“never again,overpriced rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by phillt339 on 03/06/2016

booked a prestige caravan should have booked in at 2 but caravan was still not ready at 3.40 they said ,then another member of staff told us another story so they moved us to another caravan which was dirty and nowhere near where we asked ,so they decided to move us to yet another van which was also dirty and to be honest a bit rubbish ,my daughter has a bruise on her arm after catching it on a door latch which was hanging off ,the beds were rock hard ,everything is overpriced and the security is a joke all they seem to do is scowl at the children,

“Campervan 2night stay”

★★★★☆

written by J.Stobbsie on 16/04/2016

Stayed here from 13th and 14th April Tourer section nice and clean with all amenities available only down side is it is a large park and laundry facilities A bit far away very hilly as on the cliff side lovely views and good beach again a bit of a climb All I all a good park staff were good and helpful eating out plenty of choice although when mash and barrel was busy poor staff were thin on the ground with guy taking food orders having to deal with bar and needed to go to stack room for refilling fridge entertainment pretty good with noisy gaming machines for the kids not the greatest for a quiet meal

“Quality of caravan”

★★☆☆☆

written by Devonbeauty on 21/09/2015

Devon cliffs lovely site tidy and well maintained. Booked our holiday early and had discount from approx£500 to £300 for a week in superior caravan. Was so disappointed with the quality of caravan dirty seats lack of utensils broken cooker hood drab brown curtains and television so old it had to be replaced but with an extremely small screen. Overall accommodation spoilt what would have been a good holiday will not return.

“Expensive but fun!”

★★★★☆

written by Aryanav80 on 12/08/2015

Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday but as other comments drinks and food extremely expensive. Lots for kids to do, close to beach but hilly due to being in cliffs. Seagulls were a nuisance tho. Entertainment was good but unless u queue at silly o'clock to get in you would never get seated even though they have two large entertainment venues - this and the price of drinks/food is my only gripe, overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. South Beach cafe is a must but please take out a bank loan first!! Freshly cooked food though and very nice but very very pricey. One other thing, haven must be making loads a dosh so why is there no free wi if??

“rip off bar prices”

★★★☆☆

written by Ljg67 on 05/08/2014

Been going to devon cliffs 20+ years on and off it is a very good site with fantastic views, bugsys and capones was always a source of great entertainment and bar prices just about affordable. The last 8 years the entertainment as got worse year after year this visit by far the worst ever, how can anybody justify charging £4.60 for a bottle of magners ???? No wonder its so easy to find a seat in these venues now

I stayed in one of the standard caravans, what a waste of money we left a day early,as soon as we arrived we tryed to get a different caravan and were told not possible,we didnt have a table didnt get it till late the next day so basically had to eat meals standing up,bought dvds for tv as had dvd player only to be told, not available in standard caravan and made me feel like a second class citizen, had problems with tv reported it nobody came round, not a caring service at all we wont ever return.

“Lower prices”

★★★☆☆

written by Lea27 on 16/07/2014

I have recently returned from Devon cliffs, I would say overall I really enjoyed it, but there are a few things that could be improved like the prices of things I think is out landish drinks food etc, I have been coming for over 20years as a kid and now as a parent and every year things are more expensive but the entertainment isn't that good for what we pay for everything else I noticed the funstars do most of the entertainment now and not many live acts. Also I think you should invest in installing some toilets in capones as when you need to go or have to change your child the nearest ones are in the arcades which is a fair walk if your at the bottom of capones. I think the amount of money you have to pay for accommodation and for food etc there should be better facilities and better shows. Overall it was a good holiday but would of been better if some of the things I have spoke about were better

“my stay at devon cliffs”

★★★★☆

written by McCarthy389 on 30/06/2014

i have just recently returned from devon cliffs it is a lovely holiday park but, very expensive not for the familys on small incomes in fact the prices are disgusting,8ounce steak at the beach bar 21.00 1pint bottle of fruit cider 4.60 in the spar shop 2.60,you have to pay for all the rides golf etc we had a beef burger if we wanted it with cheese that was an extra 50p. i had a diabetic and a 3yr old grandson with who needs a heart transplant we had no shelfs in the cooker so we couldnt cook anything when we arrived after travelling 214 miles it took them over 3 hours to get us a tray the night member of staff said he would try to get us 2 complementary pizza we waited again we were told he had gone home. the next day we complained to the manager who didnt wont to no and showed no empathy towards the diabetic or the boy with a heart condition,i complained again the next day to a lady named chelli she said she would get back to me she didnt so i went again they told me she would telephone me at home im still waiting, all they are interested in is how much money they can make out of yOur if you wont a excellent holiday park go to watergate holiday park in weymouth brilliant dont go to devon cliffs sb stoke on trent.

