Does Habitat customer services actually? I have been overcharged for lamp and have rung them to try and discuss this on an 0800 number which does not exist, left a message on another number which offered to call you back due to unavailable agents (it hasn't), emailed and had an auto response containing a number which is only a store locator information line. What Can I say I am in the middle of the worst administrative nightmare. It has been a month since I first telelephoned HABITAT's customer services line to request pick up of a MARCELLO wooden bench (£250.00) which we do not want. I eventually spoke to a "Manager" who said there was but 1 person dealing with all returns queries in the furniture department (from online orders) and they were going to employ 22 new people on Monday. Habitat very poor at putting the customer first, and seemingly don't care about winning customer revenue.
Missed commitments made to me due to inadequate communication between them and the 3rd party logistics company - Ceva. I'm without an order that I have waited 4 weeks for already, and Habitat couldn't care less.
Don't order with Habitat unless you can physically see stock, and you are able to get it home yourself.

OMG! Wish I had read the other reviews before placing order!! Customer services told me I had received the items last week and acted as if it was my fault I didn't know the tracker number.
Spent a total of 18 minutes on the phone to be told the above after phoning the incorrect number given to me in an e-mail from Customer Services.
As others have said, Habitat were quick enought to take the money.

I made an ordered some rugs 6 weeks ago on line. The order was confirmed by email the same day. I have since spent the last 4 weeks chasing up where my order is as the website made me suppose that the items would be delivered within 7-10 days. Despite several phone calls and two emails, I have been told that it would be chased up and that one of the rugs was at the depo. I didn't even get as far as buying !
Went into the York store to buy Xmas gifts in mid Nov - they don't extend their returns period as most other stores do.
As a result I had to leave the store quickly to shop elsewhere. Blonde shop assistant called after ' How rude '
as a result of above will avoid shops, as a result of reading this site will avoid on line !

Ordered a sofa bed online on 14th August 2010. It cost me 1450GBP. Delivery date has now been moved 3 times. "Estmated time of delivery" now an unbelievable 14 weeks (3 and a half months) after purchase date. Could feasably be even longer. Have written two complaint letters. No response as yet. I am writing to share a truly appalling Habitat customer service experience. In June 2010 we ordered the HANA commode along with 3 other pieces (2 chairs + HANA desk )
First delivery: date previewed - we wait all day - no delivery - no call - no apologies. Up to me to call, complain and set up a new day.
Second delivery: HANA commode arrives - we open the boxes - key pieces damaged!

I have to say that after reading the reviews I would be a very concernd if i was a director or shareholder I am a CEO of a mail order company and was looking to order some things for a show we are at and was shocked by this and my own experance they are dreadful

As with others I would advise anyone to steer clear of ordering online from Habitat. They took payment of over a thousand pounds pretty sharply (it came out of my account the day after my order) but nearly 2 months on I've heard nothing about when the chairs will be delivered. When I phoned nobody was able to give me an idea of delivery. Received cabinet broken waiting for replacement parts.

Groan ... I can see from these reviews there is a blatant pattern of poor quality service and cynical trading practises.
I will never shop at Habitat again.
I always thought them so overpriced anyway... mostly designer chipboard & melamine, but it is their customer service that is appalling: they told me items are in stock when they do not have stock as they are discontinued, and then failing to refund, and then not refunding postage for items never posted. I ordered a sofa 6 weeks ago now. Habitat have said the sofa would be delivered within 4-5 weeks. When I rung after 4 weeks they told me to check the bottom of the receipt which said they would call within 5 weeks to arrange delivery, how convenient. I have just had a Porto sofa delivered with Cole chair and table. The DPD refused to try and get it up into my flat, and they had only 2 men for a sofa that obviously takes 4 men to move up to my floor. Ridiculous. I measured the space and it fits through with a little persuation.
I called Habitat and am awaiting their response and solution.
Not a happy bunny,
Took a special day off work also.

I must say, that having read most of the reviews on here that I am pretty shocked! I have used the online service about half a dozen times this year and have only once had an issue with an out of stock item (which was resolved with a swift refund causing no delay to rest of my orders). When I dealt with the online customer service team they were extremely helpful, I can honestly say that they made me feel at ease when I was panicking a little! Pathetic, horrible customer service. DO NOT use their online shopping. They shipped 6 wine glasses and 8 tumblers, each wrapped only in tissue with no padding. All but 3 were smashed, and they sent all varieties of colours instead of the colours I ordered. Ordered a Perouse wardrobe from Habitat on 5th Dec 09 and was told delivery will be in 3 weeks (26th Dec).Anyway, Christmas and new year goes by still no delivery. well, my delivery never took place! I ordered a sofa (Porto chaise sofa bed) in January, the 8th 2010. I ordered on the phone and finally on Saturday, so exactly after 11 weeks, the delivery company shows up...they did not even try to fit the sofa into the lift. They just said that the office should have sent 4 men instead of 2 because as I had pointed out on the notes of the order, I live on the 4th floor.
