“Design fault”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Logan27 on 28/11/2016

Worst pans ever for keeping appearance certainly not worthy of a ten year guarantee after regular use the outside adonized coating appears scratched and certainly not worthy of the Jamie Oliver name on the pans these pans are expensive and certainly not good design .sending my pans to trading standards for an impartial report as tefal seem to think they fine . So wrong.

“Saucepans from hell”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Batcheloraq356 on 17/05/2016

I bought a set of Jamie Oliver Saucepans - T-Fal - stainless steel induction A1110-5068 at the Hudson Bay in Vancouver. They are the wost I have ever had, and are impossisble to clean. Everything sticks, and nothing will clean them. I thought Tefal meant non stick, I was obviously mistaken. I would like to return them to the Bay

“Expensive and useless”

written by teresa2020 on 04/08/2015

Had Jamie Oliver's teal frying pan for 3 months. I decided to buy this one as I thought it was a good name and make. How wrong could I have been!! it was good to start with then the coating started to peel off. I would advise not to buy as you will be wasting your money.

First : impossible to put this cookware in the dishwasher => it rust for sure. Second : all the handles become too hot... in 2014, inacceptable !!! Third : impossible to sear the meat... it sticks, tear and fraying

“Nothing but overpriced junk”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Harmonyx334 on 06/04/2014

Just another over hyped, celebrity endorsed scam. These pans are no better than your average non-stick from any retail outlet. For a family of four, expect 3-6 months before the pans are just another frypan. Will say the handles are good, but like most things nowdays, avoid like the plague.

“Fantastic cook ware”

★★★★★

written by on 29/03/2014

I have stumbled onto this site & am somewhat surprised at the reviews, I am an ex chef and love my Jamie Oliver cook ware. The handles for a start permit you to hold the pans at the correct level when sauté . The pans , and pots are a good weight, conduct heat well and look smart. Of coarse the food grim, dirt, fats & oils and heat with help to darken the new look of the kitchen pots & pans but hey it is not silver ware being polished for the front of house every day by your servants I have had my cookware for 12 months & my fry pan for 3 years & have not had a problem. . “Jamie Oliver non-stick pan by Tefal”

★☆☆☆☆

written by garyrowe on 23/03/2014

This product is useless and I would not recommend it to anyone. I have had the pan for about 3 years and the coating is absolutely useless in spite of using and cleaning it exactly as recommended in the accompanying booklet. Right from the start the coating was not very good, and I complained to Jamie Oliver and Tefal with no response. In my opinion the product is no better than any cheap alternative available.

“Disappointed To Say The Least!! Doesn't Even Deserve 1...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Jabl22 on 05/11/2013

Very disappointed with these pans. Bought just before Christmas last year but wish I'd seen these reviews before I bought them. Although the non-stick coating is fine (so far), the pans have discoloured badly on the outside. Never mind 10 months old they look 10 years old. Can't believe Jamie Oliver is still putting his name to these pans. Complained to Tefal direct and was told that whilst they say they are "dishwasher safe" apparently they are not "dishwasher proof" - clever word play!! When they returned my pan that they had inspected they enclosed a new care leaflet - pretty sure this has been updated to advise that they will discolour if washed in a dishwasher - pity I can't find my original leaflet but if anyone has an old leaflet pre Christmas 2012 I'd like to see a copy!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

“I bought a Jamie Olive Tefal wok type of pan....”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 02/11/2013

I bought a Jamie Olive Tefal wok type of pan. Initially it was a good pan. Good and easy to use. The pan was used frequently sometimes 2-4 x a month. The coating has all bubbled up and broken, and is now unusuable. I did contact the Jamie Oliver site and although a reply stated they were busy, they never contacted me again. I am very disappointed with this item and would not recommend or buy another Jamie Oliver product.

“Tefal Casserole”

★☆☆☆☆

written by jennybruce on 18/05/2013

Perfect size shape and function. However, after 2 years (not heavy) use, having never been put in the dishwasher, or scoured, the tefal coating is peeling off. So much so that it cannot be used as it is now a health hazard. Truly disappointed. Cost very definitely not justified.

“Good Cookware Quality and Affordable”

★★★★☆

written by Hallsyk on 15/04/2013

Having got this kit I must say the we are very please with it, the non stick pan are beautiful to see, great to handle and you can really see that they are top quality. We also bough the three piece stainless steel pan set which was just under £50 and I must say that the quality is amazing, Tefal have always been the best in this and this time are just as good.

“DANGEROUS”

★☆☆☆☆

written by EileenMitchell on 02/03/2013

I bought a set of Hot stuff pans about 6 months ago. Why Jamie Oliver would put his name to this item is beyond belief. The lids and handles of these pans are so dangerous because they get so hot. The handle gets too hot for you to be able to take the lid off. The pans were quite expensive so why after only 6 months do they look old and tatty. Come on Jamie you're a great chef so why put your name to something that is dangerous and not fit for perpose.

