I'm having to take my Siemens SL45 phone back as the phone peeps all by itself in the middle of the night, crashes all the time and is as slow as my gran! Also, when it's dropped, the metal paint comes off and looks pants. Please let me know if its just me with these problems. Also it's too slow and not as good as nokia… Read Full Review

Guys, it seems you are forgeting some aspects relating to the mobile phone world. First, the Siemens sl45 was the first mobile phone with mp3 and mmc (if i'm not mistaken). Just like cars of a new series (eg. v. golf iv), they all come with defects and problems (bugs) in the first year, so, it's not advisable to buy them when they come out (a question of time, I guess). Of course if you buy them you have waranty. In the other hand, you don't get a free upgrade to fix the mobile (it's not only… Read Full Review

I have been a Nokia fan for years & have owned many different mobiles. This SL45 phone from Siemens looks cool & has some great features. The MP3 player is outstanding although it would benefit from a larger capacity multimedia card. The serial port connection for downloading tunes is a joke. Why didn't Siemens use a USB port? The unit is a bit of a "posers phone". Sure it looks great & has some features which are handy but it is let down badly by a very poor menu system, small multimedia card… Read Full Review

I have always been a nokia fan until one week of owning an 8210. The screen failed.....rubbish.
I've now had my Siemens SL45 phone around 6 months. If you can live without being able to change the back/front it's got to be the best phone you could ever hope for.
Drag and drop loads of ringtones/logos to the phone from your pc in no time, and store as many as you want!!!
www.sl45.com is free and very easy.
mp3 player is as good as cd(around 6 songs)it doesn't take ages to do as someone has… Read Full Review

The SL45 from Siemens is the best phone ever, but buy a mulimedia card reader to connect to pc, makes mp3 files and ring tones so much faster to install, also use nokia graphics for screen, just copy examples from web sites and install from your pc, for free, same as ring tones install any for free… Read Full Review

I had this Siemens SL45 phone for over 6 months and I must say that I was impressed by the look and the fact that it was the FIRST mobile that has a built-in MP3 player in it. I should have known better that a company like Siemens cannot really outplay the specialists Nokia and Ericsson in this area..but I was fooled by the look. Make no mistake about it, the SL45 has many features..calendar..stop watch...count down..games..calculator...and you should be ok with it if you use it as an… Read Full Review

Overall the siemens sl45 is a good phone, just some problem with getting used to the function and abit adjustment in typing SMS (since I am a previous Nokia owner). Current Firmware is 49, i think version 43 is the one that upgrade to sl45i… Read Full Review

During the two months I have been using this phone (and I only got it because I managed to haggle the price down from £150 to just £30), I have found the siemens SL45 to be a nice little phone to use. This phone has many good points - MP3 Player, Dictaphone, WAP, a lovely orange backlight (makes a change from green!) an absolutely huge phonebook/addressbook capacity, IrDA, good reception quality (on One2One anyway), the list goes on, although its not perfect - I mean, siemens stuck an antenna… Read Full Review

I've had my Siemens SL45 phone for a few months now. When I first got it I was impressed with it. Gave it 10/10 for everything. It's only after using it a while and you got over the initial euphoria of it, that you realise that this mobile is utterly rubbish.
The texting menu is soooo tediously slow! I've wanted to smash this mobile up on more than one occasion! I can't believe how slow it is. I've owned 4 different make mobiles over the years and this is without doubt the slowest I've ever… Read Full Review

I got my Siemens SL45 on the back of all the good reviews saying what a great phone it is. It has some great features, and looks good, but underneath it's a cheap piece of shoddy work from Siemens. They've used cheap, slow technology and set out to rip the public off by making it look good. They then have the audacity to charge a lot of money for it. So what's wrong with it:
The SMS is painfully slow. You're forever watching the hourglass. You'll wait 10 secs watching the hourglass before… Read Full Review

i just buyed this Siemens SL45 mobile before two days.. but i must say that i'm very happy with it. the mp3 system is very good.. the only problem..is time.. i mean .. to copy a 3 mb song file .. you need about 5 minutes. that's a lot of time. except that i didn't have any problems.. i just want to know if and where can i find the downloadable upgrade software for upgrading and SL45 to SL45i .. because the SL45i is java enabled.. so you have more things to do.. anywayz.. take my email .. and… Read Full Review

I was so excited to get this Siemens SL45 phone which very soon turned into a big disappointment. The phone would switch itself off whether it was in your pocket or sitting on the desk, the 6 button had to be pressed very hard to work. The phone would also freeze up in the menu and I would have to remove the battery to reset it. I rang Siemens who informed me that they would send a new replacement handset after having to argue with them for 30mins. I received a replacement handset which turned… Read Full Review

I have always been a Nokia fan for years. I have used Nokia 6 series and 8 series in the past. Recently, I just bought Siemens SL45. My biggest admiration for this phone is its rich features despite its compact size. Any features can be found in this tiny phone, you name it, from WAP to voice dialing and memo, from MP3 to games. Not to mention you can store as much as data (voice, sms, song, appointments) into MMC supplied with the package. At the moment it is limited up to 32 MB. But you can… Read Full Review

I have had this phone for around two weeks now and also [still have] a Nokia 8310. The intention was to compare the two "at home" and then take the one back I didn't like. I do admit that it has been hard at times, as both offer some really nice features. I like the smallness of the Nokia 8310+Radio [and I still think it just shades the Siemens SL45 in terms of sexy-looks] but hate the fact that it doesn't have any more added features than the 8210 did. The Siemens SL45 has far more… Read Full Review

I have only had this Siemens phone for 5 days after the fabulous Nokia 8210 I'm finding it difficult to find my way around the SL45. However in time I'm sure I will have it mastered.
As a bit of a girl I'm not sure I really will use the MP3 I think that it is more of a boys toy....But the phone looks Sexy and is good for your street cred. Also I picked it up for £40 with a gold number 300mins across network and 50min text. Bargain!!!!! It pays to be cheeky.
I will let you know how I get on in… Read Full Review
