The quality of their products is always good and the range is good but you often end up paying for the privilege of receiving a catalogue. tuesday 8pm rang customer service and was told to ring back the next day as they are not allowed to contact the courier after 7pm?

I felt that security on their website appeared to be poor and some of the staff seemed unhelpful to me.
I think the trousers are a terrible cut and the legs are too short for me, they don't always seem to offer smaller sizes in longer leg lengths. I feel that the clothes can be boring but ok for work.

They have made a mistake with every order I have ever placed which results in me having to phone several times and explain that I have items included on delivery notes that weren't in the parcel. I mean items the website indicated as being in stock! Customer services don't seem to communicate with the goods despatch people. The latest mess; ordered 6 items all 'in stock'

I use e-commerce sites a lot and www.next.co.uk is so far off the norm it presents major issues. Unlike every other site I use there is no password. Instead, the validation is based on info which is potentially public such as address and date of birth. This is a major worry and is symptomatic of how the business model of some websites differs considerably. I rang Next and ordered some curtains on line having made previous enquiries about their delivery. I was told on 2 occasions that delivery would be made the next day.

I duly waited in and finally rang at 7 p.m. only to be told they were sorry but that was not always the case despite their original assurances of next day delivery.

As a result I have been told that delivery may take place within the next couple of days.

I was never too keen on their stores. I found that nothing was ever in stock in my size (6 - 8 at Next), so I decided to request a directory so that I could order stuff. I didn't like the layout of their stores either, and I found everything really hard to find, so I stopped going in there.

The Next website is easy to use. The new sale style searching is much improved, and they have a wider range of sizes than they have in the stores, but if you buy online, you have to have the Directory, which of course you have to pay for.

It is just as easy to go into your local Next store and order from their catalogue. You have to pay up front, but it saves carriage and £3.85 (up to) 4 times a year. They recently started charging for their Summer additional catalogue also… Read Full Review

I have to say, although I don't like paying for a catalogue or having to open an account, with Next Directory it is a catalogue, so therefore you do have to open an account.

<br/>I have never found it a problem to navigate the web site at all, and I actually found it to be very easy.

<br/>I also think they accept Switch now.
<br/>
<br/>And I have to say that customer service is great whenever I have dealt with them, but if you don't have an account or don't want to open an account then how can they help you? I think you can have items ordered and delivered to your local Next store, thereby saving the delivery cost. As to whether you need an account for this, I don't know, but I would assume so.

Next have sent my 19 year old son a totally unsolicited catalogue, followed by a totally unsolicited bill for the catalogue for £3.50. The bill states "Ordered Goods" Nov. 15, AW/04. Number M99999 D.

We have checked very carefully with our son, who incidentally either buys clothes through our Argos Additions Catalogue, or high street small retailers.

This is totally unacceptable, and probably contravenes the Trading Standards Sale of Goods Act.

If it helps to add weight to AWG's review - I can confirm that Next did this to me also.

<br/>They obtained my address for unrelated purposes and I received a catalogue a couple of weeks later, with an invoice for £3.50, also relating to 'Ordered Goods'.

<br/>I called them, and though the operator also asked a similar question to the above poster, i.e. had I entered any in-store promotional competitions, they were very quick to accept the mistake and close the account. They merely asked me to leave the unwanted catalogue outside my house for pick-up and that would be the end of it. And it was, thankfully!

Next are one of the offline clothes shops I use most often but they also have a rather nifty website too. I can't say I'm a huge fan of shopping online for clothing because I'm a little on the fussy side (OK I'm enormously fussy!) and like to see the exact colour, fit, material etc. etc. before I'm happy! What I personally use the site for is if there is something I see in the store which isn't in my size but I like, then I can go online and order it. Perfect!

i have tried to order on line hopwever, most products i wanted where out of stock. one time before i ordered the products and delivery was slow i was billed for clothes that i did not receive. After MANY phone calls i got it sorted. I was very dissappointed in the services and the lack of communication with other members. Every time i rang i had to tell the same story again and again. It was sorted.

I just love Next and ordering on-line is so easy and it tells you there and then whether items are in stock or not.

<br>Yes towards Christmas they do sell out of a lot of stuff, but if you order what you want when the catalogue comes out then you are fine. It is to be expected near Christmas that stock is low, and then just after Christmas their sale starts, but if stock is low, it is because the catalogue has been out for 5 months, and all the new stuff is starting to come, so it is to be expected really.
<br>
<br>Staff are always pleasant on the phone, queries are dealt with quickly and pleasantly, so all-round I find them a very good company to deal with.
