I recently bought a Goose down super king size duvet and 4 pillows from the John Lewis store in Cheadle, Cheshire. I love this store, and I have always received excellent service with a smile. the staff are extremely polite and helpful, and they could teach other department store staff a thing or two about excellent customer care.
The items I purchased were of exceptional quality, and although the prices at John Lewis do tend to be on the high side, you really do get what you pay for.

John Lewis is a good shop, but if you are shopping online, check the specifications carefully. Do not expect their call centre to deviate from their script… Read Full Review

I ordered an oven and hob online, and within 20 minutes they rang with a delivery time and date. Delivery arrived exactly on time. Trouble free shopping. Excellent!
I would thoroughly recommend John Lewis. Very professional, value for money, hassle free shopping… Read Full Review

We just bought a washing machine at John Lewis there in Brent Cross (19/08/06 15:00). Whilst there we were just looking at a machine for 2 mins. (Normally I hate it when just browsing and someone asks you if want help but obviously no one just browses washing machines). Anyway, a senior looking member of staff came over to us and asked if we were ok. We said we were looking for a basic washing machine, straight away he called another member of staff over and asked him to help us. That's… Read Full Review

Overall I would certainly recommend John Lewis.
This is the only retailer so far from which I have received a satisfactory service, and I've ordered a lot of items requiring delivery over the years… Read Full Review

We bought loads of things for our new house at John Lewis, and the service was brilliant. We had the curtains made, and they were really informative on how the size of the curtains, and they went through all the materials and size of curtains. We had them made, and in about 7 days they were ready for collection or could be delivered.
We also ordered a large LCD TV from them. They delivered earlier than the date they said, which was a bonus.
On top of that, they have a price match policy… Read Full Review

I have used John Lewis loads of times both via their shop in MK and online. I've found them good value, really polite and never had any problems. I also believe that their electrical goods also have an automatic two year guarantee which saves you taking out an extended warrenty. But you need to check they still do this. They are really good at taking things back and refunding… Read Full Review

Bought from John Lewis on a few occasions and have been impressed with their web site and will send out e-mails when items are back in stock. My partner phoned for an item out of stock on the website to be told it was in stock in another city store! However they did arrange for it to be posted to our address from that store so 10/10 for effort as good PR… Read Full Review

I purchased a washing machine online, having found that John Lewis matched Currys and Comet prices. Someone rang me within 40 minutes(!) to arrange delivery in less than a week. I asked for the delivery driver to ring me on the day to let me know an approximate time… Read Full Review

Our nearest branch of John Lewis is in Welwyn Garden City, and I was initially bewildered to discover that life seems to revolve around that store. Until recently the town centre has been totally dead each Monday. Puzzled, I did a large survey of customers in WGC town centre, and found that the most common reason for this quietness was John Lewis being shut on Mondays. Sure enough, since ithe store has changed its opening days, Welwyn Garden's shopping habits have varied accordingly.
This may… Read Full Review

As a regular at the John Lewis Oxford Street store over the last 5 years, I have never been dissapointed by by the choices on offer, excellent advice and the price - very competitive. So much so that when I bought a Victorian property recently, I used their free interior design team to help refurbish the property - absolutely fabulous team, ideas and effort at every visit and all for free!! Can not recommend this store enough… Read Full Review

A decent department store is hard to find, but I'm pleased to report that my local John Lewis store at Handforth Dean in Cheadle is a superb shop that satisfies all of my shopping requirements. Architecturally it's a beautiful store and really is a great stop for my all in one shopping needs. I'm not the kind of guy who has all afternoon to troop round different shops looking for different products at every turn. I like to get everything done under one roof and John Lewis produces the goods… Read Full Review

If you can't think where to buy something it is always worth trying John Lewis. Almost everything you want can be found there; from a needle and thread to a state of the art PC and furniture not forgetting fashions, divine make up concessions and ornaments. But they really come into their own in the area of white goods.
I would now never contemplate buying a fridge, washing machine or dishwasher anywhere else. Two years ago I refitted my kitchen and treated myself to a new fridge-freezer… Read Full Review

What can I say, John Lewis are cheap, great service, high quality, and no-frills shopping. We try and spend as much money here as possible. Unless other shops have at least 20% off the John Lewis price, I wouldn't bother going elsewhere… Read Full Review

Just received a single mattress (£259) from John Lewis direct (www.johnlewis.com). I'm pleased with the item, but rather disappointed that the bed is £10 cheaper in the local Bluewater branch.
I spoke with John Lewis direct and was told that the local store may be 'price matching', and they don't price match online or via the phone service. (Interestingly, only John Lewis sell this John Lewis branded mattress as far as I know).
I emphasised that the £10 is not that important, but the fact… Read Full Review
