written by AlonsoWoodward on 06/03/2014

I had this in combo to oily skin in the color natural beige and I don't like the way it looks it definitely doesn't leave a flawless finish like it says I found that if I put it on and then try to wash it off it looks okay but you shouldn't have to do that! It doesn't add a lot of coverage and it makes it look like there's makeup on the skin. It makes your skin look like a mess with makeup cakey all over and pimples still showing! Ugh dont know how everyone loves this. I would've loved if I wasn't the only one with something bad to say!

This product is amazing!! Being a woman of color it is hard finding a makeup that will match my complexion, but this does the trick by far!! I also have oily asking but the best thing to do is just blotch when u get oily. I only blotch about 1-2 times a day and I'm good for the rest of the day. The coverage is flawless and this is the only makeup I will ever buy seriously

“Great foundation”

written by on 13/03/2013

I suffer with bad skin and breakouts and found nothing that would cover and look flawless till I found this foundation that my friend recomemded love it great coverage and you can get it for dry or oily skin there is 2 ranges.i used this on my wedding day everyone said I look stunning and flawless .i would recommend if you have really oily skin to finish it off with powder last you all day if you find it hard to get on I applie mine with fingers but lots of people put it on with damp sponge .this is best foundation I've found and don't bring me out in more spots so that's bonus love it I'm very fair so us colour buff in the dry range .would differently recommend this to people who suffer with bad skin as it great for looking flawless you can get this at boots for about £12 last me good month or 2.

“Lasted 19 hours in 45 degree heat!”

★★★★☆

written by reanspeaks on 22/01/2013

After hearing great things from Youtubers and fellow bloggers about this foundation, I thought I'd give it a try. Testing it on a 45 degree heat (or 113 Fahrenheit), and wearing it for 19 hours straight - it definitely lasted on my face for that long! The only problem I found with this is the lack of oil control. Though I purchased the range for combination/oily skin, I still had a constant shine over my face. See more about my experience at my blog: http://wp.me/p2OuiT-2u.

Hi,

I tried this foundation in 45 degrees Celsius (ie 113 Fahrenheit) and it still stayed on!
I'm also going through the winter months at the moment and this foundation has survived through half a box of tissues on my nose!

I haven't tried the Maybelline Fit Me yet, but this Revlon foundation is definitely a great long lasting option!

“Best drug store foundation out there!”

★★★★★

written by Crazyblonde on 16/01/2013

You have no I dea how surprised I was with the quality of this foundation. I have incredibly oily skin, and usually I have to reapply foundation bronzer and powder about two hours after I put it on. I've tried tons of products, both drug store and high end, and honestly, this foundation works better than all of them for me. My previous foundation crush was NARS Matte Finish, but at $40 bucks a bottle, I wasn't crazy about repurchasing. Plus I was still reapplying makeup every couple hours. So I did some research and bought this foundation with pretty low expectations. Believe me, I could not be more happy with the quality!! It's stays on literally all day, provides beautiful coverage, covers scaring or acne and hasn't made my face break out what so ever. Plus it's super cheap compared to what I was buying before. So oily skinned friends, drop the Chanel and Lancôme and grab some of this amazing foundation!

“Only foundation I use”

★★★★★

written by on 09/06/2012

This foundation is perfect for my skin. It has medium coverage, long- lasting powers for my incredibly oily skin, and sun screen. I find just using my fingers to apply is fine. The only thing I don't like is the bottle, but I have been able to manage :)

“Lovely”

★★★★★

written by thescreamingpanther on 23/04/2012

I decided to branch out from my usual foundation - I was tired of it feeling too greasy and heavy. I read some reviews and decided to try Colorstay. It was a little more expensive than my usual, but at £12 it's still a cheaper than many others - and definitely value for money! It feels really light, and blends really well with my skin tone. It's definitely the best foundation I've used. My skin has a tendency to be quite dry, and all the foundations I've tried so far have only highlighted the dryness, but this one doesn't - somehow it actually covers it up, it almost feels like it's moisturising as well, although it is not advertised as any sort of moisturiser. I usually don't go for matte-finish foundations because of my skin, but this one's actually very good on it - doesn't make it greasy or make me break out. The only bad points I can say are that the bottle doesn't have a pump, you just have to pour it out, so it's quite hard to use. It also dries very quickly, so it can be quite hard to rub in. It doesn't smell particularly nice either - a bit like wall paint? But overall I'll definitely be buying this again; a really good product.

