“I've cancelled my order and won't buy from Habitat again.”

I ordered a coffee table and paid for it straight away. It was supposedly in stock. When I hadn't heard anything after a couple of weeks I contacted Habitat to be told there was a problem with their system and the carrier couldn't recognise my postcode. My house is not a new build. I've had several calls and emails and have even spoken to the carrier twice. Today they finally told me they could arrange delivery....for 1st August! “Don't buy from Habitat online!”

Made the mistake of thinking that what I remembered as a good retailer (when they had shops) would match up to today's standards in online shopping. I was wrong. They took my money immediately and two weeks later no goods. (Ordered a duvet cover, not a great big sofa). Phoned twice and in the second call discovered that they had not given the carrier the full address so my chances of receving the goods are minimal. They have my money, though. “Stil waiting for a sofa...”

I ordered and paid in full for a sofa online at Habitat, delivery time was 6 - 8 weeks. 12 weeks later I am still waiting. A call to customer service tells me 1 part is in (it's a modular sofa) one part will be 1st August and the other who knows! It's leather so my concern is they will be different colours. “Poor quality, has gone downhilll since takeover by Argos”

I have always been a big fan of Habitat. I love the style and elegance of their furniture. It has always struck me as a young dynamic outward looking brand with iconic origins in the 1960s. So even when it went into receivership I remained loyal and continued to shop there. We had a horrendous experience with a sofa, which took more than six months to deliver. “Misleading delivery information”

Bought and paid for a table and was assured it was in stock. They then informed me it was out of stock and I had to wait two months for the table. The delivery was an absolute fiasco - they can only specify a day and not am or pm until the day before delivery. Also there was a two week wait for a delivery slot. “Habitat - Most awful experience - AVOID at all costs!”

Horrible experience with Habitat. Bought an Italian sofa set (Ruppert) for £3,000 in Oct 2011. When delivered - turned out the 3 units which constitute a sofa were made of all different colours of the fabric. They agreed to do a replacement. Then IT TOOK 6 MONTHS (I kid you not) to actually get a replacement sofa. Countless emails from our side, phone calls, chasing up - many emails were not even answered by Habitat/Home Retail Group... “Dreadful Customer Service :(”

Habitat collected the wrong clock from our office. They booked it back into their warehouse and have put in into their stock to use again. This clock is our property. Their clock still awaiting collection after having booked a return twice more! Habitat will not accept liability for our property despite the fact that they are going to resell it. “Waiting for 4 months now,”

We ordered a sofa and few other goods in December 2011 and nothing arrived so far. Habitat is pushing back orders every week. You will get different responses from customer service and the store. Nobody will ever contact you via email or phone and inform you about the delay. It pretty much feels like they are going bust (again) and that they cannot pay their suppliers. Ordered a product online after trying it out 'in store'. Took advantage of a one-time 10% discount upon purchasing online, which worked in conjunction with a 'spring sale' item. Bought numerous items to furnish our new house, some arrived without a mark but have since broken due to bad quality (couch, TV stand) other arrived in bits, (sink, batroom cabinet, bed)could get no reply from customer service and when we did it was unsatisfactory. I ordered 8 glasses at the end of November 2011 as a Christmas present. 7 turned up promptly so I started chasing them for the missing one. Emails, telephone calls and even letters went unanswered. We spent £1400 on a sofa from Habitat less than 12 months ago. Despite light use, the cushions have lost all of their bounce and the sofa is no longer comfortable. We emailed and phoned Habitat but they wanted nothing to do with us. They didn't even bother to reply to the email! “Habitat order never received”

I have placed an order on the Habitat website the 25th of November. All the items were in stock and delivery was supposed to be within a week. After almost a month I am still waiting.
