has an SD card slot on it where you can put in any size card you like (can afford!) I have a 256Mb card in it and can store around 80 tracks on it. You do need a way of reading the SD card on your computer though, and you just copy your MP3 into the Sounds folder on the card.

Hi, do you know where can I get a stereo headset for the GX30 so that I can listen to MP3? Or will any headset with 2.5mm jack work well with it, e.g. those from Nokia and Motorola?
