“wickes conned me into driving 50 miles for nothing”

I was looking for a new front and end bath panel to brighten up my bathroom and after my wife found one on wickes site she phoned to see if they had them in stock.The employee said that they had and it was agreed he would put them to the side for her as we stayed 50 miles away. when we arrived at the store later we were shown the panels.. “Wickes - Poor service and even worse customer service”

When Wickes told me my order would be delivered between 12 and 6, I naturally assumed they meant after 12 and before 6. Apparently not! So when 6 O'clock came and went and I called customer services, do you think I got an apology? One is entitled to dream! What I actually got was denial of liability. 12 to 6 is a big enough window of opportunity that they set themselves and they confirmed it only that morning. I recently tried to place a relatively large order via the Wickes website and is almost like they didn't want me to order anything. “where have wickes gone??”

Ordered goods online on 31 July with next day delivery. No delivery 1 Aug so I emailed this morning (2 Aug). 6 hours later I get a response saying someone will get in touch. Not impressed with this, I telephoned customer support only to get an electronic message saying all lines are busy & then get cut off. Happened continually. “Maybe reasonably priced, but ran by clueless directors”

Bought some fence panels and posts late one friday evening, expecting to get a call am sat by the local shop (after reading the terms and conditions), placed the order... Called sat to see what the score was and found that they would be delivering next sat. So what am i paying an additional £5 for? Saturday delivery, but one which will suit them. “Wickes Belmar Toilet Cistern”

Wickes are the most horrible merchant I have ever dealt with. I placed an order on Thursday evening, with an opinion it will be delivered on Friday or at the most by Saturday. I placed an order for flooring underlay and should have been delivered next day. Waited in all day, flooring and scotias I ordered through another company were delivered at 9am on Wednesday. “Wickes bath/shower”

Bought a bath and tap with shower attcahment from www.wickes.co.uk and was very disappointed. Everycorner that could be cut was. For example, for the bath to be level you had to have all the legs at the absolute maximum extenson - the plumber said that by doing this the bath was them unstable. If they had allowed 20mm more on the screws it would have been fine. The shower attachemnt was about 15 cm too short - an extra bit of pipe would have cost next to nothing. Purchased two replacement d\g windows. Asked if handles were included told - yes. 10 mile round trip later to pick up handles that were not included. Given, sorry, SOLD Handles at this time (£5 each) and advised that I would also need special egress hinges at £22 a pop. “Deliveries late and a rip off”

I ordered ballast and cement to be delivered on Saturday morning costing more due to the delivering being on a weekend. I received a phone call Friday evening to say my delivery would be between 8am and 12 noon. I contacted Wickes at 11.50 with a promise the driver is on the way, 12.20 to be told sorry it won't be untill 1pm, I rang the company to be passed from pillow to post and 2pm I am still waiting for a promised phone call to let me know where the delivery is. “Worst delivery service”

I called Wickes customer services 6 days before I wanted delivery. I was told that all items were in stock and that a wednesday delivery the following week (or eariler) should be possible. I was called Monday and told they only did Thursday delivery to my city...why didnt couldnt customer services relay that? I called to complain, and was told that they only did thursday delivery. They apparently pass on or allow someone to access your info. Had a kitchen plan done at Maidstone store in Jan 2012 and got a call from another kitchen firm a week later saying 'Wickes had passed on my information'. The manager didn't seem interested or to care about data protection. Will never use them again.
