Very sad to find ‘Brown Misery’ no Magic at all now!! Palm Oil used plus very sugary content… Before the Chocolates was indeed Black with that bitter sweet taste ???? Now they are disappointedly disgustingly sweet - yuk ???? Never eating that again - Very sad!!!

It has been a long time since I have had Black Magic and I wish I hadn't bothered, the chocolate tastes gross compared to the plain chocolate they used to use when Rowntree's made them. Will not buy them again.

I used to absolutely love Black Magic when made by Rowntree. These are literally a pale shadow of the original. Dark chocolate should be dark and have a bitterness to offset the sweetness of the filling. Nestle’s version has very little chocolate in it and as a result is sweet and cloying. What a disappointment. I’d happily pay more for decent dark chocolate. Take note Nestle.

I could have cried , was bought a box of Black Magic for my birthday and looked forward to tucking into them, they used to be my very favourite as a lover of dark chocolate. What on earth have Nestle done , to be honest they may end up in the dustbin absolutely awful, don’t even taste like dark chocolate

Extremely disappointed in these chocolates, definitely not as I remember them to be!! Chocolate colour and shine of putting. Centres just a miss mash of musch. Very artificial in flavour and texture. I think nestle need to read their reviews and take note! Looks like someone puts a genuine bad review and then the company post a positive review! If you need some one to taste your recipes let me know. You can do a lot better.

The best chocolates ever, great flavours have kept to original formula which is great unlike some other brands! Great value delicious chocolates for those who like dark chocolate! A must ♥️

How disappointed am l to have tasted the "new chocolate recipe" Black Magic chocolate. The look of the chocolate alone is different, never mind the taste which is dreadful. You have ruined the name of Black Magic and more than ruined the chance of another purchase of these insipid tasting not so dark chocolates.

have not bothered to buy boxes of chocolates for years cos they looked like plastic and they all tasted boring so imagine my surprise when i was given a big box of BLACK MAGIC yesterday for my birthday. I was so surprised when i opened the box to find all the flavours which are my favourite like orange cream, coffee cream, raspberry cream and soft caramel etc. they tasted great and looked beautiful too. loved everything about them. need to get another box ASAP

What has happened? These are vile, sickly and horrible taste of chocolate. Glad it's not just us. They are NOTHING like the originals. Seriously, made me feel sick eating just one! DO NOT BUY!

I was given 2 boxes of Black Magic chocolates made by Nestle this Christmas The first box I ate a few one day and a few the next. Both times I felt really sick after them. I ended up in bed second time. It was only the second time I realised something was really wrong. There was a very strange chemical taste but since I’d not had them before I wasn’t familiar with the taste. I threw them in the bin. Second box I am afraid to open. Something very wrong with them.

We bought a box of Black Magic as a treat this Christmas and can't believe the change in them! What has been done to the originals? There's an old saying - if it ain't broke, don't fix it - these are disgusting! Will we buy them again? Not a chance!!

After 20 years I was excited to receive a box. What a dreadful disappointment , Ghastly chocolate made with surely the cheapest and nastiest ingredients available. Insipid and boring interiors. After 2 chocolates the box was confined to the bin. Do these manufacturers take the public for fools with fading memories. I will be careful in future when buying anything from Nestle.

Bought my first box of Black Magic since they switched to Nestle. I remember well the Black Magic of old made by Rowntree of York, and these bear little resemblance. Gone is the rich dark chocolate and favourite centres, like cherry, nut cluster and Montelimar. Now very bland and lacking in distinctive flavours, no doubt due to using artificial ingredients. Won’t be buying again. Another retrograde step and cheapening of once quality brand. Avoid!

Wow. I remember my Gran always having this treat of a chocolate box in the front room - a delicious reward for not running her ragged during visits! However, this bears absolutely no resemblance to what I used to eat back then. Nowadays, for some reason, the Black Magic box is full of just horrible, horrible chocolates and cheap, synthetic tastes. The roof of my mouth and tongue were throbbing after the first bite - had to rinse it out with marmite and out of date sour milk to get rid of the nasty aftertaste. I don’t know who bought whom out, but these bad boys aren’t made with the same love, care, pride or ingredients of yesteryear. Avoid at all costs. If I could have given zero stars, I would have.

If, like me, you remember Black Magic chocolates fondly, do NOT try these! In no way do they resemble the Black Magic of old. The Chocolates themselves are pathetically small, the centres more like cream eggs; mega-sugary and almost totally devoid of flavour. If you want to offend a loved one, you might consider buying them a box of these! If you're looking forward to trying them yourself, don't do it! You have been warned!

As a child in the 1960's I loved these. A tiny box would be given as a treat. The centres, montelimar, butterscotch, coffee, cherry, and marzipan to name but a few! Now they are small, centres boring, and to put it bluntly, the cheapest to produce. I've received some as a gift. Annoyed people don't know how standards have dropped, and buy them. Fit only for the bin. Such a shame. Someone needs to reproduce the old centres, a throw back to when things were done properly, worth buying, and really were a treat.

As has been written by many others, Black Magic 'used' to be a decent assorted chocolate box. It has now turned into a tasteless box of nothing. Bland flavours, smaller chocolates and less of them. Avoid at all costs!

I love dark chocolate and was pleased when I was given a box at Christmas, but that feeling didn’t last long! I used to love Black Magic when I was younger but these chocolates aren’t how I remember them. Nestle seem to have ruined them just like they have ruined other chocolates that they have got their hands on! The chocolate has no flavour and the fillings taste horrid. What a shame! I shan’t be buying them in the future that’s for sure. It says on the box “discover the secret of the Black Magic box”. It’s no secret - they are just not fit for human consumption!

very disappointed with the taste or lack of in these chocolates. Few in the box and do not taste like a quality product which they use to be but these sure are not to my taste. Will never buy this brand again.

After tasting these chocolates, my husband and I have decided to never purchase these again. All we taste was the flavor of coconut. It was then that I read the ingredients. What do I see, but the words palm oil, palm oil, palm oil. Sadly many companies are replacing good quality ingredients with the cheap production of palm oil. To all the people that buy chocolate as gifts, remember to check the ingredients. Make sure the words "palm oil" does not appear.

Black Magic was my favorite chocolate . I looked forward to them every Christmas and on different occasions during the year . It saddens me that big business gets away with quantity before quality and cannot justify the cost of the sub-par product to the consumers.
