All in all, it has been very expensive and frustrating for me to move to Barclays. I cannot see how it has become such a large and world famous institution, I suppose they trade on the Barclaycard name now. I never asked to be a Barclays customer, and this is shameful. Bring Back the Woolwich!

I am closing my account first thing on Monday. I rang telephone support staff three times, and the experience has been identical. I have not been so insulted in a very long time. Staff are not professional in the slightest. I cannot trust Barclays to manage my accounts. After 19 years, it's bye bye. ...

From personal experience Barclays bank is the most terribly run organisation I have ever come across. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I would like to know how the staff get the job in the first place and then, who trains them because none of them seem to know what they are doing!

I've been with Barclays for about 50 years and overall am satisfied although have been tempted to switch when things have gone wrong. When the service is good, it is very good, and (fortunately) a personal visit to a more convenient branch usually gets results.

Unless you put in a lot of money every month, forget about getting good services from this bank. This is purely for people who earn a lot of money. If you are a student, they treat you miserably.
