The only problems ive had with the gun is once a silencer came loose, and the barrel bent but that was my own fault, which may I say they don't come cheap. I paid 100 for my barrel to be replaced and fitted but since then its been really a joy to shoot. Also another bad point when you fire it.. the kick it gives off.. I wouldn't give it to young starters to the air gun world… Read Full Review

The BSA Lightening gun is one class little rifle. Its not to expensive, its accurate, quiet and has all the hitting power that a hunter carbine needs. It handles really well in the fields, great little hunting set up when combined with a 4x32 or 3-9x40 scope. Recommended… Read Full Review

Hi all - Just a heads up to anyone having accuracy problems.
When I purchased this rifle a number of years ago I was unable to get any decent grouping, shop owner did his own tests and told me it was fine, I sensed there was a problem and sent it off to BSA. Couple of days later I received a letter of apology and my rifle with a shiny new barrel attached - apparently there was some problem during the manufacturing process - now it shoots like a dream and haven't had a problem since. No idea if… Read Full Review

Please discount my earlier review, my replacement is a total gem, when set up with a JSR 3x9x50 scope and a Deben tracer Lamp with Red Lens its great for rats especially, and with the silencer its reasonably quiet, I just like the feel of the gun , its nice to handle , and I am firing it with confidence and it is accurate enough, I am using RWS Super Hollow Points and they fairly make a good slap when hitting something, overall I would recommend this gun to anyone… Read Full Review

I badly wanted to give this gun a great review, but I must have got one of the bad ones you read about amongst these reviews. First thing i noticed that the pellets had to be pushed forcibly into the barrel it is really tight, I tried 3 different types of pellets: Air Arms Hunter, RWS Hobby Flatheads and Crosman Accupell.
Next problem was getting it zeroed: I shattered 2 4 x32 scopes. After spending ages seemingly getting it right after getting 3 or 4 shot grouping it startted putting shots 4… Read Full Review

BSA Lightning, top rifle for the beginner or some one who prefers to use a spring powered rifle.
This rifle sounds like a rifle should.
If you want it a bit quieter have a gas ram fitted for a mere £53.00.
All in all a top bargain rifle for under £300… Read Full Review
