Purchased a pair of Purple trainers online they arrived and were Pink it took 3 emails and 2 phone calls to get a RMA number for a return as they were not the right colour as described online. Total outlay £25 on phone calls left hanging on for 45+ minutes. Courier did notturn up as booked lost a days pay.
All in all £25 to cover cost of phone calls and a pathetic afterthought Sorry. I would not recommend buying online this Christmas from this company service is awful… Read Full Review

I am reviewing the online service. The product i ordered turned up in an empty box! on calling the customer service department they implied that I was being dishonest about the situation. so not only did i not have the product i ordered i was also very insulted!! after a lengthy and unpleasant conversation I managed to get my money back. I bought 60 quid worth of Bobbi Brown makeup and brushes on the John Lewis website, with free delivery. The delivery took forever, after about 8 days of no show I phoned up John Lewis and was told that a substitute order had been created free of charge and this arrived the next day. The original order did turn up a few days later. I have had an appalling service with the John Lewis home design service at Blue Water. I ordered curtains on the 7 day service and had them measured by John Lewis staff, of which the woman decided to put on the order on the bespoke service which is about 6 weeks service but did not let us know, on chasing them over and over customer service finally got back and informed me they were on a bespoke service and apologized for the woman not letting me know. Have always liked John Lewis and found them to have polite, customer-oriented staff - not always perfect, but a definite cut above the staff in other shops who make it quite clear that the customer is an interruption to their own social lives.
Their merchandise is usually of very good quality, and I have never had a problem if I've wanted to return anything.

I phoned the High Wycombe shop to see if they had a product in stock. According to the person on the phone, they did not. I popped in anyway and found that they had 3 in stock. Clearly the person on the phone could not be bothered to check. I contacted John Lewis customer services and instead of an apology I got an extremely arrogant reply. A few months ago I bought a laptop from john lewis. I got home and realised that i did not like the laptop so brought it back into store the following day and I got a full refund even though i had opened the laptop and set it up. Very impressed.
I then carefully considered what laptop I should buy and bought from John Lewis, the person who served me was extremely helpful.

We bought an expensive double bed from John
Lewis in Oxford Street, and the service was atrocious! first they got our details wrong for delivery...then the bed broke and the Aftersales care was absolutely appalling, the Mr Woodwood phoned me and said "your warranty had run out"...We'd only had the bed 3 months! they screwed up delivery
phoned to cancel order as needed the item
was told it was cancelled so bought item from another store
then they tried to deliver the item
i phoned and said i had cancelled
they said no
i gave them name of operator who cancelled
3 phone calls later and i conclude
canceling an order is impossible
right hand has no idea what left is doing
they never call back when they say they will

We were to receive an expensive wedding present from my uncle. John Lewis never ever delivered it. They kept putting the phone down on me and basically conned my uncle out of £300 worth of a food processor. Ordered a mattress from John Lewis online which shows that it will be delivered within 7 working days. After a few days JL phoned me and confirmed the delivery date. The day before delivery they sent me a text message and confirmed again. We used John Lewis for our gift list which included a £1,400 sofa and chair which was supposed to be delivered saturday. The wrong sofa was delivered and there was no sign of the armchair and two items were missing. It was supposed to be so magical receiving our gifts and it was all ruined. Bought a Sony Bravia internet ready tv. Found out that it will only accept the Sony wifi dongle at around £70.00, John Lewis did not make it clear that you could only use the expensive Sony Dongle. Also 5 year guarantee and no paperwork to back it up. Tried phoning twice and was told copy receipt on its way, no paper work req. Ordered a bed and mattress. The mattress arrived separately on time and fine. The bed however didn't show up. I waited in a whole day. Phoned up the delivery people who said they triued to deliver. how to spend £1200, wait for a delivery, see it and get told they can not deliver because you live on the 3rd floor???
