Like many people we have been seduced by the advertising by 3. With their hugely discounted handsets and huge voice bundle allowances, even on their pay as you go tariffs I'd thought I'd give it a go and purchased a NEC 616v 3G handset.
When I opened up the box I found the handset to be over twic ...

The NEC e616 is the worst phone I have ever had. The battery dies within a 10 minute call, half a day if you use the larger one. The reception is dreadful. I cannot make or receive a call or text unless I have 2 bars AND a 3G signal at the same time. This is added to by a network that is wholly unhe ...

What can I say about the NEC e616 apart from it's great you can do everything with this phone. The 2 batteries are ok, the slim one last for a day and a half the large one last for 4 days not bad. You get software and a USB cable it also takes Nokia mid files, you can upgrade the memory, calls are ...

Although I am not a mobile guru and my last phone was 3220 (remember those? :-) I decided to go for the latest as the technology is moving very fast. The NEC e616 is stylish and the main problem I have is that the user interface is very complicated to use even for simple things and it's hard to text ...

I would like to know which countries 3 network can be used (went to Spain only to find I could not use this there). Also, battery life and heat problem is a very big issue here and reception coverage in certain areas. Overall, I still find the NEC e616 an excellent phone for what I require. The m ...

The NEC e616 phone needs some refining and could do with more technical info to help the advanced phone users. The battery doesn't last, I have to charge mine every night.
The Texting is frustrating in that when it fails, you have to write the whole text again and you can't send the text to mo ...

A lot of people are giving this phone a very bad review, and I do not know why, yes it is not the best phone out their but it is not the worst. I have owned some very good phones Sharp gx 10, 10i, and gx20 etc, I got this phone because I wanted to try the 3g network. Lets start off with its good poi ...

I have found the NEC e616 phone the worst phone I have ever had! Been mobile for 12 years and as far as technologhy goes this is the worst. Dont be fooled by its looks and (acclaimed) capability. The PC Sync. does not work, the CD supplied is not the easiest of programmes to add to your PC. The p ...

The NEC e616 is a smart looking one, features are superb, I love the camera for instance, the video recording is poor as you can only record 11 seconds. The other reviews about dropped calls depend entirely on where you live, I suppose I am in Swansea and I haven't had one dropped call. All in all ...

The camera on the NEC e616 is like a mosaic wall picture, the battery lasts about a day EVEN IF YOU DONT USE IT!, It's about the same size as a house brick, it does have plenty of features though, reception is AWFUL, and people will LAUGH at you if they see you on the bus with this in your hand. It ...