Whole family had a great holiday. Staff very friendly and helpful. Night time entertainment was good, loads of stuff for kids to do in the day. Accomadation was fine. Only downside I would say was drinks quite expensive of an evening.

“Time to Have Your Picture taken with The Seaside Squad!”

★★★☆☆

written by simon72 on 31/05/2014

A phrase that finished off every dance routine and act The nuisating Seaside Squad performed. The kids did enjoy the entertainment when they were actually being entertained but there really was not anything for adults at all during the mimed dance routines and acts.I understand that this is kids entertainment but we have been to sites were the entertainment is compared from start to finish with the adults included and able to relax. As soon as they had yet another picture taken they were bored while they waited the next 30 minutes for the next frankly deafening routine We found the drinks are very expensive and the service woefully slow.Top doller paid for flat coke with no ice and lemon.£7:35 for a pint of Stella and a Bud.Seaside You could however puchase a plastic novelty kids drink cup for £4:99. These expenses add up when you are drinking to blot out The Seadide Squad! To be fair to the entertainers they tried to put on a good show dressed up in pretty grotesque outfits danceing around and miming to a backing track. The site is clean and pleasant and the staff friendly and cheerful. We did find the main areas overwhelminly busy.We did not really enjoy the sheer amount of people everywhere. We had never booked a site that is labelled as large and lively so that was our fault really. Our luxury holiday accomadation (caravan) was clean and had a nice view.It was a 2014 model so this is really to be expected for £800.We had expected a toaster as well but reception kindly informed us we were not entitled to one! They did manage to arrange to have a sucsession of can openers delivered none of which worked.I think they thought we would give up and buy one from the Spar! The reception staff were on the whole freindly and polite though The overall impression we had from the Devon Cliffs experince was that Haven were out to rinse as much cash as possible out of you for as little outlay as they could get away with.I have never been on a site were the pool is only open from 9:45 till 12:45 then 14:00 till 17:45.Really?Is it eating into the vast profits so much to employ some more life guards and open the pool for longer. If i was cynical i would say it might be because the pool is free and therefore you are not spending money while you are in there! To get anywhre in the complex you are funnlled through a massive arcade which can be a bit of a nightmare with a 6 and 7 year old constantly wanting to play the games The Sports Bar did not have Sky.I know Sky is expensive and if you can get away with eurosport why not? The Punters are only there to fleeced! No need to lavish Sky on them! I think Devon Cliffs is great for some people there would not be 2000 caravans there (and endless hard sell for you to buy one)if it was'nt. It just was not for us in afraid

“on edge of cliff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by NannyPauline on 15/08/2013

Went to visit family who are owners hated it. It was what it says on a cliff. Nowhere near the van for the children to play out safely. We went to see children at a disco night - rubbish - no one helping just left the children on dance floor to make their own entertainment, however soon found helpers when it was time for the 'photo session'. Then we tried to book for a meal in the owners 'club' told we had to wait 1 1/2 hours so went to seafood diner by the edge of the cliff. Waited 1 hour for meal then 1 hour for them to clear the table, so left without pudding. Never ever again would we like to go anywhere near the place!! Totally overpriced looks like a concentration camp only suitable if you want to rock climb just to see the sights. Hated every minute of it.

