I have just snapped my Peugeot Speedfight drive belt so my ped is out of action for a bit. Im going to get a sports drive belt as it will improve performance. I have got a PM Tuner on it at the minute and I am saving up for a malossi variator and clutch. Hoping with all the above to get about 60/65. I want to get a doppler filter but how can you fit them on? Any suggestion would be appreicated… Read Full Review

Make sure the bolt holding the exhaust to the engine are tight. My ones came loose, my bike went a bit noisier and every time I hit the smastest of puddles it would cought and splutter for ages. I tightened it up and repacked the exhaust (only if you have a race pipe) and it went well from then on.

Written on: 10/03/2008 by badpetty (1 review written)

My Peugeot Speedfight 2 is fast enough in mid range as it has a 70cc bore kit and viper exhaust it does around 45-48 mph. its fairly reliable for the age of it since its an X plate and its good down the back lanes as its quite nippy. The petrol consumption is terrible I can get through 15 quid a week on petrol and do around 60 miles a week as its 7 miles back and to too collage. I'm going to get some lighter rollers as well as its slow off the mark, my weight could be a problem as I weigh 15… Read Full Review

to get your variator deristricted i would advise getting it done proffesionally as you need a compresser wrench and also it is very complicated such as you have to make sure you put the belt on the right way and also make sure when you put the transmission cover back on that you dont pinch the oil tube other wise it will almost straight away seize your engine, ive got a speedfight 2 r cup 57 plate and ive got variator deristricted and a metrakit sports exhaust an mine is hitting 56mph on a good day with no wind over wise i go about 52-53mph

Yes you have remove the variator and as u lift it off on the back is a washer (nut) remove that it wont hurt that is how u derestricted the variator but be careful because the back is no longer stable because the nut is removed but have the front facing u and push it on and slide up so the rollers dont fall out. then get some lock tight and put it on the thread and bolt the variator back on leave it on for an hour and then put the side case back on and start the bike up and let it tick over dont rev it because if you here any noises turn it off and inspect the rollers.

i bought a speedfight 2 about a month ago. it has a technigas exhaust,70's kit,new rollers and i have taken the penny out of the back. It now touches 50 up a hill no problem. I would recomend a big bore kit as it will not blow up if fitted right. my speedfight is on W plate so its quite old but looks amazin. i am planin on fitting a bigger carb to increase my power

I've had my Peugeot Speedfight 2 iron x since about August 2007. It set me back £2150 including insurance etc, the bike seems to still be fine, the only problems I've had has been a faulty speedometer wich ticks when rolling freely and reads about 40mph when I'm clearlly doing about 25 - 30, otherwise the bike seems to be fine, I have left my bike standard due to insurance reasons but I plan to fit a racing exhaust and de-restrict… Read Full Review

yes first pinch the belt with both fingers. then get a tool that looks like a set of pliers put a band round the variator thick band so it wont snap and undo the bolt the variator will come out then on the back u see a washer undo the washer and then be careful because that nus holds the back on 2 stop the rollers from falling out. now makes sure havent lost no rollers or ramp giudes they triangle shape but first inspect the rollers if they are fine put them back in and tilt the variator towards u. then put the variator back where it was the slide it back on but remember to hold the back or the rollers will fall out. then get some locktite put it on the thread and do the bolt back up and leave it for an hour to dry. then put the belt back on but first pinch the ramp guide 2 the clutch the belt will be slack. then roll the back wheel forwards until the clutch tightens the the belt will gain strength. then put the sidecase back on and start the bike up but let it tick over first and listen for any weird noises if they accure do the process again as the rollers may have fallen out. it is tricky but if its done right it will add atleat 5 to 10mph on. advise me with this... put 4.5g rollers in, malossi kevlar belt, put a race pipe if u dont have 1. and up-jet the carb 2 an 86main jet it will do 60mph on the flat... my mate does as i derestricted his for him.

1. Take cover off were the drive belt is
2. behind that their is a cog that you have 2 take off
3. un-screw the variater and take it off
4. there will be a metal plate which you just take off. this will allow the rollers to move up more which will give you more speed.
5. make sure everything is clean inside the variater.
6. Buy some 10g rollers which will add some more power to ypur speedfight.
7. put it all together again

This made my speedfight go 15mph more
