Having been fobbed off by my Relationship manager (NatWest Speak for Business manager) I was told to set up my own DDebits, Standing orders etc...
When I tried I discovered a Transfer meant a one off payment, Payment meant authorisation with a card and inserting me as a payee meant I couldn't make another payment until I had cancelled my own name off the list!
Customer services didn't accept my valid ID and I now have to reapply in writing to get another all the while being kicked off the... (read more)

Have been a member of Nat west bank for many years and in general have not had a problem. However, started internet banking with Nat-west on line log in and have had nothing but trouble. This has included activation code being omitted from the activation code letter and today after I received another activation code tried to log in and failed again. Called the help number was told I had "Obviously not" entered the code correctly. I asked my daughter and wife to check what had been entered... (read more)

I have found the internet banking a real god send. No more dealing with people on the phone or the less than helpful staff in the branch. All the information i need is on the web page. I can check my balance whenever i want to. I can set up standing orders and cancel items when i want to.
Brilliant. (read more)

the helpline is far from it,taking 10minutes to be answered, obstructed by minions and computer error especially around their "secure system!".They consistently prevent the free transfer of funds ,limiting the daily amount to £10000 despite hanging on to fignificant funds. They even block paypal!!!

The NatWest banking web site is the most appalling web site I have ever had the misfortune to experience. Makes buying any thing on line a bad experience. Logging on to the site to check the balance can take an age. Having to reset several passwords each time. Unless of course you write them down, which is a very bad idea. If you you have the patience to finally log into the site, by the time you find the option you need it will have timed you out. Meaning you gave to go through the whole... (read more)

i have been with Natwest for 15 years and they were fine but seem to have been caught up in the IT revolution. Instead of using IT to simplify their banking, it seems that they have got carried away and it is constantly changing. I can't phone up because apparently there is a new phone log in number, I have randomly been frozen out of my online banking so they can check my details.
I have other bank accounts and don't seem to have any problems, but Natwest seems to be a constant battle! (read more)

I opened an account about 7 months ago and I really enjoy using the Natwest site compared to some of the other sites I have used previously, although the card reader can be an inconvenience to carry around due to size. Looking at it though Barclays also have a similar reader (my wife has an account with them), but overall the RBS site is easy to use. While searching the internet, I came across a website http://boutique.gemalto.com/e-banking/uk/ from where I bought a portable version of the... (read more)

Used this and other bank's Internet banking and this wins hands down. I like the fact all the account entries for all your accounts can be seen on the same page. Yes the card reader is an inconvenience but if it keeps my money safe and works that is fine by me - you do hear some horror stories of online fraud! It is 6pm the banks are shut and I just transferred money to my sister's account at Barclays. I can enjoy my lunch hour in the pub tommorow instead of the bank queu! (read more)