“Not great”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 01/08/2013

we paid extra for a deluxe however I wouldn't recommend paying that extra!!!! caravan was standard as there was nothing deluxe about it. caravans are small would not recommend if you have a baby as we had to dismantle beds just to fit the carry cot in. Facilities are busy and hardly no parking. not an enjoyable holiday.

written by john.legend on 27/08/2012

went for bank holiday weekend my wife and i , the caravan was tidy but bedroom 2 had a funny smell we could not locate the cause, we could not check in until 4 and had to leave at 10 monday morning which for the length of time there was not good value. we had a meal on site in the new restaurant located overlooking the sea ,there was a 50 minute wait on food and that was for what was left out of this and that -but bread really, not a great 60 pound meal as others have said like a sauna in the entertainment rooms needs air con the camp site is very tidy in a lovely location but you feel the whole place from the value of stay to the cost of drinks is like a giant monster draining you of your money overall not as good as when i was alad

“FAR TOO SMALL”

★★★☆☆

written by MRBORED on 03/08/2012

Devon cliffs needs to expand the facilities or reduce the number of guests, if you want to enjoy the evening entertainment you must be seated by 4.30pm if you want any chance of a seat, The mash and barrel restaurant is so crowded at meal times you have to wait ages and the outside tables are under constant attack from the biggest seagulls ive ever seen. The amusement arcade/bar area is like wembley stadium on cup final day every night of the week and has the same temperature as a well heated sauna due to no air conditioning on site. The site is fine for 7-16 year olds but for younger kids and parents its the same old thing day after day.

“Awful Customer Service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by MrsTraceySmith on 10/05/2012

We made our booking online (booking ref 5861073 Mrs T Smith) and we were under the impression that the linen was included. We arrived at the caravan and saw a blue bag on the caravan doorstep (other door to where we entered) I didnt look inside and thought no more of it and checked the bedrooms to see if the linen had been provided and it hadnt. So we went down to the hire shop, they said it was not included in our booking and we need to pay £10, so we did. I asked to take the linen with me as we have a 14mth old baby and it was around 8pm (he usually in bed by 7:30pm) and was so it was getting late, the lady insisted that they bring it to me and they were bringing it over immediately. I waited until 9:10pm and called the office to see what was happening with our linen, she apologised and said it will be brought over immediately, it arrived around 9:30pm. I mentioned to the guy that brought our linen to us (David Hindle) that we had paid £10 for the linen and he said laughing 'you paid £10 for this'? I said I thought it was included in the booking and he said it should be and that if you pay £10 for the linen the beds should be made up ready for your arrival (I know this is shown on the website as an extra £10 as we declined this option when we made the booking). He then looked down at the blue bag on the door step and said there is linen in there (so we had linen the whole time but did not know this was the sites protocol - to leave it on the door step). He said he would mention all that has happened to customer services and for me to go and see them in the morning. Quite frankly we just wanted to enjoy our weekend away but I did not want to pay £10 for nothing so the following morning we spoke to customer services and they refused my story point blank, I asked to speak with a senior colleague, and had the same response from her, she wanted to fill in a form but honestly for the sake of £10??? I then asked to speak with a more senior member and at first she came across a little more understanding and wrote everything down and said she would need to speak David Hindle and her manager and that she would call me later that day, well I am still waiting for that phone call!!! I am just furious that haven.com / haven-holidays.co.uk made me feel like I was lying. I am not poor by any means we own a very successful online retail site but why should Haven get away with treating customers like this? I now feel like Haven owe me more than £10 for the hassle and upset they put on myself and husband on what we thought would be a relaxing weekend away.

“very good stay nice place”

★★★★☆

written by on 27/03/2012

Hi we went in june 2011 we booked through newmans holiday homes caravan was lovely couldn't of asked for better place to stay in. We are going in june again this year through newmans in a different caravan like to b closer to main attractions. After reading some reviews on internet about the park we were a little worried but i can honestly say we had nothing to worry about no complaints it wasn't that busy so park had no reason to be untidy. The food was nice we ate out alot my kids really loved the place. The indoor swimming pool was cold due to a problem they had we were informed before we went to get changed. We went out of park on 2days of the stay to a theme park and zoo kids cant wait to go again this year. Ive been to a few parks the worsed ive been to is butlins minehead me and my partner woke up with beetles in our hair we didnt stay we left straight away my point is haven is like a top hotel compared to some other parks having good accomendation helps you enjoy the place more so much for kids to do you want them to enjoy it not worrying that at end of day uve got to come back to a horrible dirty caravan.
