Do you know if the Webley Longbow still comes with the Lothar Walther barrel (in .22)? I'm not sure that they do since they were bought out by AGS, but I'm looking very seriously at buying one soon.

Written on: 28/03/2006 by slugs (1 review written)

In my opinion the Webley longbow is a much underrated air rifle which deserved greater accolade. Extremely accurate and beautifully made. Excellent two stage trigger and Walther Lothar barrel. The bluing of the metal is far superior to the likes of Air Arms or Weihrauch. The walnut stock is particularly nice with its pistol checkering. No longer in production since Webley went bust after 200 years in the business. There are a few still available. Recommend purchasing a fine example of British… Read Full Review

Written on: 11/03/2006 by RalphButler (1 review written)

I bought my Webly Longbow in February 2005 from a local gunshop in Stafford. With it I got a Webley 4x32 and some low Webley mounts along with a BSA SAS silencer.
I chose the more manly .22 calibre as I was planning to use it for conies although with hindsight I believe .177 would of been a better choice due to the flatter trajectory.
When I got it home I bolted the scope on and dashed into my 25 metre range in the garden to zero it in. Accuracy was nothing short of outstanding with… Read Full Review

The Webley Longbow is superbly accurate, it has an excellent balance with a beautiful 1/2 UNF silencer thread. In my opinion you would need to travel a long way to better this for the money, added to though it has a gaurantee, as one woold expect, I would be surprised if ever needed to use it.

I found this review helpful because...I`ve just bought an identical set-up;0.22 Brummie Longbow/SAS silencer, mine is running milder at 10.8 foot/lbs,but the shot to shot consistancy is amazing, with Webley Mosquitoes or Large (5.52mm) Defiants.A V-Mach tune up is now on my list of "things to do"!

I bought my Webley longbow today, I had originally ordered the xocet on thursday, it had arrived arrived on friday by mid-day but was a .177 I wanted the .22 I phoned up the dealer who was extremely helpful, first they offered me a free upgrade to the XS and some free accupells. But it wouldn't be with me until the next friday. I really wanted to shoot so I decided to drive up. When I got there they gave me a free upgrade to the Longbow carbine. “Webley longbow: ”

Written on: 14/03/2005 by 180SX (2 reviews written)

Webley longbow:
After getting into precharged, I sold off all of my high powered spring rifles because they were too much of a hassle for me (not that I couldn't shoot them accurately). The only spring guns that now appeals to me are medium powered ones because I see no sense in shooting a 20 fpe spring gun that may shatter even the toughest $300 scope. The Webley Longbow nicely fits into this category of medium powered springers.

Since its release, I have drooled over it and I finally gave… Read Full Review

I've owned my Webley longbow for a few weeks now and have found it to be an excellent weapon. It is very accurate and easy to use. The only problem I have had is that the pellets I was recommended (ELEY WASPS .22) seem to need enormous effort to be pushed into the breech can anyone tell me why? or tell me what pellets to use?… Read Full Review

The .22 calibre Elay Wasp pellets come in two different sizes; 5.5mm and 5.6mm. The 5.6mm Elay Wasps are made slightly larger as to accomodate the fractionally larger barrels on some german airguns and will therefore feel tighter in the barrel of a gun such as the longbow. If the lid of the tin is blue you have the 5.6mm Wasps. 5.5mm Wasps come in a tin with a purple lid.

Your longbow is obviously a dud then - it happens. But you have to know the difference between your rifle representing an entire line of models, and your rifle being a one off, with something badly wrong with it.

Written on: 13/09/2004 by wchilton (1 review written)

I recently acquired the Webley longbow and it is an impressive airgun! Metal finish is highly polished and deeply blued and the (walnut) stock is absolutely beautiful. Cocking effort is slightly more than I anticipated but that's the trade-off for a carbine-length barrel. The gun fires strongly with just a quick snap and not spring twang. Accuracy was below par at first and after talking with the previous owner and dis-assembling the gun for inspection I found that the factory spring had a… Read Full Review

Gun purchased on Saturday, lost its virginity to a feral pigeon on sunday. The poor critters don't stand a chance. Some don't even fall off the roof of the old mill they were shot on, they just roll over and die on the spot. This gun has tremendous accuracy and packs a mean punch, it also has really nice build quality and good woodwork. It's light and seems to be in-between carbine and rifle giving best of both worlds. Purchased new. Bluing on top of breach block was flawed, though the rest of the rifle was finished beautifully. Chrono at 670 fps with .22 Premiers. VERY accurate. Crisp shooting with almost no spring twang, and very reasonable recoil. Trigger is much better than average, but second stage has some small creep. The break is not quite as crisp as Rekord on Beeman R10 I owned some years ago, but better than any other sporter in the market that I have experience with (RWS, Gamo, etc) Balance… Read Full Review

This Webley longbow Air Rifle is one of the BEST spring powerd airguns in the world! Every part of this gun just blows away the rest. I have owend and fired the rest and nothing comes close. When you pick this gun up, the first thing you notice is the super quality deep polished blueing. Then the sheer classyness of the curved modern stock. Having read the Terry Doe review of the lazaglided Webley Longbow I went out a bought one in .177. Picking it up from Webley Venom the customer service was excellent. They scoped up and rough zeroed the gun for me and gave me 1000 Lazadomes to get me started. At the range I was delighted. The gun groups under 3/4 inch at 30 yards from a seated Field Target position every time. My best group at 30 yards had all 5 shots touching each other in a group around 1/2 inch. Oh no. I'm sorry, but I must defend the Stingray here! Seriously the Longbow is an awesome gun, and it has it's pluses over the Stingray, such as the safety catch, but the Stingray can certainly hold it's own. I find the action upon the Stingray, when cocking, etc, to be much smoother, and the trigger also feels better. Though to be fair, this is probably because my mate has set his Longbow's trigger to 'hairline' state. There's no pull- it goes straight to the second stage, then BANG! dangerous, if you ask me.