“Revlon Colorstay :(”

★★★☆☆

written by SweetCheek on 03/11/2011

im very disappointed in this product, i heard such good reviews on this product so i decided to go to the shop and purchase this. The proce was very high for a drug store foundation. it cost me £12.50, and what a waste of money it was, i still got more than half the bottle left, this foundation smell was horendous, very chemicalfied, the coverage was ok however by the end of the day it did tend to become very oily, and my face looked grey. i will not be getting this product again. And will will be sticking to my loreal true match, as it truly is my true match.

written by on 01/05/2011

I have tried so many make up lines and I ALWAYS come back to this brand...some reviewers say it is blotchy and I will say that you must put on a moisturizer first or it will "grab" and won't let go. I use a sponge applicator to apply my foundation with and it is awesome! It is liquid which I like as you can smooth it where you need it. Just remember, it WILL stay wherever you leave it, hence the name "Colorstay"! Be sure to blend and don't be afraid to apply more if you need it after blending. I also like the complementary powder that goes on top. To me, that is what makes this make up awesome. If you don't use the powder with this make up I say you are not getting the whole benefit. The powder sits lightly on top and creates a smooth unbelieveable canvas. AWESOME! (Also, I am not a paid reviewer, I have been using this make up for at least 10 years)

“I bought this foundation after hearing it lasted a...”

★★★★☆

written by on 04/08/2010

I bought this foundation after hearing it lasted a long time while giving medium to full coverage, (a must for me as I'd used foundations in the past that just started to "slide" off my face after just two hours...not nice). I bought and used the oily/combination skin version in and I have to say, I haven't looked back since! By far the best out of the foundations I've tried in the past. Here's an overview:

Pros:
- Lasts AGES: OK, it started fading a little with me after about 5-6 hours, but that's in terms of shine, not redness! (I just applied a little powder and the shininess went away. My face was still fully covered in terms of uneven skintone however).
- Doesn't break me out, (and I have fairly blemish-prone skin).
- Seems to 'blend' into your skin over time; it feels less heavy the longer you wear it, 'til you barely feel like you're wearing a foundation at all, yet it remains looking flawless, and still with full coverage of redness and scarring; a great thing by any means!
- Comes in a wide range of tones, and for oily/combination skin as well as normal, and dry.
Cons:
- Feels a bit heavy and sticky when first applying. I recommend using a damp makeup sponge and subtly blending away any harsh lines that occur, if any, to stop it feeling cakey and looking too thick.
- Would be so much more convenient with a dispenser! (Pouring it out is a bit irritating as occasionally too much comes out the end).
- Slightly difficult to blend without the aid of a damp sponge, and a bit easier to remove in my opinion, (just cleansing & moisuturising), but still not effortless, (it may be a good thing that it stays put however!)

Overall, I'd recommend this foundation if you want long lasting, mostly full coverage, but don't mind the fact it is a liquid foundation, (some people have reservations that they are "bad" for your skin, though I have no evidence of this in my own experience), or that it feels a bit thick when first applying, and for the first, perhaps fifteen minutes after this.
I maybe wouldn't recommend it for people with dry skin - I can't draw on this too much but maybe it's a bit too thick for their skin type - but I *would* definitely to people with blemishes and acne scarring, as it hasn't broken me out at all, yet covered me up very well.
And that's it!
Hope this helps somebody out there (:!

I found this review very helpful because I think I have nearly a whole Boots drawer full of various brand foundation and all of them are rubbish! I have oily skin, but good skin and not one of them do what they say on the tin. All make my skin oily within 1/2 and look caked. so thanks to the Review I have just been and spent a huge £ 11.99 and lets see, just put it on and looking good so far.