Sigel48's Response to EileenMitchell's Review

Written on: 23/04/2013

Entirely agree. The handles on the lids are dangerous and can cause serious burns. Most other modern cookware have heat resistant handles or they are well insulated from the hot lid itself. These ones are not. Very very disappointed with this aspect of the saucepan we have just bought.

“GUARANTEE USELESS”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Goode on 22/02/2013

AUSTRALIAN LAW. Without proof of purchase, receipt or visa transaction - GUARANTEE OF THE NON STICK COATING does NOT EXIST. THEY FIND THE LOOPHOLE IN THE LEGISLATION to their benefit in negating any responsibility of the Lifetime Guarantee on the non stick surface. Instead of observing good Marketing Principles, they hide behind the 'proof of purchase legislation'. I, on the other hand, have a frying pan, with no proof of purchase: I personally feel as though I am being accused of improper acquisition, therefore they have no obligation to my complaint. Since my last email stating their lack of being Good Corporate Citizens, standing by their Guarantee, lack of good Marketing Principles and asking for this email to be sent to Senior Personnel, I have not received a reply. SHAME SHAME SHAME. The non stick surface has NO lifetime guarantee and the company Tefal, will find any reason to opt its responsibility to stand by their product, even accusing and disbelieving customers when they have tried to return their product. My case, no receipt or proof of purchase - response from Tefal - forget it, and now no email.

“Absolute Rubbish. Do Not Buy!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Gumbyson on 23/01/2013

Like every single other review on her for Jamie Oliver pans, I too am pretty disgusted at the state they are in after just a couple of years. The anodised coating looks like I have been at it with an angle grinder and the non stick coating is coming off every one of them. I have never used anything but wooden utensils and never put them in a dishwasher. Every time I use them now I get black bits in the food, and afterwards I have to soak them for ages to get the food off the bare metal where the coating has come away. This is a very poor show and I shall be writing to tefal and letting them know how I feel. I don't expect to get very far with them, but I will be pointing them to this review site and demanding a response. I'll let you know how I get on...

“Disgraceful quality and fit for the bin after a short time”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Deborahski on 09/09/2012

I bought these pans when I moved into my new house 6years ago. Within 6 months the lining of the pan had started to peel and black bits were in my food every time I used them. I never use metal equipment on my pans, only silicone or plastic and I cared for them as I was instructed. What do I do with them now??? A complete waste of money, they weren't cheap, and I have had to replace all of them. The royal Worcester plates are showing sighns of black patches coming through them too..... Jamie, you should put your power behind this and make sure that your customers are served with courtesy in the manner they deserve. I wish I had read these reviews first!!

“Expensive lesson”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 17/06/2012

Jamie Oliver pans are a waste of money. I had my first pans for 1 year when 2 started to blister and peel, and the outside was scratched from the gas hotplate. I returned them to Tefal personally where they were grudgingly replaced after I endured a lecture about how to care for them including never to heat an empty pan which is ridiculous for a frypan. I have cared for these ones like my best china teatowels layered between themn to avoind scratching, wettex in bottom of sink when washing etc and here we are 18 months later with the same issues. Time for the tip, wouldn't embarass myself by donating them to charity.

I was just wondering why the whole inside of the pot is peeling. I don't think I can keep using it really, all the black stuff is ending up in my food. It shouldn't really be like that, or is that normal?

I would not continue to use your pot in such a state as the chemicals that could leech into the food are unknown. The demise of my frying pan started a small 'tear' in the coating and over time the coating seemed to craze. After numerous emails to the manufacturer, they were not under any circumstances, interested in the problem and dismissed any responsibility from their 'life time guarantee'. It is my belief that Consumer Affairs or similar investigate this firm. The cost of Jamie Oliver's products and the life time guarantee are useless.
Report this content Jabl22 Written on: 14/07/2014
No idea, but its probably because they are the worst pans out. Mine haven't peeled, but they are chipped and the outside has faded - they look like they should be 20 years old not 20 months. If they're in guarantee take them back to the retailer but don't bother contacting Tefal - they'll only make some excuse that its your fault and Jamie Oliver's don't even respond to any correspondence.
Report this content Deborahski Written on: 15/07/2014
It seems that the pots are just poor quality and not made to either last or cope with the rigours of ordinary cooking. It really isn't normal to have black bits in your food from a shoddy pan!! I wish I had spent my money elsewhere....it's a pity that Tefal claim to have long lasting cookware.

I just bought a 11 piece Jamie Oliver cook set. I was told to season it. Put on a burner with vegetable oil, then put in oven for 40 minutes. When I called the store, they said you don't have to season it as its stainless steel. Seasoning is only useful for cast iron. I would like to get a correct answer if seasoning this set is useful and of value? Thanks Morty

I haven't had this problem myself Morty, but I do know that you don't season stainless steel. Who told you so???
