“Bought Chappie after reading the many rave reviews on...”

Written on: 12/11/2009

Bought Chappie after reading the many rave reviews on here. My three greyhounds have sensitive stomachs so I thought thought this would be the answer to their problems. However, it has turned out to be the WORST food they have ever tried. Immediately after eating it they had constant flatulence and their motions were loose and very smelly. Stuck with it for a few days, but had to take them off the food due to it upsetting their delicate tums. I mixed it in over a few days to a week, so that did… Read Full Review

Hi, can any one advise me, i have a 8 month wire fox terrier and since a pup he has been fed on Hills Science puppy food and have found that his poo is some times a bit slimy, i have thought about changing his diet but the vet advise to wait till he is a year old as Hills is the best on the market, having been on reviews for various other dog foods this chappie seems to be worth giving a go but should i try the tins or go on to adult complete ?. Hope someone can advise me... Donna… Read Full Review

Hi Donna

I have 2 Wires and they were both on several types of sometimes expensive foods but the only one that works for them is Chappie dried complete food. No more slimy smelly poos!

My dog is a minature black poodle, 8 1/2 years old, and for several years he suffered with tummy problems and was losing a lot of weight, we put him on Chappie Original Dog Food and we have not looked back. He has gained weight, and sometimes is a bit porky but very few tummy problems. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if your dog is a bit poorly. We weill never change brands.

I would like to have known before purchase how good Chappie was, but also that you could not always get… Read Full Review

Two years ago I bought my Leo pup Bobby, at that time he was on Iams. He got very ill and we nearly lost him. After much trial and error we put him on Chappie. He never looked back. Today he is his proper weight and very fit and active. All our 3 dogs are now on Chappie and thrive on it. We wouldn's use anything else now… Read Full Review

Written on: 15/08/2009

My 6yr old west highland terrier has had skin problems for years and after recently changing to a new vet who recommended chappie, we haven't looked back. Her skin problem cleared up within a couple of weeks and her itching and scratching stopped completely. She is a happy westie and is wagging her tail again. I have always fed her on dry food in the past and dreaded giving her wet food as I thought clearing up after her would be rough, but I was wrong. The smell of chappie isn't very nice but… Read Full Review

Written on: 28/05/2009 by Findlaydog08 (1 review written)

My boxers use to get upset tums quite often. I used chappie for a week and I have never used anything else since and that was 20 years ago. I have always feed my boxers on it and they are in tiptop condition. It has become so sloppy lately that I have to stand over the dogs and scrap the bowls for them or I have had to hand feed them as they get so fed up with it.
COME ON CHAPPIE GET IT SORTED OUT… Read Full Review

Hi, I have come to this site while searching for the website for 'Chappie' due to the change in the consistency of the meat over the past months. I cannot find a contact direct. When I came across this forum and noticed that other people have complained about the same issue. On the tin the trade distributer is 'Waltham' but that's all I have right now. If anyone has more information that would be great?
I think Chappie has been a major part of my dogs health over the years and I am worried… Read Full Review

I've use Chappie for 4 years and been very pleased with it. However in the past few months, the consistency has become horrible and sticky, and our dog, a golden retriever, has difficulty getting his mouth to open while he's eating. By the time he's finished, the dog food is halfway up the wall!… Read Full Review

I have found the same thing. I have used Chappie for 15 years on my 2 dogs and the past 2 months, it just sticks in one lump and you cannot cut through it. I have tried to find the manufacturers on the net to pose the question why it has changed, but cannot find a webpage. Can anyone help?

Chappie Original Dog Food - Having had show dog for many years I have tried numerous brands in time for various problems. Used to feed Wellbeloved but the latest show dog was always very skinny and after 2 years she still looked like a nine month old puppy. Mentioned it at a dog show to one of my fellow competitors and he told me about Chappie complete. He had a bitch with the same problem and said after 4 months on Chappie complete he had to put her on a diet as she was getting too fat! Tried… Read Full Review