After 3 years of trying a variety of foundations from different brands, i wasn't satisfied with any of them.I don't usually use Revlon but as i have an oily T-zone and dry skin around my cheeks i thought i'll try the Revlon Colourstay oily/combination type. Also, as the foundation is full coverage i thought it might cover up the redness around my nose and cheeks-which it has!
I payed £11.99 for the foundation which in my opinion is good value.
On the other hand, the foundation bottle has an open top which causes aplication a slight difficaulty.I use a foundation brush so i have to pour the foundation bottle on to the bristles which ocassionally puts too much on the brush and i end up wasting most of the foundation.

I often find it hard to find a foundation that does exactly what i want. I want a long lasting foundation, that looks flawless and is the right colour for my skin. The Revlon colorstay foundation is great!! I have used so many and am usually disapointed. I have used benefit, bare escentuals and many more.I am half egyptian, so am quite tanned and can never ever find the right colour but the true beige colour is perfect for me. My skin isnt bad but i have slight redness on my cheeks that i can never cover but this covers well. Overall i am very happy with this foundation, my skin looks flawless and natural and it stays on all day (even at work)!

“So I tried this after not having much luck finding a...”

★★★★☆

written by on 31/03/2010

So I tried this after not having much luck finding a drugstore foundation that will last a day in the Australian summer. Heard so many good things on the internet and decided to go for it, despite the price ($38AU, fortunately I got it 15% off, but still).

Firstly, colours were difficult. I have a fair complexion with more of a yellow undertone, so went for sand beige 180. It's not an exact match but is close enough. However I was impressed that they have it for oily/combo and normal/dry skin. I tend to become an oil slick, so went for oily/combo. Also it has SPF 6, a definite plus for those in sunnier climates.

Application takes a bit of practice as it dries so quickly. Once you get the hang of it, though, it's not quite so bad. Until then it can end up a little splotchy. If you can't get an exact skin match like me, really make sure you blend like mad around your jaw/hair lines or it will leave a harsh line. I've been having trouble finding a foundation with good coverage that looks pretty natural, but this one was a pleasant surprise once you get the hang of the application. The packaging is a let down for what you pay, though. A pump or something would have been nice.

As I mentioned, I live in Australia. It's hot here right now, and I work in retail, so this stuff is being subjected to hot bright lights, sweat and harsh aircon, as well as my naturally rather oily skin. But at the end of the day not only was it still on my skin, but it hadn't moved a bit. It still looked flawless and natural, and only slightly dewy. This is a huge and VERY impressive achievement.

Also, for something with heavier coverage it doesn't feel heavy. I hate that feeling of knowing I have foundation on, but this feels like I've just washed my face, even after a full day of work. It is a little difficult to remove, though. I need to wash my face thoroughly (sometimes twice) and then tone to get it all off.

Ultimately, once you get the hang of how to put the stuff one, it's tops. Didn't break me out, good coverage, and actually survives a decent battering. I'll be buying it again.

to start of with i loved this foundation covered my acne scars but it was starting to make me break out in more acne. i then noticed when i would wash my face with my face washer it was very hard to clean the make up of the facewasher. i left it over night came back to wash my face and saw that the foundation bleached my facewasher and also my towels. after i saw this i have not used the foundation since... if a foundation bleaches material imagine what it has done to my face. NOT HAPPY! i paid $45 for this bottle hoping that paying more i would get a GREAT foundation.

I recently bought Revelon Colorstay 24 hr makeup. It is not liquid enough, hard to get it out of the bottle - even standing it upside down and shaking it. What do you recommend? I just bought it at Walgreens Drug Store a couple of weeks ago.  I like the color but frustrated with it's usability. Help!

Hi Windsor1019, That doesn't sound right. My Revlon Colorstay was runny enough to pour straight out of the bottle. Haven't heard anyone else having issues with the consistency either. Might be worth trying to get it exchanged for another bottle? -ReanSpeaks.
