Debenhams online service is the poorest I've ever used. It's an antiquated system with no tracking, no customer service or support. If you want goods delivered in a timely manner (in fact, if you want to know there's a chance goods will actually arrive or are even in STOCK) then DON'T use Debenhams online. It's slow, unreliable and unsupported. I purchased shoes on friday to wear to a wedding, I paid £28 for them,
went to the wedding on the saturday, wore them for around 6 hours the bow at side fell off.Tried to return or exchange was told this has happened through Wear & tear, and to go buy glue and glue the bow on.
Customer service skills are rubbish! I expect my shoes to last longer than 1 day, and do not want to glue them myself do not see why I should.

Debenhams sold me their in store card with goods purchased (97 pounds). I was not allowed to pay in cash and they insisted I should pay using their card. Weeks went by I saw no signs of the card nor the statement. They started calling my landline even though they had my email and mobile number. Unfortunately I failed to receive their calls because during the day I work. I cannot take calls.

My friend and I decided to use the bra fitting service at Debenhams in Ayr. We both got fitted and bought bras worth £80+ and thought we got a good service until we found that we could only buy the size in a Debenhams shop. (30FF usually 34B and 32FF usually 36DD). Purchased a ring attached to a card with plastic security tag - when the tag was taken off at home, the ring was too big. Debenhams wouldn't take it back becuase it had been reduced by 50%. Do not buy Debenhams gift cards, they can only be used in the shops, if you are not near one forget it. If you try to use them online you are limited to to one gift card per transaction and you cannot top up with a credit card EG If you have a £50 voucher and you want to buy something for £ 55 then you cant, you have to go to a store. I bought a coat in February for which I paid £70. The coat had a zip at the front which sadly broke, the zip slide has come off. I went to the local branch and asked if I can return the item. The assistant said they can only repair the zip and that it will take only a few days. I agreed and thougth that by next Saturday the coat (which I needed for work) will be ready for me. I bought a gold leather bag reduced from 50 to 40 pounds. I used it once on a cruise which was the reason for the purchase. I put it away in my wardrobe in the dust bag and inside a box. I left if there for over a year and whilst checking through my summer accessories. on removing the bag from the dust bag, it wasn't difficult to see that a lot of the gold paint had come off the leather. Having dealt with different people over the past few months i must say the biggest dissapointment we experienced in Debenhams is the lack of care from the staff, we asked for a certain item and they told us they didn't do it, we looked around and it was just in front of the salesperson we mentioned this and she got on the defense by being rude, I am sure if it was her business she would have had a different attitude.Shame for Debenhams as they must lose business to less attentive customers… Read Full Review

I purchased a Debenham's handbag for half price in the sale, should have been £80. After a short time the lining split in several places, it was obvious the seams were too narrow. When I took it back they said it was fair wear and tear after only 3 months use. I have had cheap bags from markets that have lasted for years! I ordered a Microwave oven from Debenhams on-line service, which was delivered within 2 days..great! Unfortunately the item was not only broken, dented and the door would not close, but it already had a previous customers return note attached to say it was broken!! They do not deliver on the date they give. do not phone to apologise, have plenty of patience when you phone for explanation or to conplain, you are pushed from pillar to post ending up with a very large phone bill.

Ordered online and tried to use a gift voucher. Wouldnt accept the gift voucher and it has to be mnore than purchase order. Customer services pathetic, told that they were unable to cancel the order. I was in Wimbledon Debenhams store right before new year, bought a coat for 35 pounds but has been charged for 75 pounds on my debit card in the bank statement. I contacted my bank and they said there is no problem on their side, this is what is charged totally from the store. Had both online and shop experiences with Debenhams.Firstly online I tried to order a xmas gift of a leather mens bag order came fast but was not the pictured item i thought i was ordering, tried another one that looked like item that came as something totally different.Eventually ended up taking both into a store to get the bag off the shelf.

Absolutly terrible! ordered 2 x pairs of dining chairs on 7th Nov and received within 2 days, which I thought was brilliant until I realised that 2 of the chairs were faulty.
